Kinda stupid how he went on a total killing spree in the end of Rouge one and later in IV he almost does no fighting and when the lightsaber battle starts they hit each other like old ladies...
It's quite simple really, Vader is facing his old master who sliced him in EP3. So his moves are slower and more calculated because he was afraid and wanted to be careful.
Zulhardy Rahim That was not what Lucas had in mind when he first made it back in 1977, they battles became more and more violent as the francise progressed...
Rumour has it the sequel will be directed by George Lucas and might be called 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope' however we have to wait until 1977 for its release.
it retconned that Yoda and obi wan were the last jedi, by destroying Jedha, it becomes the main point to tarkin telling Vader that the last remenants of his dead religion and doesn't refer to all the dead jedi.
AlexZebol the temple of the whills I'm pretty sure, but In the movie after they destroy it they I think tarkin or krennic has a lone saying something that they have been wiped away
AlexZebol that is another place Jedi would gather for force related growth etc.... So destroying what is thought to be a last stronghold for Jedi and force users is a major coup for the empire. So Tarkin was right.
In the ending of Rogue One, we see the Corellian Corvette, getting the Death Star plans and jumped into hyperspace to the Tatooine system where Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, and Chewbacca are there.
very good video. he is right Rogue is basically for new fans who weren't there in 77' Rogue connects 3 and 4 nicely. This obviously connects the new fans to 4,5 and 6. 77' fans probably will watch Rogue just for the hell of it.
Rogue One was great, but I wish Disney would be willing to move beyond the war with the Empire. I'd like an expanded universe movie that actually expands the universe by visiting other locations or timelines. A movie about Revan's fall to the dark side during the Mandalorian Wars for example would be neat.
they probably wont, because fanservice = $$ (and star wars is barely distinguishable from generic scifi without lightsabers, stormtroopers, and darth vader)
NihilusShadow the overwhelming hate for the prequels basically makes them not want to to even touch them, but since the consensus of the prequels is changing to more of a "they were bad but not THAT bad" they might move more into that territory into the future. Also since they retconned the old EU they really have to make up a lot of what happened between 3 and 4 and also between 6 and 7. But I think once they get a large enough EU they'll start delving into the clone wars era and old republic eras and maybe even farther but thats just my guess
Which is why it was a stupid move of them to toss the already existing canon of the EU. If that was left alone, Force Awakens would have made a hell of a lot more sense than it did. But no Disney being the greedy money hungry cash cow it is, it did away with it and is now cherry picking certain things from the EU and rewriting origins and adding characters that weren't even part of the EU before its tossing into the mix.
That really wasn't a question Star Wars fans have about why Leia was searching for Obi-Wan Kenobi she says it in A New Hope, she says that he served under her father during the Clone Wars.
How could a simple proton torpedo cause a chain reaction to destroy the death star? Oh, I'd recon the same way a potato stuck in the exhaust of your car and cause a catastrophic failure of the engine.
This movie was so good. I had low expectations to be honest but this made The Force Awakens look like a fan film lol the acting in Rogue one was better, the story was 10x better and actually made sense. And the Vader scene was absolutely perfect!
No one mentions how this movie sheds light on why both Vader and Lea had only one ship each in the beginning. It was a huge problem to me until rogue one
What I really liked is that now in A New Hope, the meeting where Vader infamously finds a lack of faith disturbing isn't just any meeting but it is an emergency meeting among the highest ranking members of the Empire deciding how to damage control the plans getting out and doubting the significance of the plans being captured.
The Blue Squadron wasn't in A New Hope, because they were obliterated in Rogue One. Many of them passed through the shield gate, and were trapped in the planet's atmosphere when the Death Star fired. The rest of the Blue Squadron was destroyed in the space battle
Objective Christian they were mostly destroyed before the Death Star fired. Also keeping the blue squad would be inconsistent with a New Hope and original trilogy. I think many people are over thinking rogue one. The characters, blue squad and other extra had to be killed off. They have no place on the original episodes (trilogies).
I watched a new hope yesterday and they mention 30 small ships attacking the death star, probably the survives were there, just don't appeared on screen
The shot at 3:29 is just so cool, I just love the way the rebel transport smashes in to the star destroyer. It feels so epic and menacing and flows so naturally with the surprise of Vader's ship arriving.
anyone who bitches about the cgi of tarkin and leia only really arn't bitching about it because the pilots red leader and gold leader from new hope are both in the film fully cgi and not a single person has noticed them
I was actually really surprised when I saw them in the film. Didn't think they would put in cameos like that for such small characters from A New Hope.
