When for rent was announced I built a massive beach apartment and when I fond out I couldn't build apartments on beach lots I was genuinely so disappointed.

I do wonder if there’s a way you can mod the game to let you build them on beach lots. It would probably cause a lot of bugs knowing ts4 tho 💀
Probably because they want to make a hotel pack and make you pay for it 🫣
@@TwistedCyclonix there would be a mod, but sadly a mod like that exists for building basements and pools but the way maxis coded waterfront lots means it breaks the ocean routing, so sims can walk like on normal grass in the water that's in the lot boundaries :/ that's why you can't build on penthouse lots/waterfronts rentals sadly
@@TwistedCyclonixI saw I think Syd Mac do a terrain manipulation to make a beach lot and build on that. Both a crazy amount of effort and cool to build your own beach

I was born and currently live in Texas and RARELY IF EVER go to the beaches. One of the reasons is because virtually none of them are wheelchair accessible and once when I tried to visit Galveston I got stuck in the sand with a previous power chair.
@@InsoIence Well imagine thousands of people leaving bottles, trash, and who knows what else all over the beach during the summer with so many people vising that more gets left faster than it can be picked up. They start out relatively clean, but by the end of the big beach visiting months, it's a mess.

Omg! I just built rentals in sulani too (on a beach lot first before realizing i had to move it 😭) but they are detatched beach houses and i put them on the shipwreck lot by the volcano c: i added a pont tp simulate the houses going into the water but its not swimmable that way... But i felt it was fine given hom much water surrounds that place lol. Looove the vibes here 🥰

You should make apartments for the lot surrounded by roads in the growing together world I think it would fit in with the environment really well

19:00 I'm almost certain that the camera flew into the sky because some of the "secret" controls for buy mode (resizing or raising/lowering, can't remember which) are also the same buttons for "set a camera checkpoint" and "return camera to checkpoint" so if you don't hold down Ctrl or whatever every time, the camera will just fly to wherever you last used those controls
I would love to see vampire apartments, especially if it was done by making a Victorian house and configuring apartments within it in that way that happens in real life, where they're all a little weird because the house wasn't meant to be apartments

I think my gallery is broken, because it DOES NOT work like that. I can't even search for builds that have ONLY the packs that I have, it searches for builds that INCLUDES the only packs that I have. WHY WOULD I WANT THAT?!

hey kayla, i've been wondering how can u move windows and doors freely? bc I've used the bb.moveobjects cheats and it just do the up and down, not sideways
hold the alt key when you move them! it should let you drag stuff freely for the most part :)
I prefer them all being furnished because I enjoy watching it and I love when you don't restrict pack usage and just let your creativity flow!
Agree 100%, I love how she considers those of us without all the packs but I like to watch the builds for the creativity and not having all the packs restricts what you can do

Heres a tip for future building refrences, My studio apartment is too small for a dining table, but the kitchen is fridge, a stove and a sink, with one cabnet with a dishwasher that i set my microwave on, then in front of it, theres a long island that i use for majority of food prep. i think some people forget that its normal for houses/ apartments to not have a dining room table, but this build is still suoer cute, love it
Agree. Most new builds with one bedrooms only have island seating. My apartment could fit a dining table but would be very tight.
@@sophiag612 same here, I could fit a mini dining table if i really wanted too, but i would have to get rid of my art storage stand, and i dont want to do that so eating on the counter or couch is good enough for me lol
I think Sulani might be my favorite world in TS4--even more than Windenburgh. It's just SO beautiful and I love living on the ocean side lots. I play in it all the time. Even tho Island Living is kind of shallow gameplay wise, they nailed the aesthetics so hard that the world has been worth the price for me. And I really appreciate how the pack emphasizes Sulani as a place people actually live, not just somewhere for vacation like the previous tropical worlds in the sims. I like that they did that with Tomarang too but that world is just so small! I've found myself pretty much bouncing between playing in Sulani and playing in Mt Komorebi for the last couple years in my game and it's been SO much fun. If there's one thing the sims 4 has done way better than previous sims games, it's been getting out of just being a suburban America simulator

I did a similar build and found that Cats and Dogs surprisingly has a lot of great nautical themed decorations, like hanging buoys and whatnot. It was pretty great for a sulani beach house.

I can't remember if you've already done an occult townhouse situation, but I feel like that might be fun?? Maybe not all of the occults in one lot, but a couple of them? And if you've already done one, maybe use a different set of occults? Currently my brain is mermaid and alien, because you've posted some alien builds lately and this one is Sulani, but that might be a little ridiculous? LOL. Maybe a vampire and a werewolf, or a spellcaster and a mermaid, or something?

