Ron is a pet red fox I bought from a licensed exotic animal breeder, in Oklahoma, captive-bred and hand-raised. My state of Arkansas allows pet foxes without any permit needed.
He enjoys a large outdoor habitat and also a small indoor caged spot in my living room. Foxes are said to make 'bad' pets, but I would rather say foxes make wonderful pets!... just rather destructive, moody pets, NOT FOR CHILDREN (they BITE... soft, medium, AND HARD... you have to learn exactly when to stop petting them!).

I have always wanted a pet fox and every time I see Ron Ron, it makes me want one even more.
Just dont forget, they're very difficult pets X3 cutie patooties, but what we don't see is how hard it is and time consuming and expensive it is to properly own one.

Fascinating to see the domestication and natural instincts combined. As an urbanite, allergic to pets, I know nothing about our animal brothers & sisters.
This fox reminds me of both dog & cat traits. I recall a PBS type documentary on a Russian study done on feral silver foxes, wherein they bred them for docile traits, and ended up with certain specific pet dog traits.
After all, the diversity of dog breeds boggles the mind, when one thinks about the variety we've derived from wolves.
We are very blessed that certain animals have been domesticated, and that we may enjoy them as companions.
I am so happy you use best practice protocols, and model this for us all.