Disputed some holes between rogue one and a new hope (minor ones but still caught by many). They did a good job working from a new hope (backwards to develop rogue one and also legends. Inserting cameos and homage between eE and new hope.
Regarding Blue Squadron. I just watched "A New Hope" (from the blue ray set) and actually noticed that several of the pilots getting ready for the Death Star battle have blue rebel logos on their helmets in the hangar on Yavin. But in the following battle scenes the pilots shown all have red logos on their helmets. Was there supposed to be a blue squadron back in 1978?? I don't have an early version of the movie available, so I cant really check if there was a blue squadron in the original movie.
The "stardust" file also helps to explain how the rebels were able to find the flaw in the death star in all of 20 minutes, while it had slipped by the empire; they know where to look for the flaw, and they're only looking through one file out of many. Also, clickbait title?
The problem they create in the overall timeline is the appearance of R2 and 3PO. The scene that they're in is the one right after Mon Mothma finds out that the Admiral is on scene at Scarif. They literally have no way to have gotten on board the Tantive !V which was docked on the Admiral's command ship at that moment.
Perhaps Leia and them arrived at the battle later when they knew they had the plans. It would make sense that Bail wouldn't want her in the whole star battle.
red squadron was actualy thrown together at the last moment due to the death star crisis it was comprised of the verry best pilots in the rebelion. the survivors of the battle of yavin where then granted thier own squadron "rouge squadron" that luke commanded and later wedge, tycho.
Dominic Garcia do we really know! But it makes sense that if it was them that they were killed off. Because they are not in the new hope or in the other episodes.
+Alorha Baga Well no that doesn't exactly make sense. Remember all of the expanded univserse stuff not being in the movies either? Well, back when EU was canon, all of those other ships, characters and so one were part of Star Wars without ever showing up in the movies.
1, because of this movie, I'm in full support of more pigeon holed star wars flicks. 2, I looked this up on imdb.com and found out that the Gold Leader in A New Hope, reprised his role in Rogue One. that's awesome.
That's all cool. I didn't know that. I was merely on imdb because the main villain looked familiar and while there I wanted to see if there were any other names or faces I recognized.
Red Squadron was originally Blue Squadron in the Novel of A New Hope (and I think also in the original screen play) Luke was originally supposed to be Blue 5, not Red 5. Putting Blue squadron in Rogue 1 was probably a nod to that.
I love when K-2SO says, "I've got a bad feeling about thi-" and then they shut him up. That's definitely my favorite reference to the other Star Wars movies.
that bootleg footage tho lol. but i really loved how rogue one fit so well to new hope. i suddenly feel the need to go back and watch all the star wars movies again!
I laughed with much joy and excitement when Vader's ship came out from hyper space to join the battle while the rebels were fleeing and they were crashing into his was fuckin bad ass. Not knowing yet that I was in for the biggest surprise of my life. Words can't express that scene. I think that the audience was just as scared as the rebels he slaughtered in that hallway. So much fear
s2k kyle I think in A New Hope, when someone asked how they got the plans the person with them (don't remember much, sorry) said a lot of Nathan's died to retrieve them. I don't know EXACTLY where it was said, but, I think it was in A New Hope.
actually it was the second death star, I thought it was ANH at first too, but after loooking through the scene af again it was the second death star where bothans died
I have to say this movie had a very rare cinematic moment for me, I felt the tension at the end when they were trying to get the Death Star plans out, I was actually nervous that they might fail despite having seen A New Hope many many times and knowing full well that they succeeded. Don't know about anyone else but to me it takes a lot of skill to write a scene where audience members know exactly how it's going to end and yet still enjoy the tension. Also, best Vader scene ever.
Rogue one explains why the rebels don't have a fleet of capital ships or just ships bigger than Starfighters in a new hope when in empire they have larger transports and in jedi they have a fleet of thousands of ships
The rebles at that point don't have the infrastructure to build capital ships only after the moncalamari truly joined them where they able to build ships equal to stardestroyers
I think the Blue Squadron was not in A New Hope because they were all destroyed on Scariff. But I am not sure about this, I did not count them, nor their destructions.
i don't think they all die but enough of them did die that they were no longer a full squadron and were instead place inside surviving squadron that why we see blue helmets on some shot.. particular in empire where all rouge squadron where were a hedgepod of color squadron helmets.
