- Okay, maybe using fingers as a toothbrush isn't exactly Dentist Recommended..... but works as a nice gum massage for RonRon!

Ron is a pet red fox I bought from a licensed exotic animal breeder, in Oklahoma, captive-bred and hand-raised. My state of Arkansas allows pet foxes without any permit needed.
He enjoys a large outdoor habitat and also a small indoor caged spot in my living room. Foxes are said to make 'bad' pets, but I would rather say foxes make wonderful pets!... just rather destructive, moody pets, NOT FOR CHILDREN (they BITE... soft, medium, AND HARD... you have to learn exactly when to stop petting them!).

You should feel comfort in that you gave a wild animal a happy life, even on his last few days he is still as happy as he always was. You're a good guy :)
RonRon was NOT a wild animal. He was purchased from a breeder and kept as a pet his whole life. To him, this was his home and this place was all he knew.
True but animals have natural instincts that are implanted before birth.
Darryl Pigeon That's true in most cases, but I've read that these natural instincts are being bred out to produce a fox more suitable for being a pet just like how dogs were first bred from wolves.

There was a Russian geneticist that started a breeding experiment back in the 1950's to isolate the genes that make dogs easier to train. He was very close to accomplishing that goal when he died in the 1980's. A lot of these foxes have ended up in homes across the US. Older foxes become way less of a spazz if you didn't know
They feel that they dont have any energy, it was the same with my dog too, he was so happy but from one day to the other he was tired and pretty sad, 3 days later, i woke up to find him dead besides me. Normally he sleeps on the floor but that day, he was head to head to me but he didnt live anymore. It was special and sad to wake up to that but it was good to see that he decided to die besides me, not on the cold floor

According to Google red foxes can live up to 2 to 4 years RonRon was lucky to live close to 8 year :)
You are right. They do live up to 2 to 4 years... In the wild. Very short. But domestic foxes live a long time.

I found Ron Ron at a time in my life when I was struggling with depression so badly, sometimes I couldn't even get out of bed. Every time I would watch a video of him playing, or sharing time with Eric, I would feel love and joy knowing that was in our universe. Ron Ron was a beacon of bright light in a world that can be so dark. Ron Ron definitely got his wings, and has touched more people in his short life than some people will with an entire lifetime. Thank You Ron Ron, more than you could ever know!
