Flores alleges that he was fired by Ross in retaliation for his refusals to tank (in the process, achieving two consecutive winning seasons) and to tamper

      Flores was an idiot. First, you coach the team you get. Sure coaches have say but those coaches have a long track record of winning. I am sure Andy Reid or Belicheck draft the players they wanted. Flores has done nothing so he gets who the GM drafts. Tua was also not the only one that Flores had a problem with. Many players have come out and said Flores was hard to work with. Look at Minkah Fitzpatrick. He was a pro-bowl safety still in his rookie contract and we traded him away. Because he and Flores clashed.
      Say what you want about Tua, with McDaniel as coach Tua is the best QB since Marino. Is he perfect? No. But compared to the 20 other QBs we have seen come and go he is the best.

    • @Dbo_Sports
      @Dbo_Sports 3 місяці тому

      With all due respect… Mike does not help him with his deficiencies, therefore he is not a good coach. He makes Tua “feel” better, but his issues still remain. He can’t throw on the run, he has “happy feet” in the pocket and he can’t play in cold weather. You need a tough hard nosed coach to lead a team into tough conditions and McDaniel is not that.

  • @Bless863
    @Bless863 3 місяці тому +26

    For Tua I hope he wins a ring in MIA with MCDaniel and shows the world how little Flores knows about offense.
    Imagine earning a golden opportunity, getting upset about which good QB you got, then you shoot yourself in the foot bc you can’t move on from not getting your way, and then you play the race card to try and cover for your poor decisions.
    That’s HC material right there. Some one should hire that guy and make him middle management somewhere, just not in the NFL.
    Honestly the you’re not good enough “tough love” might work on some guys, but as a HC it’s your job to know which guys it would work on and which it’s not.

      I’m just glad my Dolphins get both of their Bills’ games over with in the first half of the season, don’t have to go to Buffalo in December, and likely won’t have to play against Milano in either Regular Season game if Milano is projected to be out until December. Not saying the Dolphins will win or can win either of those Bills’ games just because Milano won’t be playing. But their chances of winning increase slightly with Milano out. Obviously, if MVP Josh Allen takes over, the Dolphins could easily be looking at 0 - 2 against their divisional opponent for the second year in a row, regardless of who is out for the Bills due to injury.

      Tua and McDaniel haven't done anything yet. McDaniels' record is almost identical to Flores' in his last two seasons. Offense has looked better but the roster was significantly improved so it certainly should look better.
      Flores, by naming names to back up his assertion that the NFL does token interviews, didn't "smear" anyone. With Belichick and NYG he shared his proof and neither Bill nor NYG responded to explain how his proof wasn't valid. Elway denied bc of course, that's what he's supposed to do, but then he elaborated to defend his appearance and why it could've been perceived as "disheveled".

As a former coach my job was never to make you become what I wanted you to be, but for you to be the best you could be as a person as a player. Because when I worked at each level, I didn't get to choose my players. But they did choose to come play for me. And I had to go out of my way to earn that respect they gave me every practice, every game day. By putting them in the best position to succeed as a football player and as a man. That tells me Flores doesn't understand his role as a coach has to be more then put a number to the X and the O's on the whiteboard. Not is, HAS to be.

    There's a huge loss in here of all the concussions Tua got and wasn't changing his approach to QB during all of it. Encouragement helps, but playing differently has helped him a lot as well...and a better offensive line. Miami needs a very good backup QB. Tua is still one concussion away from forced retirement and his head permanently scrambled.