I watched a new hope yesterday and they mention 30 small ships attacking the death star, probably the survives were there, just don't appeared on screen
Fujtajblus So the rebels just handle Squadrones like the roman empire did with its legions. once the eagle was lost there couldn't be such a legion anymore
The Genosians started the idea and the scale of the Death Star, Gelan was just assigned to the laser because powering that things was a mystery to everyone until Gelan (or old EU version of him) said..Lets use (Kyba?) crystals! HUZZAH!
Melvin Chong genosians could've designed the base and weapon. Galen and his team could've been the ones who designed the actual power the Death Star uses to destroy. Just my thoughts
If Galen is only assigned to design the laser portion how could he possibly put a weakness in the Death Star for the rebels to exploit ? To me this is just too big a plot-hole.
My only gripe is the still-incorrect location of the superlaser "well" in the schematic. I understand that originally it was because the schematic was completed *before* the filming model was built--but as often as Lucas altered the movie with CGI, *why* was this one item *never* corrected? You'd think they would have, since Episode II showed correct plans, and Episode III's prototype had the correct location.
The one thing that bothered me about Rogue One was how Artoo and Threepio were still on Yavin 4 when Admiral Radus's fleet already left. This video basically explains that, so thanks! Now I have absolutely NOTHING to complain about when it comes to Rogue One.
I dont understand y everybody its saying that Leia´s alibi its pointless i mean Vader saw a CR90 corvette escaped but its not a unique model, and rebels r known for stealing ships, also leia clearly jump to hyper space so when they found them on top of Tatooine they can claim that is not the same ship, there r no numbers or particular sign for identification just Vader´s hunch.
Water Warrior nope...The data was beamed to the flagship. The data got to the tantive 4 through the door. I'm being a little pedantic though. Vader wouldn't have known what ship the data was sent too so I suppose he could assume it could have been transmitted to the docked ship. Great film. Better than episode 7.
The Best Star Wars movie yet! Really liked the cameos by the bar flies that assaulted Luke. One thing I did not understand is why all the variations of Stormtroopers were not seen in the other movies such as the Death Troopers. Only a small detail that really doesn't make a difference. Overall a awesome movie!
Loved it all!!! K2 surprised me & stole the show! i Really, really love Rogue1 ! This movie was all could have ask for & more!!! Now re-watching my beloved original trilogy, Rebels, &The Clone Wars, (i need to pop in Force Awakens again & the prequels... just haven't gotten there yet) again is simply AMAZING! It's like the linchpin that holds so much together!!!!
Well, Leia's ship jumps to lightspeed at the last moment so the Devastator had to track them. It could have taken minutes, hours, or days... we're not sure. In my opinion, this also explains why Leia at least tries to argue that they have nothing to do with the missing plans - Darth Vader saw their ship fly away, but who's to say that was just some other ship that happened to look the same? It's flimsy and desperate, but unless Vader actually saw Leia on the ship (which he didn't), it was worth a shot, at least in order to stall as long as possible while R2 got away.
i mean they also have the droid from rebels on yavin and they're calling one of the characters from rebels to the command center a few scenes prior. I think it's a bit more then the Outrider cameo
Nathanial Woods I rewatched Rogue One again. The Ghost or another same type of ship was in the space battle and was not affected by the Death Star's blast. My guess is that the Rebel fleet scattered to multiple locations after the Death Star plans were received in order to make it harder for the Empire to calculate where the main Rebel base was located. Also, Mom Mothma called together multiple cells when debating whether to attack or not. Those cells would have retreated to their base of operations, not Yavin 4. The base on Yavin 4 was only one faction, not the entire Rebel Alliance.
Several ships of different sizes escape into hyperspace right before Vader's Star Destroyer shows up. This includes Red Squadron, Gold Squadron and possibly the Ghost.
"The studio took a bit of a gamble by making this anthology prequel with barely any character who existed in other star wars movies." Tarkin, Leia, C3PO, R2D2, Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, Darth Vader, General Dodonna... Am I missing anyone?
