Maye should still sit. He gave us a reason to be optimistic last night. You can't throw him out there with this oline.
You guys just said your plan is to put Maye behind this line with no weapons and then determine at the start of next season if he's a bust... That's insane.
Weren't the media the ones saying we shouldn't rush him onto the field right after the draft? Now THEY are the ones, not the fans, who are impatient and wanting NE to start him.🤯

A glimpse of optimism and a bunch of media is ready to toss Drake out to the wolves. Even the Eagles 2ed string Defense is a good D, BUT this is PRE-SEASON. He had zero complex blitz schemes thrown at him. It was all basic and the O-line barely gave him time. Give him a lot of pre-season play and sit him until at least half-way through this season. I'd like to see him step in as QB1 for the last third of the season, that should give the O-line enough time to figure out playing with each other. What is the rush for? Let him at least see the different defensive schemes and blitz packages that get thrown at JB. Let them dissect it and run through it in their new VR system that everyone talking about. Why are media pushing to rush Drake Maye onto the field with this leaky sieve of an O-line? Like if he doesn't start now, they're not gonna have enough time to bring him along in order to get to the SB next year. He's 21, the Pats kinda suck. He's not getting them to the playoffs this year. Patience...it's a virtue. He's young and they have him locked up for at least 4yrs on the cheap. Chill......
Not true even before JJ McCarthy injury he was QB2 and they also had Mullens tie at QB2 with him and they were planning to start Sam Darnold anyway. There were reports McCarthy is not ready, it just didnt get blown up into a narrative like it does here. The problem is the Vikings media and fans hyped him up. Instead of saying hes struggling. But that was not the reality he was throwing interceptions, people kept saying he's lighting it up when he really wasn't. Like yea JJ looked good, dont get me wrong, i like the kid, but Drake Maye looks good too and Atleast Drake Maye didn't throw an interception.
All the things that he's capable of are things that are done with a O-line with the talent that is required.
They have everything Maye has done since he landed in Foxboro and they are still saying he is not ready. The team gave the Raines to Gerod and AVP to make the decisions so he is what they feel he is. Sit him
