    I found so much happiness listening to both of your honesty and authenticity. Even more so both of your laughter. You fed off each other yet still kept it clean. You would be wonderful big brothers to have to talk with to hear the perspectives you have and gleam wisdom from.
    All the guests seem like down to earth, hard working people who give from their hearts. The honesty they offer from their life experiences are pearls. The scriptures and word are woven in perfectly.
    Keep sharing- your audience will grow solid as long as God always gets the glory. Cheers/many blessings to all of you

    I really really hope that the men are watching this. They NEED to hear this.
    I noticed when I'm out in public and I see black couples the men are almost ALWAYS with light(er) skinned women. They're passing over good attractive women every day just because they aren't light enough. This is way more common than people think.
    One thing I appreciated about Jay in this conversation is that he acknowledged his looks will fade one day as well as hers. Men don't seem to consider that.
    I also loved that he acknowledged that what his daughter accepts in her future relationships is a reflection of what she saw in him growing up. He seems to be very self aware. Kudos to Jay!
    Laterras, what you said about not opening up her package and that she's yours until her BF marries her... EVERY daughter deserves this type of covering from her Father. She even told you about her losing her v1rg1n1ty.
    😩😩
    Another great episode as always, Laterras. 👏👏

      Well didn't you say you would pass by a dude because he didn't have a haircut? Didn't you say your friends wouldn't talk to me because of my UA-cam? Maybe those light skin women judged him off his character and not his UA-cam or haircut? Opposites attract. In my family, a lot of women are lighter and married dark-skinned men. Or if the woman was darker she married a light skin man. I mean I am sure most of them are not with the woman because she is light skin. Heck, I had a very light skin women tell me she wouldn't date me if I was light skin because she only dated dark brothers. Most women love a tall, dark, and handsome man. It's the norm.
      Women do it every day to short dudes. Millions of women bypass good men especially black women for height. I had a woman to tell me she rather die single then to date a short dude. Meanwhile, she already been divorce once to a man who was 6ft.lol. So whether it's light skin or height or UA-cam it's all surface level. So it sounds like the pot calling the kettle black because it is all looks related.
      You have any non judgemental friends?

    • @Rashaadthegr8
      @Rashaadthegr8 2 роки тому

      Do you have one friend that will not judge me on UA-cam instead of real life? All I wanted was proof that these single, childless, in shape women exist. I wasn't being negative. I was being honest. Out of all this time, you just proved that women in Orlando judge without knowing you and why it's hard to date in Orlando. So can a brother get added to the friend group?

    • @jess_is
      @jess_is 2 роки тому

      @@Rashaadthegr8 The lady who told you she'd rather die single than be with a short dude was more than likely just not attracted to you(or whatever man she was referring to). Most women won't flat out tell a man that she doesn't want to date him because she doesn't find him attractive (in case you haven't noticed, we aren't allowed to say that). We women don't care about height in the way YOU THINK we do. A man literally doesn't have to be 6 ft tall, we just prefer our man to be taller than we are because it makes us feel protected by him, like he's a covering. It's psychological. Imagine running for cover behind something that is smaller than you...
      The average height for women in the US is 5'4" and for man I believe it's 5'9" or 5'10." That makes most men taller than than most women. So therefore women don't HAVE to date men shorter than themselves. The solution to that is to intentionally go after women that are shorter than you.

    • @jess_is
      @jess_is 2 роки тому +1

      @@Rashaadthegr8 and FYI my friends didn't make judgment about you without knowing you. They just didn't find you attractive. It had nothing to do with your character or the content on your channel.
      Idk what gym you go to but maybe you should switch because I run into plenty of in shape women at my gym.

      @@jess_is
      Umm don't let UA-cam fool you I don't need makeup or filters on my pics. I look good and even better in real life. Again you love to assume. The lady w that I am talking about the actual first message to me was "What is a handsome man like you doing on this app." So it wasn't the looks. Alot of women may say that but I always ask for feedback whether it's a woman or a job. We had a decent conversation. Then she was like put a thumbs up emoji if you over 6ft. She was like I understand it is shallow but I refuse to be with anyone under 6ft. You never even showed proof of what these "friends" look like. And you don't even have a real pic in. your profile. I could be talking to a robot. You have been talking about these so-called "friends" for weeks. Wheres is the proof Jessica? lol. At least I am not scared to show my face.
      Lol the solution is to date women who are more evolved that know that height doesn't mean protection. And to date women who don't care about height, race, or distance. There is alot of women who rather die single then to date someone that lives in another city, another race, or shorter than them. But again only 30% of black people are married you do the math. This is stuff that can be researched very easily. Now I am not saying that is the only reason why marriage rates are so low but alot of women not just black care about stuff that don't even matter.
      Yes, the average woman and man are at those heights. Floyd Mayweather, Conner Mcgregor, Bruce Lee, and Mike Tyson are all under 6ft and none of your exes could beat them up. Let's keep it 100. Being tall doesn't make you bulletproof, doesn't make you a better man, and doesn't make you bulletproof. Most people don't fight these days anyways they use guns. it's not the spartan era. You don't have to be tall to own a gun or know martial arts or boxing.
      Yes I know a woman wants to be protected. But most women don't know the true meaning of protection because most of y'all never been truly protected. Every woman I ever met has either been lied to, beat up, cheated on or all three. But if he is lying, cheating and disrespecting you he is not covering you emotionally. If he doesn't pray for you and go to church with you he is not covering you spiritually. And if he has no savings, no job and no retirement, no will and no emergency savings, a negative net worth, or in debt he is not protecting you financially.

