As a minister by profession and an artist by hobby, I find these depictions refreshingly faithful to the text, and also to the spirit of the text. Much of the Bible is deliberately terrifying, and you have captured that well. Thank you! If you make another sculpture, I would love to see the cherub. I've never seen a cherub captured in a way that was both faithful to the text and visually coherent.

I have a Christian faith, and it is frankly refreshing to see such an honest artistic approach to these beings described in the texts. But I also really appreciate you being kind and energetic throughout these two vids so far. It's easy for people to poke fun at people who believe in supernatural elements. @@bethdibella550 Yes, the Bible warns of idolatry, but idolatry requires one to be worshipping sometimes that isn't God. Crafting something in honor of God's word isn't worshipping the thing, it's worshipping God through the skills he has given us.

The 4th beast was really something, I also envisioned a lizard like type, almost like a dinosaur, but what you made is so much cooler than what I envisioned. I also really love how you drew the cherub angels, it isn’t always easy to envision the four faces, but you did good, I think they are beautiful creations
@@edgecruz4832 Thats a tall order lol. I reread it to refresh my memory. Essentially, from what I understood and from looking at the studies of other's who have researched it, i think we can rightly conclude that the first three beasts would have been the major ruling powers from Daniels time onward. Babylon being the first, followed by the Medo-Persian empire, the leopard being the Grecian empire, the four wings and the animal indicating the speed at which Alexander the great conquered and the four heads being his 4 Generals who took leadership after his death. Followed naturally by the roman empire being the unusually fierce beast. However the 10 horns symbolize 10 kings coming from that empire. I am curious to think that it isn't specifically 10 actual world powers, but as the number 10 in a biblical sense often refers to an earthly complete number, the 10 horns symbolize all the following world powers that grew off from the roman world power. As for the horn that grows in place of 3 horns, and speaks blasphemous words, this perhaps seems like a final world power that will ultimately fight against God and those who follow him as Christians. I often think this horn is represented as the Wild beast in Revelation, for it also wages war against the "holy ones' or saints for 3 and a half times. It could very well be that this Horn that grows from this beast could be a new world power or one world government, perhaps under the UN's control? they try to establish Peace and Security as is said in 1 Thess. 5:3 this of course leading to the battle of Armegeddon? Really though I think the final part of the vision is yet to happen

Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome are all represented in those beasts. Viewing nations as beasts with chimeric features based on their behavior. Love the art! It's great to see these things rendered into such well-made sculptures.

Nebuchadnezzar's dream about the descent of empire was based on material things, an idol stratified according to the quality of each layer of dead metal and stone. He saw it based on the deteorioration of value in each subsequent system of governance. Until the stone cut without hands - an unpolluted living stone as God told Abraham that a stone cut by man's hands is polluted, that is, slain - smashes into the statue's mixed and weakened feet. This stone shatters the entire empire of man into dust and grows into a mountain. Hence the reason why he erected an idol of solid gold, because it was a statement that said, "My kingdom will be eternal." Daniel's dream allows us to see the difference between the Chaldean king and the Judaen prince, in the very essence of their subconscious minds, the depths of their souls when you consider 'nephesh' is both soul and mind. While Nebuchadnezzar had dreamt of an idol, Daniel's dream has parallels in that it is the same progression of time, however rather than an idol of dead stone he is presented with a procession of living creatures that arise from the great sea. Revelation provides the interpretation for what waters symbolize: Multitudes of peoples, nations, and tongues. So these beasts are coalescing from large populations and their nuances are similar to the layers of the statue. Babylon, majestic and powerful, the wings symbolize the swiftness of its conquest. Once its wings are plucked, the end of its rapid expansion, it is set up on its feet like a man and given the heart of a man as it rules. Medo-Persia, large yet voracious, with the Persian 'shoulder' rising higher than the Medes. It devoured the flesh of many nations. To understand what Revelation is talking about requires Daniel, because it provides a key to the symbolism. What was sealed at the end of Daniel is unsealed in Revelation.
For anyone interested, the four beasts represent four of the strongest empires in history: The lion for Babylon, bear for Persian, leopard for Greek, and the final monster for the Roman empire. Also the interesting part is after they are described it brings up the Son of Man who will bring about a fith kingdom. This is a reference to the return of Christ.
If Jazza wants a Challenge, he should do the Celestial Chariot that the Cherubs stand beside It'd also be fun to see him do Seraphs and the Four Horsemen
Seraphim would be epic, but the charriot would be pretty tough accomplish. It would be cool if he depicts the seraphim like firey serpents (as they are described Biblically).
You should start 3D scanning each sculpture you make not only for your own records but so fans could print their own little versions, which could lead to paint contests customisation to take for example a bust and complete creature and could lead to a whole new vertical of content for the channel, just an idea.
@bethdibella550 I appreciate your sensitivity, but God commanded the engraving of images of supernatural beings for the tabernacle and temple in the old testament. Images themselves are not idolatry, only the worship of them.
Selfishly I wanna see the 7 Headed Dragon because it's badass. The accurate angels? I think really the most difficult part of that would just be the posing, getting the interlocking/woven rings to stay put whilst you sculpted. The Cherub however... That's gotta be the hardest of the lot for sure! Not just the base pose but the second pair of wings wrapping over but not fully around the lower torso & hands, the hooved feet, the four very different faces! The open wings need to be quite large & imposing to hold a creature like this upright whilst floating too. For you Jazza a bit of a nightmare, for us? It'll unbelievably impressive when finished!

