Flores was an idiot. First, you coach the team you get. Sure coaches have say but those coaches have a long track record of winning. I am sure Andy Reid or Belicheck draft the players they wanted. Flores has done nothing so he gets who the GM drafts. Tua was also not the only one that Flores had a problem with. Many players have come out and said Flores was hard to work with. Look at Minkah Fitzpatrick. He was a pro-bowl safety still in his rookie contract and we traded him away. Because he and Flores clashed. Say what you want about Tua, with McDaniel as coach Tua is the best QB since Marino. Is he perfect? No. But compared to the 20 other QBs we have seen come and go he is the best.
With all due respect… Mike does not help him with his deficiencies, therefore he is not a good coach. He makes Tua “feel” better, but his issues still remain. He can’t throw on the run, he has “happy feet” in the pocket and he can’t play in cold weather. You need a tough hard nosed coach to lead a team into tough conditions and McDaniel is not that.
For Tua I hope he wins a ring in MIA with MCDaniel and shows the world how little Flores knows about offense. Not the first time we heard this. From domestic abuse to constantly blaming others, Flores isn’t widely liked. Never met him, have no interest to. Tua has every right to dislike him.
Flores wanted Herbert, the Dolphins front office wanted Tua. Mike McDaniels saved Tua's career. And Tyreke Hill joining the Dolphins made that move justifiable.
My highschool football coach was my Mike McDaniel. He would put me in plays that I thought I had no business being a part of. And I was always shocked at the success that I had. He believed in me more than I believed in myself. It took me from being an average player to a good player.
A coach's job is to motivate players to get the most out of themselves. Not all players will respond the same, but your job as a coach is to know what makes that player tick.

It's all on Brian Flores that old cheater Bill Belicheat called to congratulate him on the NYG job, only for it to be Brian Deboll. ...... Your post isn't bright at all.
??? Tua and McDaniel haven't done anything yet. McDaniels' record is almost identical to Flores' in his last two seasons. Offense has looked better but the roster was significantly improved so it certainly should look better. Flores, by naming names to back up his assertion that the NFL does token interviews, didn't "smear" anyone. With Belichick and NYG he shared his proof and neither Bill nor NYG responded to explain how his proof wasn't valid. Elway denied bc of course, that's what he's supposed to do, but then he elaborated to defend his appearance and why it could've been perceived as "disheveled". Just because the NFL wants to sweep it under the rug doesn't mean it didn't happen.
@karimglasgow5518 I couldn't have explained it any better than you I forgot the elway situation and only focused on the giants because of how egregious it was
Why did Flores treat Tua that way? Tua came from a very tough team at Alabama and was not a cupcake there. Saban wasn’t easy to play for, but he gave positive reinforcement every day.
Wow, indeed. Mac Jones and Tua haven't been setting the world on fire. We'll see how it goes. All I know is when I was their ages I wasn't stupid enough to think I knew better than the people who had actually achieved things.
Worth noting that Flores has a SB ring, unlike McDaniel and Tua, and despite the organization trading away all their best players for the future assets that were used to give all the current offensive talent, Flores had the same record in his last 36 games as McDaniel has had in his 36 games as Dolphins coach.
And yet Flores has completely turned around a Vikings defense, with next to nothing, and all his players love him. Tua has a million weapons, a perfect scheme, and is still a mid tier QB. Hmmmmmmmm. Grow up lil guy, football is tough.
Different people respond to different approaches & Flores either wasn't smart enough to know that or really wanted to hurt Tua's future! Either way not good!
It's extra gross that some Vikings fans are defending this behavior, there's being a hard a** and then there's being an a**hole and Flores definitely crossed the line here into a**hole territory if this is true- some Vikings fans are even throwing Tua childhood abuse in his face as some kind of twisted a defense ("Oh his dad beat him with a belt but he calls Flores a monster?!?!") As a Dolphins fan, I wish he didn’t do this interview. Coach Flo isn’t even in the same conference - it’s like being happily married with kids and venting about the ex that cheated on you in college. Just let it go, Bro! Focus on Jacksonville and nothing but that!
As someone who has been a player, and worked as a coach (though not coached NFL level) on staffs, the idea you get a player on your team who isn't a bad kid behavior wise, that will work hard, that is moldable and willing to listen to coach decisions first, and you effectively stomp that kid out for not being the one you want is (if true) ridiculous. As a former coach my job was never to make you become what I wanted you to be, but for you to be the best you could be as a person as a player. Because when I worked at each level, I didn't get to choose my players. But they did choose to come play for me. And I had to go out of my way to earn that respect they gave me every practice, every game day. By putting them in the best position to succeed as a football player and as a man. That tells me Flores doesn't understand his role as a coach has to be more then put a number to the X and the O's on the whiteboard. Not is, HAS to be.
First two years Tua still won more games than Herbert. Herbert did nothing, still no playoff wins for him too much no one cried when he got $50 million but Tua don’t deserve $53 million? Please

