Thank you!!! just what I needed to diagnose a problem with my new SX4 where the fan stays on all the time, even when the key is not in the ignition.

Dude excelent explanation. I thought that regular temperature was around 90 degrees. And i put an obs display with temperature alarm on my SX4 and i was scared of the values.
Where can I get the manual for further information?

Thx for watching. Just Google Suzuki SX4 workshop repair manual PDF download…A range of options are available from a number of providers. I honestly have no idea which company I purchased mine from. Around $25USD. It was many years ago. 🍻

Does the fan ac and fan motor work together in the same time when we turn the ac on ?

Condenser fan runs with: blower selector not in off, AC/defrost switch on. Or Engine coolant temp > 110C (overheat mode).
Compressor clutch engagement: Engine running, AC switch on, blower selector not in off, Although the manual doesn’t appear to state it, wide open throttle usually disables compressor clutch operation . Is this what your asking? I am uncertain having re-read your question.

Also, that was a wonderful video. I do have a question though. When standing in front of the car, the fan on the left of the rad keeps alternating between low and high speed but only when I have the fan on in the cab of the car. On top of that, I've never seen the fan on the right side of the rad actually kick in. Is there a problem with my cooling system? Summer is approaching and I don't want to be stranded if it's not necessary. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Jessica Black Far as I know. Tha fan on the passenger side (L/H Drive vehicle) is only single speed...what year is your car? (later models may be different) but I doubt it.

@@TheGibby3340 it's a 2011 SX4. I was thinking that the one on the left (my drive side) might be seized? I just bought the car in February, so obviously cooling was not required when it was -25C 😎

@@missfixitCanada The larger of the two fans (the one one the left (driver side) (3 wire)) provides 2 speed cooling air flow. it should be the first to turn on low speed, if temp. still increases then hi. Then the other (right (pass.)side) slightly smaller (2 wire) fan will operate should temp. continue to climb. If this is not the sequence of operation, its likely the 2 speed fan itself, relay or wiring is the issue. As I mentioned, I am under the impression the smaller 2 wire fan (one on the right/pass.) is single speed only. Did you check the fan fuse? Is it free to spin? (use a screw driver to check not your fingers) Note: a seized fan may not blow the fuse, sometimes you can smell it "cooking".

Hi there! I apologize for the late reply to this, but now that it's warmer out that other fan is kicking in (which is fantastic). I unfortunately have a bigger issue. Is there a way to blow out the A/C condensate line from the inside to the outside? I've seen videos of people blowing it back in but really I think that defeats the purpose as itll most likely clog again. I'm asking because I have water everywhere on the passengers side floor.

This helped so much, its almost the same setup on mi Suzuki jimny, I'm looking to install a override fan switch. Would be possible to just ground the pin that the ecm grounds with a switched ground for the body to activate the fan?

    • @TheGibby3340
      @TheGibby3340  4 роки тому +1

Yes I believe it’s possible as you suggest. If you don’t mind me asking...what purpose would that serve?

@@TheGibby3340 when offroading in 4low tends to get a bit hot, I would like to override it and turn them on before it gets hot. I tried to ground them today but It made a small spark, not sure that what the pcm sends is a ground. You have any suggestion? Thanks for the help

@@victorexposito11 On second thought... If you were to consider an override... The circuit would have to open the driver side while simultaneously grounding the coil ground side. This would safeguard the driver, regardless of configuration. Sorry for all the alterations to the answer just trying to ensure completeness and safety.

My 2010 Sx4 AC hasn't worked since I told someone NOT to top it off and he did 😵‍💫
It worked once. It hasn't turned on since 2016. No proper defrost either.
It holds freon. Isn't over pressure. I had it flushed in 2018.
Fuse & relay fine. I have no idea if it's a sensor, switch or worse. No one in small town does AC well.
I don't want to buy a used system and not have it work. I don't know how to troubleshoot. The heater fan works. Heat is hot. Suzuki no longer made in US. 😕