no that is false ...do not follow a non christian. He is using Gods words to entertain ppl. Making graven images that is not what the bible said. Each animal represents a nation. For example: the Lion represents England and the bear is Russia. Hmm may God bless you with wisdom. You need to follow Gods words and not by what humans do. @tinkerbell2675 listening and believing words are one thing, having a visual representation to think about when your doing your devotions is another thing entirely. I'm not saying he is preaching the good news or that Christians need to flock to him as theor source of visual aids. Just that his visual aids helped me as a very unartistic person visual some of the beings I found harder to picture on my own. I understand the parables, however to see them crafted out just gives me (and assumably others) a mental picture for later when reading those parables. The artists take on the visuals does not take away from the importance of the parables they are from. We can indeed have both as they do not oppose each other. Much like Leonardo being a theist more than a devoted Christian. Yet, many of his commissioned pieces were churches or altars. He gave us The Last Supper, The Virgin of The Rocks, The Virgin and The Child with St Anne, etc. "Leonardo formed in his mind a conception so heretical as not to approach any religion whatsoever, he esteemed being a philosopher." It is a piece of media meant to entertain people while at the same time giving Christians a better look at what the Bible says to more easily understand it. Dreamworks, the company that made it, isn't inherently Christian themselves. Would you want to not watch the movie simply because it wasn't made by Christians?
@@tinkerbell2675you do realize that even if each beast was metaphysical, Daniel still saw them. If the artist was a believer they would still have a similar outcome in depiction. He was as literal as anyone could be.

Fun Fact: The Creature with 10 horns later has them merge into one that spews obscenities That said, for the Cherubs, Jazza should also read Ezekial 10, which gives more details to their appearance (verse 12 specifically confirms a ton of eyes), but props for been so accurate anyways
It did bother me that he missed the detail with the eyes but he did a great job and I loved his design of the cherub. I would love to see him perfect his drawing and maybe even sculpt it (I know that’s a large task but I saw his video with a wood carving and I think a biblically accurate cherub wood carving could be gorgeous)
I think the Cherubim would be the most interesting creature to create. The different faces and wings would be complex but engaging, and I’m interested to see how the burnished skin would be achieved. How easy would it be to achieve the ethereal? The Fourth Beast is epic! I love the skin texture and the smoky nostrils look awesome - he looks so imperious and aloof! I reckon Jazza needs to pick up a copy of The Golden Legend - basically all the biblical/Catholic legends that grew after the biblical stories became established. It’s a fascinating read
I vote for the seven headed dragon 🐉 i think the seraphim would be funny to watch, but actually impossible to do. I like watching jazza have a challenge (and maybe go a bit insane) but be able to succeed in making something amazing in the end.
If you love sculpting and want to see a seraphim you should check out Adam from north of the border he likes to make tiny nerdy things and he made one for Christmas
Please sculpt the cherub!! I love how it would be super detailed from each angle (because of the four heads). You'd also get the different textures from the skin, short fur, mane, and feathers along with different features like the snout, beak, and human face (nose, mouth, ears, etc). I doubt you'd include the wings since you'd really have to up the scale of the design, but it'd be incredible if you did!
The depiction of the cherubim was amazing, I've seen many different depictions of cherubim as described in the Bible, but yours is the most breathtakingly angelic I've seen. Otherworldly, beyond human, majestic, truly divine.
I love how you drew the cherub's face, it was so gentle, ethereal, it truly looked like what an angel might look like. Also, as a Christian, I appreciate your honest desire to just draw and sculpt these incredible creatures. As for which one you could sculpt, I'd love to see the cherub with it's four faces. Or portraying the red dragon. If I may say it, I'd love to see how you might paint it too, if that's not too much.
If that's the one in revelation, it's described as actually being fire-like in color (orange), not just red. I think this is also similar to how Judas was considered to be a ginger for a long time. But so was Daniel was described a similar way in the Septuagint, and same for maybe Solomon. Take that as what you will.
@@johnsherfey3675 Technically the leviathan is also a dragon. The Hebrew word for dragon (tannin) is used quite a lot in the Bible actually. But so far as I know, only the KJV translates the word thus.

