  • We discuss how to perform data linearization to determine experimental quantities from the slope and intercept of a data plot. This technique is useful for experimental design; it helps you choose what to measure and what to plot. We also discuss how to linearize an expected exponential behaivor witih a semilog (or semi-log) plot.

    How can 2Jw^2all divided by 5Q be equivalent to 2J/5Q.w^2?

      My intention is for the w^2 to be in the numerator in both cases. Indeed, [2J/(5Q)] * w^2 and 2Jw^2 / (5Q) mean the same thing, or at least that was my intention. Apologies for any confusion that the typesetting may have caused.

      I think the 5Q in your expression needs parentheses around the 5Q to match what I intended. Make it (5Q), and then we are saying the same thing. I moved the w^2 over to the right of the fraction to get it into y=mx+b form.
      I probably should have typed it as
      B = [2J/(5Q)] w^2 + 8 lambda to be clearer. I appreciate the feedback.