This I think is my biggest issue with Rogue One, all of the coolest things about it have nothing to do with the characters we are supposed to follow and care about in the actual movie. Jyn, Cassian, Bodhi, and the kung fu bros were just not developed enough in my opinion. The connections to the old trilogy are so cool because we know those characters so well, but the most memorable thing from this film that was new was how quippy K2 was, or how much fun the rebel pilots seemed to be having even though they mostly get blown to bits.
For this particular movie I think it's better they focused more on the story and the mission they undertake rather than drawn out character explanations. And I think it's deliberate because all the main characters die in the end and to me it raises the emphasis of the story even higher.
Rogue One really represents a different subgenre of epic space opera than most if not all other Star Wars media. It's more a war film and less a war-themed drama like, say, Saving Private Ryan or adventure movie like the rest of Star Wars. Had Rogue One been a miniseries like Generation Kill or Band of Brothers it could have been fully developed into a proper mix of conflict and characters.
Rogue One's plot hole is way bigger than any plot hole in any of the other Star Wars movies. Why didn't Galen simply tell the rebels to shoot the Death Star's exhaust port instead of sending his daughter and all her friends to their deaths to get the plans?
Richie P I think because he's a prisoner. But we didn't get to hear his whole message and it was destroyed on Jeddah. Another reason they had to get the plans.
In EpIV, the rebels are very sure that a direct hit near the reactor would set off a chain reaction. I think Erso was assuming that the rebels would need the plans to find a way to exploit the reactor's weakness.
I would add that the rebel fleet that attacked scarif was only made of people loyal to raddus (or that wanted to fight) because 2/3 of the main rebel fleet (there are obviusly cells all aroud the galaxy) just said ''screw the rebellion'' when they learned about the death star on yavin. Then the death star blows up, and they are like ''hey, we should rebel again!" (opportunists)
its straight up a new hope. They just wanted to let the continuity flow. A new hope didnt had a big budget so thats why a lot of it looks a little cheap
It also cleared up the eternal question of why it took 19 years to complete the first death star and 3 years for the second. This was an awesome movie!
The Star Wars universe is more than just movies, and it still is even with Disney in charge. Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse has 4.5 stars on Amazon, if they had moved forwards and did the Sword of the Jedi trilogy, how would it have done damage?
Primus Productions again, not sure I ever said it was only a movie. I've been playing star wars games for decades, and if I felt like it I could go into each and every game I've played in great detail. I have strong feelings about the whole franchise, good and bad. And like it or not,for many people, the only thing they know of Star Wars is the films, and often not all of them. Are we finished yet? :p
Why do they use physical media in Star Wars? 1) FTL transmissions are really low quality. That is why when Vader is communicating with the Emperor in Empire, it looks grainy as hell and is a tad muffled. Anything that requires quality and/or is large needs to be transported physically. The transmission degrades over any sort of distance. 2) Droids. Look how easily R2 can hack everything. A digital system of storing everything of worth would be a huge security risk. It is actually a lot more secure to have a huge room full of small databanks like they have in this movie than try and store it anywhere electronically. One droid would just yank all data off the network and there would be no secrets.
Vention1MGTOW Typical of Hollywood? Actual question: Does Hollywood now have a habit of remaking iconic movies with switched gender roles? I don't seem to recall that ever happening before.
I still can't believe how awesome this movie was.
Ксения Ковалевская Agreed, I don't mean to be gross but that scene with Vader at the end was almost better than sex! ;)
GamerDares wins I never liked Vader when I saw those movies before. I always liked Tarkin.
Putinisgood I know
Luca salce I did say "almost" ;)
:)
That Vader corridor scene was pure GOLD!!
Dylan Fagan yep
Kinda stupid how he went on a total killing spree in the end of Rouge one and later in IV he almost does no fighting and when the lightsaber battle starts they hit each other like old ladies...

Google retcon
Rogue One is the real suicide squad! oops..
srry spoilers :(
Even better than Suicide Squad, their female lead isn't a clown.
Well.... Rogue One wasn't contaminated by Rotten Tomatoe mold!
Rogue One doesn't change A New Hope or make a new timeline... it just gives more context to the OT.
I am one with the force and the force is with me!
So say we all...
i thought it was pretty sad when he died
ARJUN RAJASEKARAN Yeah....
When he said that I was so surprised lol
Josh Smith Wax on....Wax off
Rumour has it the sequel will be directed by George Lucas and might be called 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope' however we have to wait until 1977 for its release.