Hey Jazza, I will start off by saying that I am a Christian but from your unbelieving standpoint, you do an amazing job at not making fun of or bashing the beliefs that you are using for inspiration in your artwork. It doesn’t seem like you make it into a joke at all. It’s very refreshing. And even in my spiritual journey, it is helping me to visualize the monsters described in the scripture. It helps me to connect better with what I’m trying to read and to understand better what exactly the biblical characters are experiencing when they see these things. Even if you are not Christian, you can still have big impact on the spiritual lives of believers.
Please do the cherub!! You are one of the few artists around willing to depict them accurately! Either a large painting or a sculpture would be totally incredible! ❤

As a Christian i value these sculpts, as they help to really have an image of these beasts, instead of just vague descriptions. In part 3 i would LOVE to see you attempt to make the 4 headed Cherubs. I also think that will be very hard, i want to see you struggle, as you are making this look way too easy!
I think your decision to add the smoke coming from the nostrils was a very good idea, it looked awesome in the end and I loved it. As for what I would like to see you sculpt of the others, the leopard with 4 heads was the one that called to me the most.
Fun Fact, that creature actually represents the Grecian Empire under Alexander the Great, the wings symbolizing how fast it grew, and the 4 heads representing how it was split into 4 pieces after his death. And the Book of Daniel was written over 150 yrs before Alexander was even born
Man you absolutely crushed it, through the whole 2 videos you’ve been nothing short of respectful. I’ve always wondered how to predict the creatures and beast’s within the Bible.
As a believing Christian (Southern Baptist in denomination), what I appreciate about this is that even though these are being made by someone who doesn't follow Christianity, it is still done in a way that doesn't mock or belittle our beliefs, and is done with respect and admiration for the depictions of these beings in the bible. Pretty incredible art.

Making the cherubim would be awesome! As a reborn Christian it is incredible watching you bring the creatures of the Bible to life. I’ve always tried to picture the descriptions in my mind and fail. Beautifully done! It’s also be cool to see some of the creatures in revelations be brought to life in your art!
I am a Christian, and I love that you are going straight from the Bible to draw/sculpt how these creatures might have looked (look?). I would really like to see you do a realistic Cherub. So many people think they look like cute little babies (Dang Renaissance painters!), and they are so freaking terrifying!
Most of them would probably look downright terrifying to us even the normal looking ones, even the most basic angel is still well built, massive in size, wearing robes and probably radiating gods glory and power. But even with the most terrifying looking ones I still there's a ethereal beauty to them.
@@phoenixx913 Given Hebrews 13:2 "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." and how a decent portion of the time they are mentioned as "men" means that at least some of them, probably most of those seen by humans, look visually similar enough to a human to be mistaken for one. That being said, the ones who say "Do not be afraid." very likely look rather terrifying.
;) Wicked is right, lawls.. The Ten Horns beast is the devil himself ('and his name is blasphemy'), etc. Biblically accurate (or at least imagined as such) is a real treat though.
Your design of the 4th beast is very original and cool. Most artists make it look like a horned tyrannosaur, but you actually gave it a more mythical appearence on top of giving it a lot of character.
I also found some depictions of Bible beasts made that way. My sister even received an illustrated bible, which was filled with "more accurate" depictions of monsters (and locations too), such as You said, dinosaur-like beasts. I wonder if the illustrators or writers (both catholics, obviously) wanted to make their version of bible "historical" by adding such specific depictions? But I think it is wrong and insuccesfull. Most of Bible, especially Old part is mythical, so making historical and evolution-accurate images for a creationistic book is almost propaganda. None christian book should lie about Bible's wrong statements about the world, as that's just how the ancients viewed the earth. Making Bible "scientifical" is not going to fix anything, or bring "lost sheep" back to Church.
@@Ziel-22k I think that, the moment you try to combine scientific theories with alegorical/mythological stories, you unintentionally raise the bar so high, at some point you have to "dissect" certain elements, such as God and/or his angels. Treating these stories as just myths the ancients made up as a way to explain the world doesn't decrease their value, if anything, it allows them to stay relevant and to capture the imagination, like how the ancient Greek, Egyptian and Nordic myths did.
@@favourpeter9386 all religious and folkloric stories are mythological. They're inherently not literally true to the word, but are allegorical instead.
@@AedanTheGreyThis particular vision of Daniel's did represent the empires that ruled over Israel however the Bible can be put into 4 categories - Books of law, historical, poetic and prophetic. By that alone it cant be seriously classified as mythology and you won't ever find it in a bookstore or Library under that section, unless a prankster moved a Bible purposefully to the mythical section. Theology or Religion usually is where it is found.

Your not saying anything negative about Christianity, and your not making the creatures somehow look disrespectful to Christianity. So this is totally fine. The Bible doesn't come with pictures, so I think these videos are helpful by putting a image to the description, because no matter how much you read about the creatures, your imagination can only take you so far. The sculpture looks absolutely incredible. But it's more reminiscent of a wise old sage, one of the dragons from the first Spyro game. The beast described in Daniel should be boastful and insolent and full of malice.

