The thing is, he was considered stylish in the 70s too - the epitome of cool, wealthy and sophisticated. That's paradoxical, given that he grew up in the north of England & his father was a labourer.
Stop being English about hair, oh jesus is his hair OK... Oh check the mirror. Fuck me,, it's one of the greatest rock n roll songs ever, forget the hair a hole
I was 15 when this was released and my friend was 14. She always had a thing for Bryan Ferry and his music, but I just couldn't see it. It's taken me an awful lot of years to realise she was right..
@@barrycoad2080 Nothing wrong with being slow'n'easy. Those were far less neurotic times than today. A slow pace keeps the burn outs away.... Ask the Italians. Highway kings all to often end up in less pristine condition as before agains tress or walls.
One day this video will be seen as the genius it is! Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry WILL be the new re-discovered Magic Music. Chris Spedding Oh Yeah on guitar!! The Genius of Bryan's musical viewpoint and his pals is just STUNNING.
Builds up nicely, kicks in, develops, guitar solo, superb back up vocals and lyrics that tell something more than ooh I loove you oohhh I need you (yeah-yeah). Top notch, deserves millions of thumbs up and a spot on "The Best of Roxy Music + Bryan Ferry".
And don't let's forget tokeo Joe,so fits in with this album, ooh and let's not forget the whole blessed album. It's great when at the time you loved it to bits by yourself, then years later u tube brings out all the other music lovers of album!😂🎉😊
Take it from someone who has been known as Roxy Victoria since 1975...you were better off missing that tour. Of course i had to be there so I was but better you remember him when he had a voice....😢
My older brother had this 45 and played it over and over. I was 9 back in 77 and even at that age I knew this great. Feel sorry for all the 9 year olds of today.....music is just r&b crap. No melody and rapping to a drumbeat.
I've had the "In Your Mind" album for many years which is where this song comes from, but until now , I have never seen the video. Thanks for uploading.
A fantastic song. Recall it well and what I was doing around this time in 1977 as an 18 year old. Songs take you back to those times. Chris Spedding was a talent guitarist.
Im not sure if this feeling is pure nostalgia but I was 11 when this song came out. Me my sister and little brother waiting for mum in the car while she went and done heroin. This song was played so much on the radio that we heard it all the time in the car driving all over the city pretending to fall for the lame excuses of why we were travelling seemingly to nowhere... but we knew her game. I get angry alot thinking about the stupidity of it all but then realise that she might have been the angel we needed to stop us turning into junkies. I get pretty mad sometimes and not remember that but when I do remember I want to tell her how much she was loved. She got off 'h' and we had her another 20 years. She is still the most wise person I have ever meet. And I love her.
I was 15. A TV ad for the album 'In Your Mind', to accompany Bryan's Australian tour, ended with two girls in 'In Your Mind' t-shirts: 'Oooh, Bryan...' '...get into MY mind!' While in Australia he guest-edited an issue of RAM (Rock Australia Magazine) - 'Confessions of the Debonair Degenerate.' World's suavest man.
I’ve decided, this song along with the video are the pinnacle of musical achievement. I need not listen to any other song ever again because it won’t be as good as this.
BF studied Fine Art at Newcastle University… one of his tutors was Richard Hamilton… RH staged an exhibition in London called ‘This Is Tomorrow’… hence the title of the track/single…

And not Bryan ferry and Roxy Music They are 2 different entities j suspect you came to hear in the 80s or later Your not in from the first lp and their masterpiece For your pleasure I suspect you came in at Avalon Hence the Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music No Roxy and Oor Bryan are seperate entities 🎉
This clip is 47 years old. Let that sink in.
Sunk in my friend, And still sounds a good proper musicians playing proper dam good tunes
The sunglasses, the hair, the clothes _ it's almost 45 years ago! Even if the music isn't up your alley his sense of style is akin to time travel.
The thing is, he was considered stylish in the 70s too - the epitome of cool, wealthy and sophisticated. That's paradoxical, given that he grew up in the north of England & his father was a labourer.
His look could be from 2023……. so cool and stylish … ❤
The UK produced generations of art school rockers, Bryan Ferry, David Bowie, Keith Richards, Jarvis Cocker etc.

Congratulations.
The reward is yours
This isn't a song.
Its actually a time machine . That takes you back to when music videos were perfect.
This song is a real cracker. Bryan Ferry is the man. A proper performer. Pure class. Awesome.
This song and album are incredibly underrated!!!
Top of the lite 😅
My obsession in college.
Arguably his best work, both musically and lyrically. A piece of work that connected then, and still resonates almost 50 years later.
This is one of the coolest songs of all time and Bryan Ferry does it so well.
Mark Domney no they are just SLOW

Outstanding recording. The whole album was so crisp. My fave BF album.
For those who are interested, Paul Thompson Is playing John Bonham's actual Ludwig drum kit.
The universe made more sense to me when I learned that John Bonham used the same drum kit as Buddy Rich.
I wonder how much residual coke was on that drum kit..?
Im a love child of john bonhams drum kit
Paul was John’s brother in law
Chris Spedding,le plus sous-estimé des guitaristes Britanniques, moi je l'aime!
Wow! That Bryan Ferry fella! Cooler than the cold side of the pillow! 😎
Chris Spedding deserves a special mention..

He looks stunning! His fantastic style would work even better today than it did back then. ❤
Would love to see a live version of this. One of the best songs to come out of the 70s.

Bryan Ferry at his best... just superb and SO cool
I haven't heard this track for years, not one of his big hits ,it's a shame it's a good one.
Great groove. Doesn't quit.
Builds up nicely and before you know it you’re hooked.
One of the very better fogotten tracks of the '70s. So tight. Very cool.
Now your fiddly 5 like me and it still moves you
love it love it love it! real music!
What richness and depth a "horn section" brings to a track, It's seems to have become passe in modern music unfortunately.
So effortlessly suave 🙋♀️
I was lucky to grow up as a teenager through this awesome music. Still sounds awesome and I'm fiddy

Very clear footage for a Videoclip shot in 1977.

Legends ... yes this is hypnotic...get the jist...!
Chris certainly had his own style, Jazz/rock guitarist playing a gibson flying V with a slide.
So suave! As only Bryan can be♥️
🔥🎸 Great song, full of hope 💫🙌
I bought this on 7" vinyl and used to play it full blast at 07.00 to get me in the mood for work. I wasn't popular with my parents.

Heard this for the first time ever today thanks to a random tweet on Twitter. Wow.
Ferry could always pick musicians for his solo stuff. Great song.
Got the biggest kick getting In your mind on CD.
Saved up my pocket money to buy In Your Mind. This track is one of my all time favourite, every note hits you like no other song.

The late Great John Weston on Bass. Just after he left Uriah Heep!

That is Wetton....but thanks!

Featuring the Kokomo Kidz (Dy, Paddie & Frank) & Mel Collins too!
Can anyone tell me where I can get a good MP3 backing track for this amazing song. Bryan Ferry rocks
Super guitar solo

He’s such a brilliant talent. I wonder if he knows just how good he is.
Oh I’m sure he does. Sadly he turned into a far right wing fox hunting tw*t. Such a shame, he used to be my hero.