I can confirm this, as I have used the force to look into the past, and confirmed that this has happened. Its going to be a ground breaking film.
Lucas changed the continuity though.
it retconned that Yoda and obi wan were the last jedi, by destroying Jedha, it becomes the main point to tarkin telling Vader that the last remenants of his dead religion and doesn't refer to all the dead jedi.
ChaoticMartian Those weren't jedi. They were something like a guard of that sacred place.
So Tarkin was right.
that's not retcon at all. Very few people know about obi wan. I suspect that no one knows of Yoda being alive.
It looks like the file size of the Death Star plans were about 1000 kilobytes lol
1024
If he meant 1024 kb he would say 1 mb.
No shit Sherlock.
Star Wars: Rogue 2
A Bothan story.
Rogue 2 was in episode 5, during Hoth battle
***** grow up
In the ending of Rogue One, we see the Corellian Corvette, getting the Death Star plans and jumped into hyperspace to the Tatooine system where Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, and Chewbacca are there.
Its funny how Bail Organa didn't age since Ep3 and Obi Wan did
David M of course he did!
David M maybe Ben is a clone of Obi-Wan
#crazytheories
David M I agreed, in eps 3 bail looks older than obiwan, and now obiwan/Ben look WAY FAR OLDER THAN him
True that! Ben was--like--100 years old in IV.
ObiWan didn't only age, he literally changed face! :D
Who else agrees that this movie was better than Force Awakens?
samdiego can't tell if it's better but I certainly enjoyed it more. I need to watch it a couple more times
It's up there with 3 and 7 as one of the best. 3-R1-7
Why does everyone love Empire Strikes Back? It's not even that good.
1. ROS
2. R1
3. TFA
4. ROJ
5. ANH
6. ESB
7. TPM
8. AOC
samdiego Yes it's a better movie. TFA just had too many flaws, beside behind a remake of ANH.
ROS number one? TFA before ANYTHING from the original trilogy? Your list is invalid, good sir. Reboot.
Leia : We're on a diplomatic mission to alderaan..
Vader: I literally just saw your ship escape with the death star plans. Like, just now.
very good video. he is right Rogue is basically for new fans who weren't there in 77' Rogue connects 3 and 4 nicely. This obviously connects the new fans to 4,5 and 6. 77' fans probably will watch Rogue just for the hell of it.

Favorite line of the year:
"I'm one with the force, and the force is with me."
so Rogue One does all the work and Leia gets all the credit? Sounds legit
Rogue One was not even an official unit and therefore they do not exists on record. Sad but true.
zam023 not true, there is a unit named "Rouge" in a New Hope named after & dedicated to Rogue One which is why they named this film that.
zam023 exactly. They weren't supported by the rebellion until they were succeeding. Sad but true.
Darkanentertainment, that would have been an unofficial homage to Rogue One, but not official acknowledgement.
Darkanentertainment Was Rogue Squadron in A New Hope or Empire?
How could a simple proton torpedo cause a chain reaction to destroy the death star? Oh, I'd recon the same way a potato stuck in the exhaust of your car and cause a catastrophic failure of the engine.
Wut?
LMAO
Sebastian Quintero Da phuc's dat?
galen said that he designed it so that a SINGLE compressed shot was enough...
***** No, unless it catches fire as a result of gaskets blowing and the like.
This movie was so good. I had low expectations to be honest but this made The Force Awakens look like a fan film lol the acting in Rogue one was better, the story was 10x better and actually made sense. And the Vader scene was absolutely perfect!

Correct. They weren't "trapped" on the planet when the Death Star fired. The planetary shield had been taken down by then.
Alorha Baga
That's what I meant. This video said they were destroyed in the superlaser firing, but that's not correct.
If I'm not mistaken I think in the ANH novel there is a blue squadron. I could be mistaken, as it's been 20 years since I read it.
I watched a new hope yesterday and they mention 30 small ships attacking the death star, probably the survives were there, just don't appeared on screen
This is probably the best Rogue One UA-cam video I've seen yet. This blew my mind!
CGI leia really creeped me out for some reason. tarkin didn't.
I was the complete opposite. Maybe because I saw Tarkin more. The CG faces are always pretty on point... it's always the mouth that gets creepy.
The creepy part about Leia is her lips are too wide.
StarWarsFreak2111 maybe that was it. idk she was just creepy.
ya i know what the uncanny valley is. it doesn't enplane why tarkin didn't bug me.