@@no_name-zo1hyi don’t know if it’s intentional to not leave behind a legacy of coaches…. I do agree though that he was choosing his coaches on specific needs
@@no_name-zo1hyif there was any coach who would never in a million years hire someone equipped to take his job, it was Belichick.
Fyi - Nick Saban was Belichick's Defensive Coordinator for the Cleveland Browns (1991-1994). He didn't do well as an HC in the NFL, but many would consider him a GOAT College HC.
They're good friends, but Saban may have misdirected Belichick about his star QB, Mac Jones, who only functions w/ 5-star level guys around him. He needs hugs & ice cream cones from Doug Pedersen. 🙄
Sheer luck of having the 199th pick who threw an average of 25tds to 13ints per season up until 2007? Huhhh😂
F%#* Flores. Happy for Tua having a coach that wants a better version of himself out there. Stay healthy, Tua/Dolphins 🙏

I am a casual NFL fan, and I don’t watch a lot of AFC East football. For several years I kept hearing about what a bum Tua was, and that the dolphins were basically just keeping him until they could cut him. But every time I saw him on the field, he looked pretty good, so I was wondering where this reputation came from. I guess we know…
Miami hasn’t had a losing season since drafting Tua. They had 3 winning seasons in the 16 seasons before drafting Tua and they never had back to back winning seasons.
Not the first time we heard this. From domestic abuse to constantly blaming others, Flores isn’t widely liked. Never met him, have no interest to. Tua has every right to dislike him.
I’ve seen plenty players like dude. He was just a dick to tua
Sounds like you’ve found an opportunity to pile on so you’re doing exactly that.
He’s got plot armor tho! Can you imagine if he was as evil as the kicker on the Chiefs? 😅
@@MrLonglovetheworldWhy is it piling on to be honest?
Domestic abuse? That's the first I'm hearing on that front. I don't see anything relating to Flores and DV online.
Flores wanted Herbert, the Dolphins front office wanted Tua. Mike McDaniels saved Tua's career. And Tyreke Hill joining the Dolphins made that move justifiable.
Every reporter for the miami Dolphins says flores wanted Tua.
Rich is back!
“The Dolphins have a really good team” “Yeah, for the first 12 weeks” 😂 ain’t that the truth
My highschool football coach was my Mike McDaniel. He would put me in plays that I thought I had no business being a part of. And I was always shocked at the success that I had. He believed in me more than I believed in myself. It took me from being an average player to a good player.
Flores generally cries about being a victim . But He has been exposed.

I’ve always believed in tua especially when a lot of my friends and fans said they want to move on from him and that he isn’t the answer. But this was at the time that Flores was the head coach and now knowing tua’s actual prospects I believe Flores made everyone feel like tua was a terrible QB and that was the narrative for years! it was cancerous for the fan base and the locker room and the media. I’m happy tua got paid and found a great scheme with coach mcDaniel.

Flores was a POS. Worst coach in Dolphins history; I say this as a fan of 40 years. Total human garbage; tried to sabotage Tua's career to prove how smart he was.
But the Dolphins had back to back winning seasons for the first time in 20 years… He won with nothing compared to what the Dolphins have done for Tua & McDaniels

Everyone who called the nfl racist for not hiring Brian Flores should publicly apologize to Tua bill belichick the giants John elway Brian Flores smeared people and destroyed reputations even tuas that they are still recovering because of his ego it’s one thing to take a stand for a cause it’s another to ruin innocent lives for a cause which is what Flores did tua is still criticized by the Ryan Clark’s because they are friends with Flores the worst part this hurts coaches that really are being discriminated against cause of their race
Belichick’s most impressive talent as a coach was acquiring as many jerks as possible on his staff.
It’s rare that Rich makes me laugh out loud. Excellent job.

Exactly this. Not sure what's prompting the victory lap when they still haven't even won a playoff game yet.
I’d argue a freezer would have been easier to play in than KC on that miserable January night
And yet Flores has completely turned around a Vikings defense, with next to nothing, and all his players love him. Tua has a million weapons, a perfect scheme, and is still a mid tier QB. Hmmmmmmmm. Grow up lil guy, football is tough.
Wait, so Flores is just an awful coach and his firing had nothing to do with his skin color?

Different people respond to different approaches & Flores either wasn't smart enough to know that or really wanted to hurt Tua's future! Either way not good!
It's extra gross that some Vikings fans are defending this behavior, there's being a hard a** and then there's being an a**hole and Flores definitely crossed the line here into a**hole territory if this is true- some Vikings fans are even throwing Tua childhood abuse in his face as some kind of twisted a defense ("Oh his dad beat him with a belt but he calls Flores a monster?!?!") I liked Flores, but now I understand why he isn't a head coach (hc) now. Granted, there are other circumstances (ownership, trying to lose and suing the league) why Flores isn't a hc.

Tua's soft. Also, coming out years after the fact to throw Flores under the bus is just a punk move.
First two years Tua still won more games than Herbert. Herbert did nothing, still no playoff wins for him too much no one cried when he got $50 million but Tua don’t deserve $53 million? Please
