    I was sold a 100 amp breaker for the same inverter and it tripped on a 800 watt load. Checking the manual I found it has an internal 200 amp fuse and Victron states it does not need a separate fuse if it’s close enough to its power source. I’ll still run a breaker and hopefully can find a 225 amp breaker or fuse but 200 would be fine also. I took all the fuses off the back of the same brand switch panel also! Still planning out my system to upgrade from a Renogy dual input charger. I have most of the components and am down to planning the layout and cable wire size and routing. The Renogy system is working so I’ll take my time and plan it into my cabinets. Just insulated and laid the subfloor so now I can start building. Hard to do when you live and work out of the van!

    I have one easy mod which I feel makes every system that little safer!! Secure a piece of STS Construction Board 100% fire proof to your backing and then mount the units onto this. A little ott but you know should a fault develope in any units or fuse connectors etc you will have a better chance with a fire proff backing mounting board. Pennys to the total cost.

    Thanks, Adam, really appreciated your great work on the van! Runs smoothly. Love the fact that the fridge has been running all night, and the battery was at 97% at sunrise. Plenty of power!

    Thanks, very useful to see a system configured with so much of the excellent Victron components namely solar mppt, B2B and inverter, yet - interestingly without the significant further expense of Victrons' Lynx unit as a distribution feature. This is the aspect which interest me the most, specifically the Mega-Midi +ve distribution post/busbar which in your video has the cover removed and looks to be located within 6inches of the unshrouded -ve battery terminal. In contrast to that +ve distribution you emphasise on the -ve collection busbar it has 350A current capacity and robust enclosure, this detail being appropriate to the potential current draw of the meaty inverter, but much out of balance with the modest 35mm^2 battery cables.

      Hi John, thanks for the comment, the system was done to the best of my ability with the clients budget in mind, of course the lynx would be the preferred option but with a RRP of over £200.00 many people opt for the midi/mega fuse distribution, although close to the -ve battery terminal the positive cables are secured and would not touch the -ve also if you check victrons own manual you use 25mm²/35mm² cable with this inverter depending on the length of the cable run.

    That setup is a thing of beauty. Is there a complete schematic available?

    Fantastic video and excellent work. I'm interested in putting a similar system into my vw t6. Do you by any chance have a schematic for this system? Cheers buddy 👍🏻

    Shunt doesn't have a relay to stop charging like the one with the screen does

    I'm doing a 5-container (30' living space) lorry conversion Adam. Can you please tell me what fireproof electrical backing board was used?? I'm based close to southam Warwickshire.

    Its not clear to me as to why the owner would have a 240v fridge as opposed to a 12v fridge. Isn't less efficient to run through an invertor?

    • @Aboutavan
      @Aboutavan  2 роки тому

      The cost of a 90L 12v fridge is around £800/900 if you're having a quality electrical system installed with a lithium battery which stores circa 3.78kwh of energy running a domestic fridge via the inverter will account for very little. I've done the same in my own van and between February to November it works perfectly just off solar alone.

    Would love to know how this is connected to vehicle battery in the cab. As it's underfloor did you run it under body of van?

    • @Aboutavan
      @Aboutavan  2 роки тому

      Hey Dylan, you can run it under the vehicle if you wish, or you can route it through the interior of the vehicle, if it goes underneath just ensure its fully protected and secure/away from moving parts.
