I recently picked up the "Trine Collection" as well and was pleasantly surprised at just how GOOD it is, due to its really low price. Some others that I picked up cheap for Xbox One were Just Cause 3 & 4, Shenmue I & II, and Forza Horizon 4 (just to have a physical copy). Also picked up Sine Mora EX, based on one of your earlier recommendations and couldn't put it down. Awesome game. Thanks for the video!
Playing the Trine games couch co-op with 3 people is such a blast. They’re fun to play solo, but co-op live with crosstalk and brainstorming is an absolute blast.
I am so surprised Titanfall 2 regularly seems to get relegated to the bargain bin treatment. that game is one of the most awesome games i played last generation.
It is, it's considered by many to have the best Single Player Campaign for a game of that type and I played it through PS Plus when it available on the monthly games and I can say it's as great as everyone says it is, the series does live on through Apex Legends for better or for worse and off and on over the years Titanfall 3 has been discussed and could happen at some point, especially if EA wants to make some bank and seriously with all the praise that Titanfall 2 got EA making a follow up would sell well, just have to make sure to not have some big competition to deal with and Money.
Market value and quality are seldom related. Bioshock Infinite went to the bargain bin several months after launch despite the fact that it's excellent. Meanwhile CoD games hold substantial value for several years. It's more about demand vs. supply than quality.
Never been huge into Assassin’s Creed but I will always give Origins HUGE props for adding in an educational mode, where it gets rid of the combat and quests and you just get to explore the different parts of Egypt with audio commentary explaining the real world history and the things surrounding you in game. Something literally no one was asking for but goodness do I think it’s one of the coolest things you can randomly add to a game like Assassin’s Creed. Highly recommend if you want a casual break from assassinating people (in game)!
Cannot say enough about Mad Max. I’m biased to open-world games, sure, but it was an enjoyable romp especially once you get past a somewhat slow beginning. If you’re a trophy hunter/completionist, make sure you check a guide for taking out all outposts as one has missable content that’s hard to destroy later when you can’t return inside said outpost.
Agreed. Mad Max is what I consider one of the most underrated games of the past generation. I finished it for the first time on the PC but am going through it again on Xbox, especially it ended up getting a 60fps boost on the Series X.
Mad Max was actually my game of the year when it came out. There were games with much higher reviews from critics but nothing gave me more pleasure than that game. Goes to show you that reviews aren’t everything. It has its flaws but it’s just kinda awesome.

Assassin's Creed Origins is a stunningly beautiful game. Even if you don't care for this type of game, everyone should play it just to explore the world.

Metro Exodus is one of the best games of the previous gen, the fact you can get it for that cheap is amazing. People should play it. Also Sam's DLC is very good
Such a great topic to do a vid on! In Canada unless they're super old or launch titles nothing is less than $10, but if I had to recommend some going by Gamestop US prices, here they are: -DOOM (2016) (I was never that into the Doom games but I got this one a while ago and I have been really enjoying it, different, fast paced and fun!) -Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order (apparently under $10 in the US, Dark Souls like Star Wars game, great story and boss battles) -Control (really fun third person shooter, at least in the first half) -South Park: The Stick of Truth & The Fractured but Whole (also not a huge turn-based RPG fan, played these and was blown away, easily on my favorite games list, great for fans of the show) -Most of the Lego games (can't go wrong with them, great if you have kids or another person to play with, they are kinda samey but fun) -Any of the Dead Rising games (can't go wrong with killing zombies)
Another great video man! Keep up the awesomeness.. Had a weird dream last night and you were in it..you helped me put up curtains..extra weird because I don’t put up curtains and why were you there? Either way great video and thanks for the help with the curtains..? 😂
The last AC that I played was AC3 on X360 then during the locked down in 2020 I decided to play Origins and like what you said we needed that long break from the AC franchise to enjoy it again and I had a blast finishing Baek's journey. I also enjoyed Battlefield Hardline on my OG XB1 fun quick action shooter.
Honestly it is strange but I've seen the prices of some games over here in germany only increase of like 5€ per game (not every game but a few) while a lot of game prices has fallen. Not just like TOY STORY 2 which at one point costed 40-55€ and cost like 15-20€ (obviously due to the new PsPlus) but also games that are NOT part of PsPlus like LEGACY OF KAIN SOUL REAVER which has dropped like 20€ in price (I saw it goin from 30€ down to 10€). Always depends on where you're buying the games, if you're buying them from a store or if you're buying them online, but I have recently bought sooo many games for cheap that were absolutely over-priced almost. Absolutely crazy...
I know this is a old video but I find it interesting for you to say that titanfall 2 was the only game you played that had a run wall mechanic and one of the call of duty games has that feature that I believe you said you have played as well. I’m a big fan of you and I’m always watching your videos, rock on!
MJR thank you for the Forclosed recommendation. I did check it out on PS Premium (had some doubts after seeing your comments on the gameplay) and while I'm really really trying to enjoy this interesting game, the dumb AI and gameplay quirks just set this game back. Often times they put you in an area surrounded by enemies, which are alerted no matter if you sneak or not. Checkpoints can put you back several minutes, so its often frustrating to sit and figure out where exactly to be standing or to go at what point during a battle to survive. Was a fun weekend play though and maybe if its cheap used I'll pick it up. Thanks for the recommendation!
