What do you think of the rebranded GAP logo?
It is a $10 million epic failure: I burst out laughing when I saw it.
@@MRB16th Yeah the new logo is horrendous, not sure what the design team were thinking!!

Meanwhile, in 2000, STV did the same thing and lasted until 2006.
I think companies are trying to copy apple: minimal, simplistic, clean, futuristic aesthetics. In the 80s and 90s mtv made things “extreme”, attitude, youth, rebellion, crazy. Sports jerseys had angry looking animals, teens wore baggy jeans, pocket chains, wrist sweat bands… loud, almost dangerous looking fashion. Now with simplistic, more feminized look: tight jeans, man buns, thick rim glasses… technology is social status, apple lead the way in not just their logo but their phones and laptop has clean straight lines, no color, very generic look to it, starting with the original iPod. In the 90s apple laptops were round and colorful, but they found new success even to become the most valuable company in the world ever with their modern look. Not just Gap tried to copy it, but GM, windows, Instagram, Pizza Hut… all try to follow this trend.
