I also find Greg's KH idea for everyone interesting. Maybe just a treachery card, meaning Atreides still has an advantage to gain it, a special worm so that next/previous/opposite player in storm order gets it, adding it to discovery tokens, first player to commit to solo in each Nexus...
I'm no game designer, so this idea would probably break the game in a number of ways that I haven't considered, but I thought there might a "golden path" (sorry I couldn't resist) between spice dialers and spice dial haters by adding this ability: During a nexus phase any Great House of the Landsraad (so not the Fremen, Choam, Spacing Guild, BG, etc.) could declare Kanly against another great house, and until that vendetta was satisfied (maybe with a loss tracker, death of a particular leader, or perhaps just the next nexus phase) they don't have to spice dial against each other when their forces come into conflict. This would at least let non-dialers play with dialers and not be limited to only playing Fremen all the time. And they'd still have to spice dial against non-vendetta enemies, so it would would still expose them to spice dialing unless they strictly limited who they target. I don't have a regular group to playtest this, so I'm just spitballing here, but I thought it might be interesting to have a formal Kanly declaration in the game, and I couldn't think of a better time than during a nexus (probably before alliances are chosen). Of course you couldn't ally with and have a vendetta against the same faction at the same time. Crazy idea, or some sliver of merit? And has anyone already tried something like this?
I just noticed the Legendary Pictures logo on the GameFound, is this a standard thing (because Legendary has some form of control over Dune rights?) or is it implying that the new edition will be tied-in with the movies?
About translations, is there any possibility of GF9 reaching out to the community to offer themselves as translators, and possibly even proofreaders? I'm not suggesting for free, rather that professional translators who are already Dune-game fans to present tentative bids and credentials to GF9. I'm positive that there are qualified translator gamers in key languages, or at least gamers who can help their translator friends make it right. Plus get native language gamers proofread the translations before publishing - this could be volunteers, and it's essentially play testing the text
@@MarsVoltaic they do have a team they have worked with. It’s not so much the process- it’s economics. They can only do a translation if it makes sense sales wise. Expansion 3 did not have a big push for translation because the translation they did do for expansion 2 didn’t sell enough. I suspect it is part of their current calculus.
For sure a key issue, though I've heard that sometimes the translations weren't always done well, which is why I think getting at least one native speaking Duner already (very) familiar with the rules could do wonders with ensuring we all have the same base RAW. Also I saw on BGG recently a thread maybe GF9 should reflect on. It pointed out a side issue of having to buy exp. 3 only in English is with the cards' backs being in different languages makes it easier to spot exp. 3 content. Colored sleeves could be a workaround, but maybe GF9 considers having only logos and no text at all on card backs for the KH edition 🤷♂️
One of the errors of the game in spanish is that they translated "clockwise" as "left" (it should be "sentido horario"), and that brings up many discussions for those who are just starting to play the game.
@@leonardokuntscher7857 some similar notions though not with the spice dialing element. The trouble is when limiting things to just Great Houses- in the base game, half the players wouldn’t be able to do it, and you could have games where 5 of 6 factions can’t. :(
What about to add Neutral Faction Leaders for hiring(single combat, or for rest of game after hiring or till his elimination), max of 4, strength 2,3,4,5. None Traitors(none extra traitor are needed), they are loyal to theirs contract. Price for contract is its strength value.

Will be there be new art or will the Ilya art be reused?
@@knightonart8886 I don’t expect all new art.
It would be very nice to know if the KHE is a new edition or a deluxe edition.
