This will always be my favorite part of finding new music! That first listen and experiencing the journey of a song and not knowing where it’s going!!!
"i wish i could go back and hear them again for the first time" ....What are you talking about? Polyphia slaps so hard I loose my memory. So, it IS hearing them for the 1st time...every time...😎
You might like a piece by 70's fusion group Return To Forever, "Romantic Warrior". It is an acoustic piece blending various elements, including latin music. If you aren't familiar the group was Chic Corea on piano, Al DiMeola on guitar, Stanley Clarke on double bass partially with a bow, and Lenny White on drums. Each member has been successful on their solo careers later on.
Those are some names I haven't heard of since music college! I need to check that out, as I'm not sure if I've heard it before! Awesome recommendation!!
This whole Bossa Nova swing ... 'Girl from Ipanema', ... South American flavor of the composition was just ... SEXY. This the soundtrack to the best day of your life. Imagine a tropical sunset, on a picturesque beach, holding hands with the love of your life, enjoying a comfortable silence, playful glances, sipping your favorite beverage with the knowing anticipation of an exquisitely romantic evening all rolled into one song. Thank you Polyphia.
For me I don’t really think of a beach. I can imagine myself more in a classical setting with more art deco architecture like the one on the music video. Or more like being in a museum than a beach.
@@LiveLaughLovecraft … that is the power of creating music that transcends genres, demographics, race and socio economics. I love that we each hear and visualize within our own sphere of reference. The overwhelming positivity and individuality of each interpretation creates a comfortable place to begin any conversation. This may be exactly what we need to achieve World Peace. To think we thought that “Playing God” was a testament to the instrumental abilities of the band members. The truth might just be so incredibly more profound. ♥️♥️♥️ NAMASTE ♥️♥️♥️
You made the comment that "I quit". I'm sure you weren't serious but with that said, you can be like them with hard work and determination. Keep the faith.
If you really want totally demoralised you must watch the unplugged version which is a Tim Henson Playthrough of Playing God. The last section just hits hard because it should not be possible lmao
@@StanDotsethMusic So my first intro to them was Deadrose, then The Longing, then their collaboration with Polyphias Scott and Tim 'Die on the Cross of the Martyr',
True, but I think these guys managed to do what AAL couldn't. They got the mainstream audience to notice them and gained popularity because their songs have simple underlying structure and has catchy beats even though they're super complicated to play. The familiarity of 4/4 timing and simple chord progressions draws the majority of the people in while still keeping the musicians happy by having more intricate stuff. I heavily respect both bands though.

@@StanDotsethMusic It would not be a wonder if you had. All of them are virtuosos and often regarded as a forerunners of utilizing their instruments.

I wish many more Polyphia reactions coming up
I don’t know how much more of these guys my poor ego can take!!! They are soooooo good

I’ve recovered a bit, but it’s the highest compliment I can give them!! Such a mix of inspiration to practice, or pack your guitar away!! 🤣

I don’t know if my heart can take it! The more I watch them and think about what they are doing, the more scrambled my brain gets!!
@@StanDotsethMusic I'm the exact same. I don't say this lightly but watch Tim from polyphia doing it unplugged and prepare yourself lol
Have you checked out any Unprocessed?
No! Let me know your favorite songs and I’ll put them on my to do list!

I'm still anticipating your reaction to Archspire 😅
If you think these guys have figured it out you should check out Cafo from Animals as Leaders
That is one of my favorite Animals as Leaders tunes, other than Tempting Time! Great recommendation!!!

When can we upgrade our brain to understand this
Seriously!! I feel like mine is about 10 years behind being able to comprehend this!!
It’s Bossa Nova…
