About the Festival
Established in 1987, Melbourne International Comedy Festival (#MICF) is one of the three largest comedy festivals in the world, alongside Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival.
Over the last week of March and into April every year, #MICF transforms Melbourne into the comedy capital of the world, as local and international comedians take to theatres, pubs, clubs and broom cupboards citywide - shining a spotlight on the silly, the serious, the heart-breaking and the hilarious.
With hours of comedy content every Festival, this channel delivers some of the highlights over the years. Delve into the archive of comedy with international stars (such as: Katherine Ryan, Michael Che, Sara Pascoe, Trevor Noah), home-grown #aussiecomedy heroes (including: Hannah Gadsby, Josh Thomas, Aunty Donna, Ronny Chieng) and so many more! To find out what’s happening in Australian comedy, head to our website: www.comedyfestival.com.au
He has such a unique style - superficially a simple Aussie bogan, but the gags themselves are Japanese-knife-sharp wit. Absolutely brilliant talent!
Love the carefully thought out detail of his script and brilliant delivery. First laugh I have had in a long time! Thank you Luke.
My favourite comedy find of 2022 - absolutely love this style of humour. Come to the UK, please!
Great work. You were lucky the audience was filled with unicorns who still understood what irony is 👍🙂
He bombs terribly while working on this stuff. He talks about terrible moronic crowds on his podcast.
That was beyond hilarious
Saw him last night at the festival. He was fantastic. Even got a meet with him and a photo.
Top caaaaarnt!
Heggie is one of the best to ever do it from AUS/NZ
Should be running the country
Very clever one of my favourites
This is great, not enough of this edgy stuff in aus comedy atm
farken' brilliant (and pretty courageous too...)
Do you mean if someone who is irony deficient takes it all too seriously and doesn't get the underlying message cutting through all of the decoy red flags?
Then marks him down as a philistine in the comments? Or worse still, misses the point and applauds him as a fellow philistine?
Yeah I agree to it being risky with a few certain people alien to the home grown nuance of Aussie humour in general. I do think though that the laughter and applause from the home audience, of equally appreciative mixed citizens covering all diversities, might make them think twice.

Very good!
Strayas best 😂🤘🇦🇺
has been for years!! I feel like he wouldn't know it or even care the way he just goes about it.
Makes you think doesn't it.
Ding.😂
@@gusdrivinginaustralia6168 More chilli!
On another note, LH whinges about the possibility of podcast fans turning up to shows just to shout catch-phrases. Well here we are.
@@yowie0889 yeah I won't be doing it to him at his shows. I just want to see it as intended.
@@gusdrivinginaustralia6168 Agreed. I've seen LH live a couple of times and MFB live once. Have tickets to LH for this Comedy Festival season. You certainly don't want to interrupt the flow of the jokes by shouting something out.
More 🌶 indeed
😂😂😂
😂
…. The Gala overall was So woke it was cringeworthy 😢. Great that Luke was involved though.
This politically correct garbis sponsored by tax payers? Now that's a joke ...