As someone who lives in Texas, you’re absolutely correct in ceiling fans being helpful. I recently moved from an apartment to a two story house without ceiling fans, and it sucks! Heat and humidity gets stuck up there, and turning on the AC just causes the second floor to be cold while the top floor stays at an okay temperature 😢
This lot would be perfect for a Sulani vacation rental. I could totally see my sims having a girls weekend here, or a full family trip in paradise! Love the build, makes me excited for summer!!

Hey Kayla! Just letting you know, people who don’t have for rent can’t download this lot because it is labeled as a rental. I would really recommend saving it as just a normal lot, or both even! That way more people can use the build 😊 and future builds ofc

You can still find a lot to be gorgeous, watch the video, and build one yourself that’s suited to your needs. But Kayla’s allowed to build whatever she wants, which… shocker… might include packs not everyone has.
Her builds are so much better when she’s not handicapping herself to make it base game/starter budget just to please everyone else.

I want to get the for rent pack because it would make building so much more fun (especially since I love making apartments and British style homes) but it’s so buggy that it’s not worth $40 to me.

I have never really been someone to complain about video games because I know what it takes to make one, but seriously. EA is lucky they have such a dedicated fanbase because they really have the most expensive games around and yet little to no respect for the fan base.
I couldn't in good faith work on the sims team, knowing the sims are the most expensive games around, riddled with bugs, crashes, performance issues, and constant lagging. They don't even try to fix anything. It's just a race to the finish to scalp as mash money off people as possible. Eventually, it will get to the point that it won't be playable for most people, and then they will drop sims 5 and start over again.
I am begging for ex sims employees to do a tell all because I can only imagine all the crap EA puts them through but I bet they got those NDAs on lock

Okay this is the second video where Kayla has had like a weird zooming issue and I'm SO glad it's not just me, I feel like the zoom controls in the Sims have been super wonky since the Crystal Creations pack came out. I zoom in a little and suddenly I'm all the way across the lot. I thought I was going nuts lol

I personally would prefer it be full furnished just because building is not my thing. and once I'm done with a sim I don't want to be bother will the furnishing. but it's my personal preference.

Hey does this happened to anyone else where you go to build mode on a lot and it let you place things but they wouldn't show up? Not even walls work and when i try to leave the buged lot i get stuck on a loading screen forever. If anyone has tips please share :,)

That industrial "shiplap" wall texture is emulating the look of concrete walls cast between wooden boards! It does look really beachy and light when you put it in a build like this tho

I wish I could make the apartments in San myshuno residential rentals as well specifically the penthouses. That one giant penthouse with the basketball court could definitely have 2 or 3 two story units with a shared outdoor/pool area and a elevator lobby room

Hey, I have a challange for you. A build without using the color blue, any shade of blue not even the tiniest speckle.
Would be interesting to see if that's even possible, knowing so many items in TS4 are blue/have a blue swatch. It's crazy how much blue is used in this game. xD

It does gives me realism, in my country you are not allowed to "own" the ocean or beaches, so you are not allowed to build in 100 m from the beginning of the beach if it's not a social services, like restaurants and even than they don't own the building , it's the country that gives the power to the city to govern that own them. so no private beach hotels, as the sea is for the people.
How about a townhouse for Windenburg? Or Strangerville? Oasis Springs? You can create a hotel-like lot with a pool by the Desert Bloom park. Where the Landgrabs used to live. ;) That could be the next career for the next heir in the Nightmare legacy challenge. Really, because being the landlord is a nightmare itself--ask James Turner--and it would fit right in with the legacy.
it definitely doesn't make sense. why not program for rent to work on the beach front apartments?? that's so silly... anyways I LOVED the build. it looks so lovely!!!!!
They really need to let you split up more lots into different types like a bar lot with a residential rental above it. But while I recognize that might be complicated, I think it would be simple enough to make vacation rentals a multi-unit lot like residential so that builds like this could be split into three vacation houses.
Please build apartments in glimmerbrook! One can have the cauldron, one can do gemology, and one could be a sneaky werewolf!
Something about Sulani, don't get me wrong but, the world itself is undeniably excellent and nice looking, however the builds within it are lackluster, and devoid of creativity. Leaving me uninspired to go there in my playthroughs.
My information is definitely being tracked, because I just yesterday built an apartment building on this lot but I’m only seeing this video now 😂 (Mine is a retro style beach motel converted into studio and one bedroom apartments)

Building on sulani is awful, I always give up because it just doesn't work. Finally made a house yesterday and turns out the gameplay is bugged on that lot and my sims keep spawning across the island
You making these based off the sims 3 resort towers really makes me want to boot up the sims 3 and play with a resort. I have a save with one and I’m tempted to boot up my gaming pc to play it >:3