Jazza, I've been watching you on and off for years as a developing artist. I'm genuinely impressed at seeing how far you've come in both drawing and sculpting from your first sculpture on the channel. With my interest in demonology, angelology, and SCP, ive been brought back to your channel and its a genuine joy to watch you again several years later at almost 18. I think, had I not seen your videos when I was younger, I'd never have gotten as far as I have now in my own artistic journey. Thank you for being an inspiration to myself and artists everywhere.
As a born again fundamental evangelical baptist atheist (yes, raised religious and now atheist) I am always fascinated by depictions of things that I picked up on, but were dismissed when I really wanted to discuss them (I went to their school 3 - 9 as well). I used descriptions like these to try to persuade my mom that D&D wasn’t bad. Dad was an artist, so he could see merits in my arguments. These are absolutely epic. Honestly, as cool as the sculpture is, the drawings got me far more vested. Maybe because drawing I can do, sculpting has eluded me to a degree. As an atheist, while still at our church, I decided to read the bible cover to cover and ignore the dogma. Not in a criticizing aspect, but it can get really bonkers in places. (When reading, I will confess I skimmed a lot of who begat whom). Really enjoy your videos and your artwork.

While I enjoy the strange Angels as much as the next person, there's plenty of times Angels show up in the Bible that are much more, well, mundane looking? So, strictly speaking, Biblically accurate angels should range from the eldritch to... just looking like some dude.

TLDR: ONE GIANT FROG! (second plague in Exodus) It should be noted that the Hebrew suffix -im is plural, so you sketched a seraph, not a seraphim. It would be fun if you sculpted something that people often mistake for being plural: the frog from the second plague in Egypt. The Bible itself is brief in its description, but the Talmud expands upon it the tiniest bit, leaving you lots of room to play with the design: "It is stated with regard to the plagues of Egypt: 'And the frog came up and covered the land of Egypt' (Exodus 8:2). Noting that the term 'the frog' is written in the singular, Rabbi Elazar says: At first it was one frog; it spawned and filled the entire land of Egypt with frogs." Source: Sanhedrin 67b:20

What you are referencing, Exodus 8:2, says "But if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your country with frogs." Or more literally, "But if refuse you to let [them] go, behold I will smite all your territory with frogs". The Hebrew "with frogs" is בַּֽצְפַרְדְּעִֽים׃ (baṣ·p̄ar·də·‘îm) which has the "im" suffix you refer to. I got this just from reading an interlinear Bible with the literal Hebrew translation.
When I was a teen I prayed to someone I shouldn't have for things I didn't need and shortly after while sitting on the couch getting ready to go to sleep for school I saw a head come up out of the floor almost rotating from the ground to right in front of me. It had an odd shaped head almost like stewie from family guy, green skin, small horns all over the top of it's head, yellowish/white eyes, a large mouth and sorta scaley. For some reason I did not feel fear. It just surprised me and it just vanished in thin air. Ever since then I regret what I did.
I'm so sorry to say I know you don't mean any harm of what you doing but just a reminder this is what the Bible said not me Exodus 20:4, which reads: "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth

When I was about 10 on Easter my mom got me something called the Action Bible, it’s basically a comic Bible. I still have it and helped me learn a lot about the Bible and it was much more entertaining to read at a young age. But some of these things you are drawing are not to far off from what it in The Action Bible!
Totally agree with you. We just gave our grandson an Action Bible for his 10th birthday and he LOVES it. I was quite tempted to keep it for myself and I'm 62 Lol ;-)
This series is one of my favorites for sure! I'm an Omnist but was also raised Mormon. I've doodled some Biblical creatures myself, but it is so neat to see just your depictions and sketches. The sculptures are so amazing to watch and THANK YOU for explaining your Monster Clay process. There aren't enough videos on it, imo! Thank you for growing such a beautiful community over the years, and providing new opportunities for budding artists like myself. You are SUCH an incredible person and it has always shown! P.S. As a bible student, I am really impressed with how you literally drew the pictures. The Cherubim was drawn exactly as artists have depicted (that I've come across) in my childhood, so I loved how you made the picture come to life.

Great job as usual! As a Christian, I also enjoy seeing a peaceful community that enjoys artwork (and you have to admit, despite your beliefs, the art from the Bible is pretty darn cool!). If I had to nominate a creature to sculpt, it's gonna have to be the four-headed cherubim! I've always thought that was such a bizarre design, and it would look really cool if you could pull it off!

I was raised Christian and also love the use of religious lore (Christian and others) in stories like comics and anime. So started writing my own comic centred around biblical stories. So this series not only inspires myself to work harder but also shows me that there are like-minded people with an interest and tolerance for seeing someone else’s interpretation of these religious texts
I would love to see your rendition of the Cherub, though i think the 7 headed dragon would maybe be the hardest. great sculpts. are your going to paint them them too? i mean if you want a real challenge though sculpt them all! 😄🤪❤
Whatever religion you believe in, whether it be Christianity, Islam, Hinduism or even if you're an atheist or an agnostic like me, no matter what you believe in, it's always epic to see these fantastical creatures brought to life. And I can't wait to see what else you may create, Jazza. Maybe look into other mythologies or religions too? There are lots of creative stuff to pick from after all. ^^
Watching you carve the clay is so mesmerizing. Makes me want to sculpt. Some of the stuff in the Bible is WILD and so hard to picture. I would love for this to become a trend, that skilled artists like Jazza would create their interpretations of the text as it is written. Especially with the respectful tone, this is so engaging and neat! Since there are parts of the Bible that have been accepted as historically accurate, it's within the scope of possibility that some of the stuff described includes creatures and species that are now extinct. Such a crazy thing to imagine.
Speaking on that topic have you heard of the elasmotherium? It’s an extinct species of gigantic woolly rhino with range from China to the Middle East. The theory is that this was the “unicorn” described in parts of the Old Testament. I love this stuff!