7:49 Totally agree. I picked it up right when it came out because it looked promising to me and boy was I right! I really enjoyed it and did literally everything you can do! Got all the collectibles in it and all trophys on PS4. I sold my console recently with this and a couple other games but if I ever get a PS5 i'll definitely get this game with it!
Just wanted to thank you for recommending Trine. I picked it up last week for $8.99 and I am loving it. I already beat part 1 and I'm halfway through part 2
I wouldn't call myself a gamer, but for some reason I love watching MJR and all the crew. I just find them all really entertaining. However I do occasionally feel the need to buy a game and fire up my PS4 (about once a year roughly) 🤣. And I manged to get Borderlands 3 off Amazon for £6.00 (new and sealed). I was pretty impressed with that price
Pretty good single player experience for Titanfall 2 imo, I enjoyed that game. I wish they would’ve stayed focused on a 3rd game. Metro Exodus looks beautiful on PS5.
Awesome heard that game was good, I didn't know there was a retail version of it, I've been eyeing the digital complete edition myself on PSN, due to it being complete and all.
I actually played and finished Mad Max earlier this year it's such a fun game the customization and car combat feels so smooth there are some repetitive areas like enemy bases but that certainly dosen't diminish how great the game is and if you're a fan of the Mad Max world there is so much to explore. Love the work Avalanche did with this game. I also need to check out titan fall 2 but the only thing that really stopped me giving it a try is I heard that the campaign is short and I'mnot really into multiplayer, but now I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
@@MetalJesusRocks Yeah, I actually tried it after watching a previous video of yours discussing it, and I agree that the controls are very satisfying. Have a wonderful weekend.
Great video, a lot of these I'm played around release and feel very fondly about. A budget game which I think is good and very underrated is Contra Rogue Corps. No it's not like other Contra games but it's a great twin stick shooter with great weapon variety and tight gameplay. I genuinely belief if it hadn't been called Contra it would have been viewed as a good game.
Great video! And I'll admit I liked a few of those like Titanfall 2 and Mad Max and I'm not usually a fan of those styles. Lot of fun to be had with everything on this list. And Metro Exodus is an absolute steal at that price!
Everything is going up where there is a shortage there is a demand. Thank you for your cool content once again MJ. So many underrated games i agree with you.
All these games can be found discounted on the current Steam summer sale as well, so if you prefer PC or are looking for some games to try on the Steam Deck these are good options.
first time seeing a big youtuber mentioning trine.that game series is high quality with such good sound effect and music too.with many amazing puzzles. i dont watch that many youtubers to begin with but i see the thumbnails and title they have.the trine series is what i would say a hidden gem for most.def try 4 and 2.part 1 has bad respawn point apart from that its good.3 is also good in my apinion.
Man as soon as I started watching this video I hope you said about metro exodus. I got this bundled in with my Xbox one and only recently started playing it and I love it!
I played Mad Max a couple years ago right before the servers shutdown. What a great game! I loved the driving aspect and overall gameplay. It came out the same day as MGS so it didn't get the recognition it deserved.
I decided to check out Assassin's Creed Origins because it was added to game pass on pc and I havent played any AC games for more than a decade and what a pleasure it's been to play through the game and the 2 DLC's now. The game also looks so freaking good at native 4K with every setting cranked to the max on an LG C1 oled tv. I decided to grab Odyssey too after enjoying Origins and Odyssey is really good too, it improves on some areas but I kind of think Origins is better, mainly because I feel the story is more grounded in reality, it takes itself seriously and Bayek and Aya are more relatable characters.
Titanfall 2 was/is one of my favourite games of all time. It took me totally by surprise. Still play it to this day. I mainly play it online and good to see it’s still alive!
My Xbox One Collection is exploding lately! Over here in Europe many games are around €5 - €10! Recommending Zombie Army Trilogy, State Of Decay, Children Of Morta, Shadow Of Mordor, Dead Rising 3....all seen in this price range!
I missed out on the entire PS4 generation but just recently got a PS5. The deals on games I’d been wanting to play are great. I might have felt like I was missing out for a while, but now I get to go back and catch up for a significant price cut without feeling like I’m playing very outdated games.
I love Battlefield Hardline; It is so different and unique compared to other Battlefield titles. I’ve always heard from other games that Mad Max is a super fun game, and from your footage, it looks awesome! I will be definitely picking that game up. Great video MJR! 😎🎮🤟🏻
Thanx 4 the recommendation I think I'll grab Battlefield 2day as it looks better than the other war like Games which I'm not really a huge fan of & yea buddy u won't regret Mad max I just got it this year & still haven't beaten it cause I serial game hop.
I saw your tweet about ranking Need for Speed games, so I looked up a comparison of the 3 modern ones having not played them, 2015/Payback/Heat, and came to the conclusion that Heat was worth picking up. I only saw one review of it at the time that was a bit complainy, but looking back at it, it seems really quite good for that type of game. The sense of speed when you're good looks really nice, almost like Wipeout/Redout the camera pulls back so much.