Reep 22 Now that I think about it, it does look pretty creepy.
The shot at 3:29 is just so cool, I just love the way the rebel transport smashes in to the star destroyer. It feels so epic and menacing and flows so naturally with the surprise of Vader's ship arriving.
anyone who bitches about the cgi of tarkin and leia only really arn't bitching about it
because the pilots red leader and gold leader from new hope are both in the film fully cgi and not a single person has noticed them
si2foo the pilots were not cgi, they used repurposed stock footage from a New Hope
La Estación de Larry I heard that the footage was inspiration to the director but they were CGI.
I was actually really surprised when I saw them in the film. Didn't think they would put in cameos like that for such small characters from A New Hope.
si2foo That's actually incorrect. The two pilots from ANH are old unused footage digitally inserted into the new cockpits not cgi.
si2foo they were cut/unused screens from a new hope.
Disputed some holes between rogue one and a new hope (minor ones but still caught by many). They did a good job working from a new hope (backwards to develop rogue one and also legends. Inserting cameos and homage between eE and new hope.
Love the use of pirated video footage.
many Bothans died so that we can see this footage
What's "pirated" about it? It's fair use.
Some of it looks like it was filmed in a cinema.
Alan Angel Yeah, expect that CGI Leia is not included to any trailers...
It's theirs they can use it
Regarding Blue Squadron.
I just watched "A New Hope" (from the blue ray set) and actually noticed that several of the pilots getting ready for the Death Star battle have blue rebel logos on their helmets in the hangar on Yavin.

I need the Easter Egg video so badly....

Also, clickbait title?
That file size warning sound pissed me off so much lol
There was a blue squadron in New Hope, but they changed it to Red, because the blue screen was messing it up.
Who watched A new Hope as soon as they got back from rogue one!? (I actually watched episode 4-6)
I did, and will
watched the beginning of a new hope earlier, it flows on from Rogue One really nicely.
Hey there's a empty seat where the imperial officers were there having a meeting in episode iv and maybe maybe that empty seat is KRENIC'S
It's not as bad as the fact that how starkiller base was destroyed in tfa makes no sense now
they arrived later
cs barahir maybe mon Mothma debt Leia after that? Who knows. I didn't catch that and so I presumed tantive 4 was already docked on the admirals ship.
It seems pretty improbable to dock a ship in the middle of a pitched battle, which is what they would have to have done.
red squadron was actualy thrown together at the last moment due to the death star crisis it was comprised of the verry best pilots in the rebelion. the survivors of the battle of yavin where then granted thier own squadron "rouge squadron" that luke commanded and later wedge, tycho.
It also explains why the rebel fleet was so small before ep. 5
Agree Scariff was hard and their fleet was depleted of fighters
Amazing how far this channel has come. Just went through some old videos. Good work y'all.
Really hope the crew of the ghost weren't killed on Scarriff :P
Jamie Quirke I hope they did
jhon doe No they weren't
Dominic Garcia do we really know! But it makes sense that if it was them that they were killed off. Because they are not in the new hope or in the other episodes.
+Alorha Baga
Well no that doesn't exactly make sense.
Remember all of the expanded univserse stuff not being in the movies either? Well, back when EU was canon, all of those other ships, characters and so one were part of Star Wars without ever showing up in the movies.
The German Mason most of the EU books were made from the episodes. That's why they weren't in there.
It makes perfect sense- all of it. 😉
1, because of this movie, I'm in full support of more pigeon holed star wars flicks.
2, I looked this up on imdb.com and found out that the Gold Leader in A New Hope, reprised his role in Rogue One. that's awesome.
Miklós Nagy he'll be 70 next October. And his name is Angus MacInnes. I just double checked.
Jake Elwood they also had some other pilots from a new hope and edited them and put them in the film
Jake Elwood They used unused footage from "a new hope" pilots. :)
That's all cool. I didn't know that. I was merely on imdb because the main villain looked familiar and while there I wanted to see if there were any other names or faces I recognized.
But no Porkins!
That robotic arm they used to get the server file looked so cool though
Red Squadron was originally Blue Squadron in the Novel of A New Hope (and I think also in the original screen play) Luke was originally supposed to be Blue 5, not Red 5. Putting Blue squadron in Rogue 1 was probably a nod to that.