Pretty cool stuff! The dreams Daniel had were spiritual in nature, and the "beasts" were representative of other entities, not actual physical beings... Still, pretty cool artwork and sculptures, I must say!
Oh GOTTA do the 7 Headed Dragon, since i was a kid its the only part of Bible ive actually thought was so cool. The book of Revelations has some very awesome things.
The war stories are often pretty cool when you take a moment to think about them. The night is dark. You and your friends have been having horrible dreams about the battle to come, so sleep is coming poorly. Then, the hills burst into the light of hundreds, maybe thousands, of torches. There are trumpet blasts echoing over the hills, and a fierce clamor behind it. Panic breaks out in camp. No one knows what's going on, but it's obvious you're under attack. Half naked soldiers are coming out of their tents swinging wildly. Those who aren't fleeing in terror are attacking your own in confusion and panic. This is how Gideon and 300 Israelites overcame an army of 10000.
I vote for the Cherubim! Your drawn design of it is so cool, I think it would be really rewarding if you're able to sculpt it. I've also seen some comments requesting a painted scene of some of the monsters, which I also really like the idea of. I think a painting of Daniel's four prophetic creatures all together would look epic, if you decide to do something like that!

As a minister by profession and an artist by hobby, I find these depictions refreshingly faithful to the text, and also to the spirit of the text. Much of the Bible is deliberately terrifying, and you have captured that well. Thank you! If you make another sculpture, I would love to see the cherub. I've never seen a cherub captured in a way that was both faithful to the text and visually coherent.

I am a Bible student, and a Christian, and I think your depictions are fantastic! The 4th beast was really something, I also envisioned a lizard like type, almost like a dinosaur, but what you made is so much cooler than what I envisioned. I also really love how you drew the cherub angels, it isn’t always easy to envision the four faces, but you did good, I think they are beautiful creations

@@edgecruz4832 Thats a tall order lol. I reread it to refresh my memory. Essentially, from what I understood and from looking at the studies of other's who have researched it, i think we can rightly conclude that the first three beasts would have been the major ruling powers from Daniels time onward. Babylon being the first, followed by the Medo-Persian empire, the leopard being the Grecian empire, the four wings and the animal indicating the speed at which Alexander the great conquered and the four heads being his 4 Generals who took leadership after his death. Followed naturally by the roman empire being the unusually fierce beast.
However the 10 horns symbolize 10 kings coming from that empire. I am curious to think that it isn't specifically 10 actual world powers, but as the number 10 in a biblical sense often refers to an earthly complete number, the 10 horns symbolize all the following world powers that grew off from the roman world power.
As for the horn that grows in place of 3 horns, and speaks blasphemous words, this perhaps seems like a final world power that will ultimately fight against God and those who follow him as Christians. I often think this horn is represented as the Wild beast in Revelation, for it also wages war against the "holy ones' or saints for 3 and a half times.
It could very well be that this Horn that grows from this beast could be a new world power or one world government, perhaps under the UN's control? they try to establish Peace and Security as is said in 1 Thess. 5:3 this of course leading to the battle of Armegeddon?
Really though I think the final part of the vision is yet to happen

@@edgecruz4832 The interpretation I heard was that the beasts represents the 'kingdoms' that will exist when christ returns. Which is which is up for debate.
Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome are all represented in those beasts. Viewing nations as beasts with chimeric features based on their behavior.

Nebuchadnezzar's dream about the descent of empire was based on material things, an idol stratified according to the quality of each layer of dead metal and stone. He saw it based on the deteorioration of value in each subsequent system of governance. Until the stone cut without hands - an unpolluted living stone as God told Abraham that a stone cut by man's hands is polluted, that is, slain - smashes into the statue's mixed and weakened feet. This stone shatters the entire empire of man into dust and grows into a mountain. Hence the reason why he erected an idol of solid gold, because it was a statement that said, "My kingdom will be eternal."
Daniel's dream allows us to see the difference between the Chaldean king and the Judaen prince, in the very essence of their subconscious minds, the depths of their souls when you consider 'nephesh' is both soul and mind.
While Nebuchadnezzar had dreamt of an idol, Daniel's dream has parallels in that it is the same progression of time, however rather than an idol of dead stone he is presented with a procession of living creatures that arise from the great sea. Revelation provides the interpretation for what waters symbolize: Multitudes of peoples, nations, and tongues. So these beasts are coalescing from large populations and their nuances are similar to the layers of the statue.
Babylon, majestic and powerful, the wings symbolize the swiftness of its conquest. Once its wings are plucked, the end of its rapid expansion, it is set up on its feet like a man and given the heart of a man as it rules.
Medo-Persia, large yet voracious, with the Persian 'shoulder' rising higher than the Medes. It devoured the flesh of many nations.
The Macedonian Greek leopard, an ambush predator with the celerity of four wings, with its four heads symbolizing the generals which would have their dynasties. The later vision of the he goat and the ram is symbolic for Alexander's conquest of Persia, his generals' rise to power, and Rome establishing its dominion.
Rome is the final beast so different from the rest, having iron teeth and brass nails, it conquered and devoured, stamping on what residue remained. This is parallel to the legs of iron, and in Revelation, the beast that rises from the waters.
To understand what Revelation is talking about requires Daniel, because it provides a key to the symbolism. What was sealed at the end of Daniel is unsealed in Revelation.