AC Origins is a gem. Like you said, I also came back to AC after skipping a bunch of them. Origins just pulled me into ancient Egypt and I loved it, the atmosphere, music, exploration, ... All brilliantly designed!
I just got Concrete Genie on PS4 for under $3 from Kohl's when they gave me $5 in Kohl's Cash returning an Amazon item. Looking forward to playing it soon.
I'm in Canada and for some reason all my used game stores price their stuff as if they're an eBay scalper.. it's horrible. I wish we had some stores with prices like these.
Mad max was so mass produced that you could find new copies years later with the pre-order DLC the Car Ripper included i got mine at walmart for 20 dollars. Honestly it does a good job staying true to the series people didn't care for it but i loved it.
The real deal are game compilations. The arcane collection has prey and dishonored 2 (the first one is a download code). There are also double packs for far cry and assassin's creed ir the ezio trilogy.
What are some cheap Xbox One & PS4 games you would recommend?
The dark souls series, if you find them too hard they at least have some cool box art 👊 keep it up Metal Jesus!

Any Flatout, any Need for Speed, definitely crash drive 3 for $2 digital 💫🏆
Project CARS Game of the Year Edition is about £10 or less used and is a great racing sim with all the DLC included on the disc!
I'd spend just $5 more than your limit is and get the Yakuza Remastered Collection. 3 full games that you can pump a WHOLE lotta time into.

Great video! And I'll admit I liked a few of those like Titanfall 2 and Mad Max and I'm not usually a fan of those styles. Lot of fun to be had with everything on this list. And Metro Exodus is an absolute steal at that price!
I played Battlefield Hardline on PS3 it was pretty fun!
u can never release too many assassins creed games im a huge fan of the series just like im a huge fan of you metal jesus
Yeah, Mad Max day one buyer here. Man, what a great game to see again after all these years. I really need to go back to it sometime soon.
Dude really called Julius Caesar a pharaoh lol
that last game trine collection reminds me of lost Vikings, where you need to switch to another character to help solve a puzzle or problem.
Everything is going up where there is a shortage there is a demand.
Thank you for your cool content once again MJ.
So many underrated games i agree with you.
These videos show you how incredibly humble Metal Jesus is.
This vid couldn't have come at a better time, just got handed an old xbox one not too long ago for free. Been needing some games for it.
All these games can be found discounted on the current Steam summer sale as well, so if you prefer PC or are looking for some games to try on the Steam Deck these are good options.
Yep! I snagged Mad Max, AC: Origins, NFS Heat and several others cheap this week just so I could have them portable on Steam Deck 👍
I'm glad you did mentioned Battlefield Hardline, it's such an underrated game.
first time seeing a big youtuber mentioning trine.that game series is high quality with such good sound effect and music too.with many amazing puzzles.
i dont watch that many youtubers to begin with but i see the thumbnails and title they have.the trine series is what i would say a hidden gem for most.def try 4 and 2.part 1 has bad respawn point apart from that its good.3 is also good in my apinion.
That’s exactly what I did with assassins creed, missed a few then came back in on origins when it got added to gamespass
Great video you man I've been watching your videos 10 years ago and now we both are getting old but it's cool moments
Glad you like them!
Very nice, I already picked up few great games from your game picks
Keep'em coming, Metal Jesus...🤘🏼💯✔️ I always wanna know what's worthwhile playing and collecting for the systems that I love...❤️👍🏼
hey metal Jesus awesome pickups video
Jason and the Argonauts back at it again with another great video. Thanks for the content as always. Lets play man! Get some!
Grabbed Bridge Constructor Portal for PS4 for less than $15 this week.
Comes with Bridge Constructor, and Bridge Constructor Stunts on the disk too.
Great suggestions! Thanks
Mad Max was sooooooo fun! I might have to play through that one again🙂
what a great list!
Nice video!
I’ve never actually gotten into assassins creed…
Is origins a good place to start?
Really helpful list! Thanks. 🎉
Good video! Some games I will have to take a look at! Thank You!
So glad you highlighted Mad Max. One of my favorites from last gen.
It’s crazy how few games actually held their value on the Xbox One and PS4. So many of them are ridiculously cheap now, and it’s awesome!
Thanks for the cool game recommendations. Also thanks for the Retron 5 videos.
Great Video. Some hidden gems for sure! Cant wait to see you at Phoenix Game On!
I'm in Canada and for some reason all my used game stores price their stuff as if they're an eBay scalper.. it's horrible.
I wish we had some stores with prices like these.
canada is such a greedy place now
Mad max was so mass produced that you could find new copies years later with the pre-order DLC the Car Ripper included i got mine at walmart for 20 dollars. Honestly it does a good job staying true to the series people didn't care for it but i loved it.
The real deal are game compilations. The arcane collection has prey and dishonored 2 (the first one is a download code). There are also double packs for far cry and assassin's creed ir the ezio trilogy.
I'd say, if you can find it, definitely get Driveclub. That game is a definition of a "hidden/forgotten" gem!