Screw Rogue One.That one Vader scene is what really made it all worth it(Im joking, the movie was awesome ^_^)
The file size joke to reload into the astromech was so hopping hilarious!
Great review!!! Very detailed and unbiased. I think I'll be subscribing moving forward
Why are people commenting about Bothans? They had NOTHING to do with stealing the plans for the first Death Star.
s2k kyle I think in A New Hope, when someone asked how they got the plans the person with them (don't remember much, sorry) said a lot of Nathan's died to retrieve them. I don't know EXACTLY where it was said, but, I think it was in A New Hope.
actually it was the second death star, I thought it was ANH at first too, but after loooking through the scene af again it was the second death star where bothans died
At this point, I think the people who ask about Bothans are just trolling.
Tolland and most like prequels fans.
the Bothans stole the *2nd DS's* plans!!
Also, best Vader scene ever.
can't wait for episode 6.5: how ben turn evil
I think they will explain it in episode 8. Flachback mode
LOVE the Hype Bros theme tune at the end :D
2:21 of COURSE Leia was on Yavin 4 during Rogue 1, we see her two droids there!!!!!
Fujtajblus they weren't.
i don't think they all die but enough of them did die that they were no longer a full squadron and were instead place inside surviving squadron that why we see blue helmets on some shot.. particular in empire where all rouge squadron where were a hedgepod of color squadron helmets.
Fujtajblus lol a new hope didn't plant for a sequel to it....lol but it was homage to how red squadron came to be....
I watched a new hope yesterday and they mention 30 small ships attacking the death star, probably the survives were there, just don't appeared on screen
Fujtajblus So the rebels just handle Squadrones like the roman empire did with its legions. once the eagle was lost there couldn't be such a legion anymore
Awesome video, no complaining no bashing, just pure info.
they should have just calld this Suicide Squad: a star wars story
It was so much better than Suicide Squad though, besides the choppy editing in the beginning.
Saving Private Rogue.
What I did love about Rogue One was the 70's technology through out the galaxy. Tech just stayed there and grew...
My main gripe is who is the real designer of the Death Star, Galen Erso or the Genosians from AOTC ?
Because the laser was like 45% of that station ;) Plus he had to have unlimited access to the reactor to help with the power situation.
The ending was just amazing, and could not have fitted in better
"New Timeline"
DAMMIT BARRY
Barry Allen always fuckin up the timeline
OMG why does Barry Chang e the timeline not killing his mother he's so stupid
Croc Block 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
The one thing that bothered me about Rogue One was how Artoo and Threepio were still on Yavin 4 when Admiral Radus's fleet already left. This video basically explains that, so thanks! Now I have absolutely NOTHING to complain about when it comes to Rogue One.
Where was Porkins?
Nit Picker apparently he was replaced with a asian version that also met his demise.
Speaking of Wedge, I wish he was at Scarif with ths squad since he already defected to the Rebellion in Rebels.
Nick Alvarez that was the original Red Five who died, hinting at Luke becoming the new Red Five in A New Hope
Nick Alvarez yes wedge was already fighting and tip pilot in a new hope. You'd think he'd be in rogue.
Nit Picker in McDonald's
I dont understand y everybody its saying that Leia´s alibi its pointless i mean Vader saw a CR90 corvette escaped but its not a unique model, and rebels r known for stealing ships, also leia clearly jump to hyper space so when they found them on top of Tatooine they can claim that is not the same ship, there r no numbers or particular sign for identification just Vader´s hunch.
What about the line about how vader intercepted transmissions to the tantive 4? There were no transmissions. It was a data disc.
It was a transmission from the plannet to the flagship, to the Tantive IV
Water Warrior nope...The data was beamed to the flagship. The data got to the tantive 4 through the door.
I'm being a little pedantic though. Vader wouldn't have known what ship the data was sent too so I suppose he could assume it could have been transmitted to the docked ship. Great film. Better than episode 7.
Francisco Arcos good point.
Peter James Ledwith exactly!!!!
I caught that right away.
Riz Ahmeds character sent a transmission before the data was sent up.
Yeah, um, I don't see how any of this was "cleared up" by Rogue One. All of this was pretty clear in A New Hope.
I think we watched different episode IVs
serrocXIII a new hope didn't have to be cleaned up at all.