You should start 3D scanning each sculpture you make not only for your own records but so fans could print their own little versions, which could lead to paint contests customisation to take for example a bust and complete creature and could lead to a whole new vertical of content for the channel, just an idea.

@bethdibella550 I appreciate your sensitivity, but God commanded the engraving of images of supernatural beings for the tabernacle and temple in the old testament. Images themselves are not idolatry, only the worship of them.
Selfishly I wanna see the 7 Headed Dragon because it's badass.
The accurate angels? I think really the most difficult part of that would just be the posing, getting the interlocking/woven rings to stay put whilst you sculpted.
The Cherub however... That's gotta be the hardest of the lot for sure! Not just the base pose but the second pair of wings wrapping over but not fully around the lower torso & hands, the hooved feet, the four very different faces! The open wings need to be quite large & imposing to hold a creature like this upright whilst floating too.
For you Jazza a bit of a nightmare, for us? It'll unbelievably impressive when finished!

As a Theology major & an art lover, hearing about Daniel’s four prophetic beasts in a Jazz video makes me very happy.
I wont lie, as a Christian its pretty awesome to see an artists depiction of these. It honestly helps me have a better picture in my mind when Im doing my devotions and come across any of these.

@tinkerbell2675 listening and believing words are one thing, having a visual representation to think about when your doing your devotions is another thing entirely.
I'm not saying he is preaching the good news or that Christians need to flock to him as theor source of visual aids.
Just that his visual aids helped me as a very unartistic person visual some of the beings I found harder to picture on my own.
I understand the parables, however to see them crafted out just gives me (and assumably others) a mental picture for later when reading those parables. The artists take on the visuals does not take away from the importance of the parables they are from.
We can indeed have both as they do not oppose each other.

It is a piece of media meant to entertain people while at the same time giving Christians a better look at what the Bible says to more easily understand it. That said, for the Cherubs, Jazza should also read Ezekial 10, which gives more details to their appearance (verse 12 specifically confirms a ton of eyes), but props for been so accurate anyways
He should also look into the beasts in Revelations (the 7-eyed Lamb, the Lady in the Moon, the Dragon, the two Blasphemous beasts (ESPECIALLY))

It did bother me that he missed the detail with the eyes but he did a great job and I loved his design of the cherub. I would love to see him perfect his drawing and maybe even sculpt it (I know that’s a large task but I saw his video with a wood carving and I think a biblically accurate cherub wood carving could be gorgeous)
I think the Cherubim would be the most interesting creature to create. The different faces and wings would be complex but engaging, and I’m interested to see how the burnished skin would be achieved. How easy would it be to achieve the ethereal?
The Fourth Beast is epic! I love the skin texture and the smoky nostrils look awesome - he looks so imperious and aloof!
I reckon Jazza needs to pick up a copy of The Golden Legend - basically all the biblical/Catholic legends that grew after the biblical stories became established. It’s a fascinating read

Please sculpt the cherub!! I love how it would be super detailed from each angle (because of the four heads). You'd also get the different textures from the skin, short fur, mane, and feathers along with different features like the snout, beak, and human face (nose, mouth, ears, etc). I doubt you'd include the wings since you'd really have to up the scale of the design, but it'd be incredible if you did!
The depiction of the cherubim was amazing, I've seen many different depictions of cherubim as described in the Bible, but yours is the most breathtakingly angelic I've seen. Otherworldly, beyond human, majestic, truly divine.

As for which one you could sculpt, I'd love to see the cherub with it's four faces. Or portraying the red dragon. If I may say it, I'd love to see how you might paint it too, if that's not too much.
If that's the one in revelation, it's described as actually being fire-like in color (orange), not just red.
I think this is also similar to how Judas was considered to be a ginger for a long time.
But so was Daniel was described a similar way in the Septuagint, and same for maybe Solomon.

@@johnsherfey3675 Technically the leviathan is also a dragon. The Hebrew word for dragon (tannin) is used quite a lot in the Bible actually. But so far as I know, only the KJV translates the word thus.