    Great interview. The snippet selected for the introduction hit hard. There are so many black women who may be able to see ourselves as queens but never as princesses. In many cases, it is because we didn’t have the kind of relationship with a father where we knew we were protected, cherished and affirmed. Add on the lack of representation in films and books. Some of us need to reclaim the princess within.

    And guard your mouth, that is a truck load, LOL! The bible says " out of the mouth flows what what the heart is full of" Luke 6:45. As much as people will show you how they see you, they will also tell you how they see you if you listen attentively. Wooow... 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯
    I got emocional when Jay mentioned his daughter and she said, the princesses don't look like her.🥺💔 I really wish I was there with her.
    That's how I felt, in some point in my life, when I didn't know my identity in God and the only thing I found, it was the comparison of what society says who is better than who, according to race and color. 🤔
    THAT'S SO BAD ABOUT HOW SOME PEOPLE THINK AND I WAS WRONG TOO, BECAUSE I BELIEVED IN THEIR OPINION, LETTING THEIR OPINION TO MAKE ME FEEL LESS.
    I've changed so much, over the years, it's not that I don't care so much about what people think of me, but I don't really care about it anymore like I used to.
    My connection with God is stronger every day, that I talk to Him about everything, and that's what has helped me become who I am.
    Day by day, I ask a question over and over again, "Father God, what do you think of me" and I smile because we are unique, imperfect, and perfect as God created us. I just try to be the best of myself.
    Guard your eyes... Is protecting the values of what we want in the person we want to share our life is very important.
    I learned to take my time getting to know the person, because only then do I know, if that's what I was looking for, without false expectations.
    I think once we know ourselves, we really know who we are, what we want and what we need, not just looking at the surface of someone's physique, or that list that we want that person to be. It is clear that IT WILL NEVER BE 100% EVERYTHING WE WANT.
    It is important to put in prayer for that ideal person we want in our life because sharing life with someone, is a yes or no of living in purpose or living an empty life without meaning of having lived.
    Thank you very much for this podcast Laterras, we are still in personal construction. 😅❤️

    "Mindset usually gets better not worse". "
    We are brainwashing ourselves to never show up as our authentic selves."👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Laterras! Every daughter needs an open father like you. Wow! I love that you're open with all of your children. Also, your dad is a cowboy and 3rd degree black belt 🤠 OMG! Can you interview him for Father's Day?! I really enjoy the DFW podcast! Now I'm curious, would YOU take a woman less physically appealing but had more in common with you? 🤔

    Congratulations on being your daughters Superhero.

    Same issues this side of the world. Grew up hard as a dark skinned girl... strangely I got a bit lighter 😁 (still shocks my Mom). Now that I'm older I understand that it stems from oppression, it runs deeper than meets the eye. Anyway... I really appreciated this, there's a better future for our kids with Dad's like you gentlemen. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

    This was a good one. As always the episodes are getting better. I thank God for that. I was thinking about the title or focus point of this episode. The first thing that came to me was Eve. The bible said she saw the fruit and it looked good to her (paraphrased.) So many times we take a bite out of things because it looks good but at the end it will cause us death. I personally have subjected myself to things because I was only looking at the surface. I thank God for growth. Now about being your authentic self. A very special friend of mine dealt with this because she thought I wanted a certain type of woman. Once she overcame that and presented her authentic self we had an amazing time together.

    Shalom men of God and many blessings to you both and to your beautiful families (personal/ministry).
    As always, beautiful content and the dialogue is everything. I enjoyed the peace and contentment from the environment you both created on this podcast. And I agree with you Mr. Whitfield, Mr. Bradley's illustration for Matthew 6:22-23 is on point.
    Because when the eye is "single" it reveals that it is not "married" or in "covenant" with everything it sees or with things that are considered as outside (negative, unhealthy) influences. An eye that is single is full of light because the eye is in intimate alignment with The Holy Spirit and The Word of God. Our eyes are set in our face in the horizontal position because we are created to see things the way the breath of God is expressed and released, which is from the horizontal position, because breath comes from the mouth, and the mouth is also horizontal in position.
    We see life through what God speaks and how He teaches and instructs us about life.
    Even the shape of our eyes give prophetic language to how we are built to use vision and insight. And by the eyes being in an "almond shaped" form reveals how fragrant and fruitful our vision is when the eye is utilized through The Spirit of God and not through the soul and the flesh. And the almond shape also reveal how our eyes are not designed to take in everything we see. The almond formation of the eye speaks of the importance of guarding the eyes because our vision cannot be married to things that identify with darkness, destruction, and demise. Our eyes are small for a reason. The eye is not built to consume a lot of stuff, especially things that are unhealthy. And thank you for allowing me to share this with you. Shalom
