You can also run a Super Formula car for the Gr1 race. Racing Mediums and fuel mix 5 should get you till the end of the race without pitting. As the video mentioned, the 908 is really the main rival you need to watch out for as it has good pace and uses a zero pit strategy.
definitely took me a few tries on the last race...used the Hyundai VGT (with added turbocharger) and kept spinning out all over the place. For the GR1 race I used a Mazda LM55 VGT (non-Gr1) with race mediums and I didn't have to take a pit stop. It was turning about 1:36 laps and I finished ahead of the Peugeot by a few seconds. In races without that Peugeot it was really easy as the cars weren't as fast as the Mazda VGT and I think all cars took pit stops. That Peugeot really surprised me as I could match the pace but couldn't gain on it. Fortunately, it pitted and that allowed me to win. That was fun. I'm going to try that Peugeot as I didn't realize it was that fast of a car.
For the Gr. 1 P Series, try redbull x2019. I used medium softs, pit 5th lap, full tank and the 908 pit last lap. I'm gaming on normal but when I used the 908 it was to fast and stiff in the corners for sure. Always gapped me by 15-20 secs. Going to try hard mode now, wish me luck! lol
Strat definitely works on hard mode, fuel map 1 all the way until the last lap which they consume a little more fuel in hard mode so I brought it up to 3-4.
For that last event…I went with a GB.1, moved the gas to Lean, TC at 6, and Racing Hard Tires. I did all laps without pitting at all. Finished in 1st place, with 0.7 laps left on the gas tank. Did try that car you used and I also came in 3rd
The gr1 Porsche 919 is pretty good for the Grand Valley race but you either need to fuel save with a no pit strategy or do what NAF did and put the soft tires on and running as fast as possible with one stop refueling and quick change of the tires. I'll try some other cars this week and update the chat if any of them seem to have a fighting chance against that Pugeot.
My Jimny, the original one, is at 95hp. I think that's spot on. Fast enough to win but not enough to run away. In either track, sand or snow mode. I do wish we had more offroad stuff. I know, this is not a rally game by any means. But it's fun if you're not really adept at rallying. As I am clearly not, but I do like it. Not just the 4x4's, rwd's as well. Give me that dream at least, pd. Give us the Escort ll RS. We've had some great tracks, how hard can it be? They're there, on the shelf. Polish them up, give us some events not always involving outright rallycars, and just throw them in. Nothing to lose, right? It wouldn't hurt whichever way. And I, for one, would have a reason to go on playing. Cause right now, I'm losing the faith.

Had to play dirty my first time on the Clubman Cup with a Lamborghini Diablo. That Alfa Romeo is still complete trash. Went back a second time to whoop its ass with the lovely Clio Sport V6 and got the clean race bonus.
GR Supra Carrera GT Car is pretty obvious for the special event GT40 Mark 1 And Redbull X2019, however, I placed 2nd there. Maybe I should try the Super Formula too.
Any idea why they do not have more endurance races? When I do a custom race I do a minimum 30 minutes and have fuel 5x-15x and tries 7x-15x. It makes the races to much better, strategy always comes into play. These sprint races are fine, but adding in wear and strategy takes it to another level.

I think PD did an update whereby the tyres are very cold for the first lap or two but I was still nowhere after that, even with RS tyres. Did you run the McLaren VGT in Easy?

I don’t understand why they can’t come up with better races. If the job is too difficult for them they should hire some new people to do it because these weekly challenges are important for ongoing interest.

I used the super formula car I think the 2019 version and it wasn’t too hard

I used the 2019 Honda Super Formula on racing softs, and no pitting for the last race. Fuel mix 6 up until lap 9, and then switched to fuel mix 1.