Hey Jazza, I will start off by saying that I am a Christian but from your unbelieving standpoint, you do an amazing job at not making fun of or bashing the beliefs that you are using for inspiration in your artwork. It doesn’t seem like you make it into a joke at all. It’s very refreshing. And even in my spiritual journey, it is helping me to visualize the monsters described in the scripture. It helps me to connect better with what I’m trying to read and to understand better what exactly the biblical characters are experiencing when they see these things. Even if you are not Christian, you can still have big impact on the spiritual lives of believers.

I think your decision to add the smoke coming from the nostrils was a very good idea, it looked awesome in the end and I loved it. As for what I would like to see you sculpt of the others, the leopard with 4 heads was the one that called to me the most.

Fun Fact, that creature actually represents the Grecian Empire under Alexander the Great, the wings symbolizing how fast it grew, and the 4 heads representing how it was split into 4 pieces after his death. And the Book of Daniel was written over 150 yrs before Alexander was even born

As a believing Christian (Southern Baptist in denomination), what I appreciate about this is that even though these are being made by someone who doesn't follow Christianity, it is still done in a way that doesn't mock or belittle our beliefs, and is done with respect and admiration for the depictions of these beings in the bible. Pretty incredible art.

I am a Christian, and I love that you are going straight from the Bible to draw/sculpt how these creatures might have looked (look?). I would really like to see you do a realistic Cherub. So many people think they look like cute little babies (Dang Renaissance painters!), and they are so freaking terrifying!
Most of them would probably look downright terrifying to us even the normal looking ones, even the most basic angel is still well built, massive in size, wearing robes and probably radiating gods glory and power.
But even with the most terrifying looking ones I still there's a ethereal beauty to them.
@@phoenixx913 Given Hebrews 13:2 "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." and how a decent portion of the time they are mentioned as "men" means that at least some of them, probably most of those seen by humans, look visually similar enough to a human to be mistaken for one. That being said, the ones who say "Do not be afraid." very likely look rather terrifying.

;) Wicked is right, lawls.. The Ten Horns beast is the devil himself ('and his name is blasphemy'), etc. Biblically accurate (or at least imagined as such) is a real treat though.
Your design of the 4th beast is very original and cool. Most artists make it look like a horned tyrannosaur, but you actually gave it a more mythical appearence on top of giving it a lot of character.
I also found some depictions of Bible beasts made that way. My sister even received an illustrated bible, which was filled with "more accurate" depictions of monsters (and locations too), such as You said, dinosaur-like beasts. I wonder if the illustrators or writers (both catholics, obviously) wanted to make their version of bible "historical" by adding such specific depictions? But I think it is wrong and insuccesfull. Most of Bible, especially Old part is mythical, so making historical and evolution-accurate images for a creationistic book is almost propaganda. None christian book should lie about Bible's wrong statements about the world, as that's just how the ancients viewed the earth. Making Bible "scientifical" is not going to fix anything, or bring "lost sheep" back to Church.
@@Ziel-22k I think that, the moment you try to combine scientific theories with alegorical/mythological stories, you unintentionally raise the bar so high, at some point you have to "dissect" certain elements, such as God and/or his angels. Treating these stories as just myths the ancients made up as a way to explain the world doesn't decrease their value, if anything, it allows them to stay relevant and to capture the imagination, like how the ancient Greek, Egyptian and Nordic myths did.

@@AedanTheGreyThis particular vision of Daniel's did represent the empires that ruled over Israel however the Bible can be put into 4 categories - Books of law, historical, poetic and prophetic. By that alone it cant be seriously classified as mythology and you won't ever find it in a bookstore or Library under that section, unless a prankster moved a Bible purposefully to the mythical section. Theology or Religion usually is where it is found.

Your not saying anything negative about Christianity, and your not making the creatures somehow look disrespectful to Christianity. So this is totally fine. The Bible doesn't come with pictures, so I think these videos are helpful by putting a image to the description, because no matter how much you read about the creatures, your imagination can only take you so far. The sculpture looks absolutely incredible. But it's more reminiscent of a wise old sage, one of the dragons from the first Spyro game. The beast described in Daniel should be boastful and insolent and full of malice.

The Ophanim with the eyed wheels would be the coolest to see depicted in an actual physical medium.

I'm genuinely impressed at seeing how far you've come in both drawing and sculpting from your first sculpture on the channel. With my interest in demonology, angelology, and SCP, ive been brought back to your channel and its a genuine joy to watch you again several years later at almost 18.
I think, had I not seen your videos when I was younger, I'd never have gotten as far as I have now in my own artistic journey.

As a born again fundamental evangelical baptist atheist (yes, raised religious and now atheist) I am always fascinated by depictions of things that I picked up on, but were dismissed when I really wanted to discuss them (I went to their school 3 - 9 as well).
I used descriptions like these to try to persuade my mom that D&D wasn’t bad. Dad was an artist, so he could see merits in my arguments.
These are absolutely epic. Honestly, as cool as the sculpture is, the drawings got me far more vested. Maybe because drawing I can do, sculpting has eluded me to a degree.
As an atheist, while still at our church, I decided to read the bible cover to cover and ignore the dogma. Not in a criticizing aspect, but it can get really bonkers in places. (When reading, I will confess I skimmed a lot of who begat whom).