Rogue one is just a movie to show how the plans were stolen.
so funny when he says: i am one with the force and the force is with me.
cant wait for the next ep
BattleAxeAlex can't wait for "Rogue Two" :'D
christian diaz there won't be a new rogue one
i meant the next newrockstar ep were he does all the analysis
The next anthology film will be The Binks Awakens.
Saw Rogue One last night...just 1 nerdgasm after another! I love when Vader came on the scene and started kicking ass!
I saw the ghost from Star Wars rebels almost being shot down by tie fighters.
Well, series has to end somehow.
but was the original crew there? remember on Yavin they say; "General Syndula, please report to the briefing room"
0:24 i would say more of 3.8 or 3.9 bc its literally days before ep4
It ends 10 minutes before ANH
Your friendly neighborhood Star Nomad Nah it ends literally in ANH
3.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999
My thought exactly!! Both occur in 0 BBY
5:42 Bwahahaha! I love this part of the video. The sound effect is badass af!
Damn it that means the Ghost crew going to die to the death star! :(
it's just there, an easter egg, just like the Outrider in ANH and the Falcon in the prequels.
i mean they also have the droid from rebels on yavin and they're calling one of the characters from rebels to the command center a few scenes prior. I think it's a bit more then the Outrider cameo
Nathanial Woods The Ghost was in the space battle not on the surface so there is no need to worry.
Yessssss. This is the best chanel on UA-cam. Keep rocking it.
"The studio took a bit of a gamble by making this anthology prequel with barely any character who existed in other star wars movies."
Tarkin, Leia, C3PO, R2D2, Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, Darth Vader, General Dodonna... Am I missing anyone?
Luca salce gold leader from episode 4 was in there
Ponda Boba and Dr. Evazan...
Most of whom were barely in it...
That last scene with the Rebel soldiers trying to fight Darth Vader is one of THE most intense moments in Star Wars!
The video title is a big FALSE lie. There was no change to the "timeline", and this movie changes NOTHING in A New Hope.
Be careful not to choke on your aspirations
Great video! Can't get enough of this movie!
A New Hope happens after Rogue One. There.
Great vid! And had me chuckling the whole way through. Followed, and keep it up!
Dat pirated footage doh
Vader racking up the body count at the end was epic. The sheer terror of that scene and the looks on the faces...
The Death Star is huge, they would have no idea where the hole is
SwatTeamExit watch the pilots' briefing in Episode 4. Galen could have told them everything in that brief and then some.
No not all death troopers are dead. There are various squads of them to other high officials
Tyler Crebs isn't it in the concept book that they were the personal guard of Krennic?that would make the pack of 10 the only ones
Tyler Crebs Maybe because Krennic died, they stop making the squad
YES SOMETHING TO WATCH AT 11:18 AT NIGHT
Any 1 else noticed in rogue one that vaders suit was like really large? like xl suit compared to the other movies?
Yup, noticed that too. Especially his helmet seemed too wide or something. He was still cool, but a little off...
Julian Lankhorst Aye. At first i thought it was the movie theatre screen but nope. Only thing i can complain about in the movie is the suit.
Lol yeah, I thought that too! I watched it in Imax, which has a curved screen, I thought that caused it.
its straight up a new hope. They just wanted to let the continuity flow. A new hope didnt had a big budget so thats why a lot of it looks a little cheap
Max Krampe Yea but even in new hooe it was not that big. And yes probably because of the actor inside it
It also cleared up the eternal question of why it took 19 years to complete the first death star and 3 years for the second. This was an awesome movie!
Don't care what anyone says, Kyle Katarn sent the rebels the Death Star plans.
I second that
Indeed.
"I am one with the Force, the Force is with me".
That line is weirdly catchy
I am so glad that we are able to say that Disney have,(so for)done a fantastic job of keeping the Star Wars universe alive and kicking.
>Implying it wasn't always.
Primus Productions hmmm...trying to see where I implied that. but they certainly could have done a lot of damage moving forward.
I hope they don't remake A new hope with Luke as a woman. That would be typical of Hollywood these days.
They did that already.
Vention1MGTOW Typical of Hollywood? Actual question: Does Hollywood now have a habit of remaking iconic movies with switched gender roles? I don't seem to recall that ever happening before.
Dylan Hallila
The remake of Battlestar galactica comes to mind. So does that Trainwreck of a movie Ghostbusters. It's a cause for mild concern.
I think it's awesome how Rogue one ends like, 1 minute before the begining of a new hope
