  • James and Colin Harvey head to Earlswood Lakes near Birmingham in this weeks episode of Cadence Fishing TV. The lads have struggled to get out over the past few weeks with the weather, so heading to this productive fishery was well overdue. Using feeder fishing tactics to target the lakes large bream population, James and Colin fish two different lines to see which one would be the most productive, taking you through the tactics they used to make this a successful session. There is also a cheeky quid on who'll catch the first bream. Find out how they got on in this week's Cadence Fishing TV episode...

Wow, memories. I remember having a chat with Kenny Giles on what looks like exactly the same peg, must be over 40 years ago! (by the way he said never buy your daughter a horse!!!). My first time there was on my birthday September 30th 1967, Flowers in the Rain came on Radio 1 with Tony Blackburn, the first day and first song ever on Radio1. Had a few bream I remember off the dam wall. Well done Cadence team.

The one real huge problem I have with these Cadence fishing videos is that there is not a new one every single day. Wonderful stuff. Thank you James, Chappy and Colin (as well as Paul and Alan from other videos) production quality is outstanding as is the level of info and expertise of the anglers. The tone is also so good, the demeanour and attitude of the anglers making you want to know them and go fishing with them. Truly wonderful stuff especially for those of us who do not get as much time to go out fishing. A huge thank you!

You're a hard task master Alex😄 your appreciation has been noted mate👍 a day to record and up to two days to edit keeps us all busy enough. The inclement weather throws a lot of spanners into the works at this time of year. A nice hour long one for you tomorrow though 😁 Chappy

Colin was using my dream combo. And proved just how good it really is. One day it shall be mine. Oh yes, one day. I've also taken to using Matrix terminal stuff. Tough and dependable.
Another great video James, keep 'em coming mate.

Another top video guys, very informative.. I live near a few larger venues similar to this but tend to avoid them through not knowing how to approach them (the curse of the commercial). When starting a session like this how often would you re-cast initially, to build up your swim? 🎣👍

A lot depends what on conditions and time of year. Rule of thumb, six feeders when cold, a dozen in warmer times. Then let the response dictate how often to recast, but every ten minutes is thereabouts....no fixed rules really.

dannyC Hi Danny, on this occasion we just fished each cast, so did not introduce any feed at the start. In the winter this is often more reliable as you can gauge how the fish are feeding and respond accordingly. We did however cast fairly regularly in the first hour or so (approx every 5 mins). Winter fishing can be hard and it’s easy to over feed the fish! Cheers James

Yet another good video. Catching bream James by fair means or foul....I'd weigh a foul hooked fish in a match as I'm sure most anglers would. Can we get some of that braid from Holland? Cheers Andy James

Always love these Cadence videos, but was surprised at 8.54, Colin "I'll cast this out and we'll go and get the net" then left rod in to see what James had caught. Oh dear ! and all those big bream and carp in the venue too.

Sorry Terry, it's Chappy here. I can't let your comment go unchallenged mate, you are definitely making a mountain out of a molehill here! James was slightly concerned he had hooked an eel, which can prove tricky to net. Colin had a larger diameter landing net head out of shot behind his spot...i.e. less that three paces away. He suggested he might have to grab it if indeed it proved to be a big eel. So any rod left out was never going to be left unattended for any amount of time,, and given how cold it was, fish were hardly biting that fast! I have to remind you of the saying " let he who is without sin..." Because NO angler alive including you, has never made the odd error of judgement! Please continue to enjoy the videos, and I can assure you that we make every effort to circumvent situations where watching individuals might have cause for complaint. To my mind it was either going to be a perch or a foul hooked bream and if James or Colin are guilty of anything then it is simply adding a bit of dead pan humour into the piece for the sake of light relief, but it seems you missed the tongue in cheek delivery 😄 chillax bro'... peace 👍