While I enjoy the strange Angels as much as the next person, there's plenty of times Angels show up in the Bible that are much more, well, mundane looking? So, strictly speaking, Biblically accurate angels should range from the eldritch to... just looking like some dude.

TLDR: ONE GIANT FROG! (second plague in Exodus)
It should be noted that the Hebrew suffix -im is plural, so you sketched a seraph, not a seraphim. It would be fun if you sculpted something that people often mistake for being plural: the frog from the second plague in Egypt. The Bible itself is brief in its description, but the Talmud expands upon it the tiniest bit, leaving you lots of room to play with the design:
"It is stated with regard to the plagues of Egypt: 'And the frog came up and covered the land of Egypt' (Exodus 8:2). Noting that the term 'the frog' is written in the singular, Rabbi Elazar says: At first it was one frog; it spawned and filled the entire land of Egypt with frogs."

What you are referencing, Exodus 8:2, says "But if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your country with frogs." Or more literally, "But if refuse you to let [them] go, behold I will smite all your territory with frogs". The Hebrew "with frogs" is בַּֽצְפַרְדְּעִֽים׃ (baṣ·p̄ar·də·‘îm) which has the "im" suffix you refer to. I got this just from reading an interlinear Bible with the literal Hebrew translation.

When I was a teen I prayed to someone I shouldn't have for things I didn't need and shortly after while sitting on the couch getting ready to go to sleep for school I saw a head come up out of the floor almost rotating from the ground to right in front of me. It had an odd shaped head almost like stewie from family guy, green skin, small horns all over the top of it's head, yellowish/white eyes, a large mouth and sorta scaley. For some reason I did not feel fear. It just surprised me and it just vanished in thin air. Ever since then I regret what I did.

When I was about 10 on Easter my mom got me something called the Action Bible, it’s basically a comic Bible. I still have it and helped me learn a lot about the Bible and it was much more entertaining to read at a young age. But some of these things you are drawing are not to far off from what it in The Action Bible!
Totally agree with you. We just gave our grandson an Action Bible for his 10th birthday and he LOVES it. I was quite tempted to keep it for myself and I'm 62 Lol ;-)

This series is one of my favorites for sure! I'm an Omnist but was also raised Mormon. I've doodled some Biblical creatures myself, but it is so neat to see just your depictions and sketches. The sculptures are so amazing to watch and THANK YOU for explaining your Monster Clay process. There aren't enough videos on it, imo!

As a bible student, I am really impressed with how you literally drew the pictures. The Cherubim was drawn exactly as artists have depicted (that I've come across) in my childhood, so I loved how you made the picture come to life.

Great job as usual! As a Christian, I also enjoy seeing a peaceful community that enjoys artwork (and you have to admit, despite your beliefs, the art from the Bible is pretty darn cool!). If I had to nominate a creature to sculpt, it's gonna have to be the four-headed cherubim! I've always thought that was such a bizarre design, and it would look really cool if you could pull it off!

I was raised Christian and also love the use of religious lore (Christian and others) in stories like comics and anime. So started writing my own comic centred around biblical stories. So this series not only inspires myself to work harder but also shows me that there are like-minded people with an interest and tolerance for seeing someone else’s interpretation of these religious texts

Whatever religion you believe in, whether it be Christianity, Islam, Hinduism or even if you're an atheist or an agnostic like me, no matter what you believe in, it's always epic to see these fantastical creatures brought to life. Some of the stuff in the Bible is WILD and so hard to picture. I would love for this to become a trend, that skilled artists like Jazza would create their interpretations of the text as it is written. Especially with the respectful tone, this is so engaging and neat!
Since there are parts of the Bible that have been accepted as historically accurate, it's within the scope of possibility that some of the stuff described includes creatures and species that are now extinct. Such a crazy thing to imagine.
Speaking on that topic have you heard of the elasmotherium? It’s an extinct species of gigantic woolly rhino with range from China to the Middle East. The theory is that this was the “unicorn” described in parts of the Old Testament. I love this stuff!
The seven headed dragon would be the most epic and difficult to build. its the hardest of them but that's what makes it the most fun.

Pretty cool stuff! The dreams Daniel had were spiritual in nature, and the "beasts" were representative of other entities, not actual physical beings... Still, pretty cool artwork and sculptures, I must say!

The war stories are often pretty cool when you take a moment to think about them.
The night is dark. You and your friends have been having horrible dreams about the battle to come, so sleep is coming poorly. Then, the hills burst into the light of hundreds, maybe thousands, of torches. There are trumpet blasts echoing over the hills, and a fierce clamor behind it.
Panic breaks out in camp. No one knows what's going on, but it's obvious you're under attack. Half naked soldiers are coming out of their tents swinging wildly. Those who aren't fleeing in terror are attacking your own in confusion and panic.
This is how Gideon and 300 Israelites overcame an army of 10000.
