When Merril Hoge said, "Drake Maye is the kind of player that will get you fired." he wasn't saying it for no reason.
They should have drafted malik nabors or harrison jr and paired him with joe milton nasty work😈

Someone should tell Tom that you don't wait for a weaker draft class to get a project. That's how the giants ended up with Daniel Jones and set us back even further than if they had gotten one in a better draft
You're completely right. Curren has been pushing this narrative and it's just stupid. He seems to believe you build a roster and then just find a franchise guy later in the draft. The chances of that are so rare. It's even more rare than hitting on a 1st round QB.

Love Curran but you don’t pass on a qb you chew as the guy just because the roster isn’t great. You take the qb and figure out the roster as time goes on, it’s by far the most important position. I would think a guy who covered Brady for 20 years would realize that
Its not like drake maye was burrow, cam, cj stroud, coming outta college he was a solid qb that got overly hyped he wasn't a heisman caliper guy, didn't win the acc didn't set any record he isnt a physical freak so what makes him a great qb and he struggles in training camp gotta stop calling guys great just because of there hype and draft
Joe Milton's main drawback? His now-undeniable elite talent is a MAJOR EMBARRASSMENT to the Boston media hacks who SWOONED over Drake Maye (and all but ignored Milton throughout the draft process)
Pump the brakes bro! It was fun to see Milton play and look good with the reps he got. But let's be real...most of those defensive players he was going against will be selling insurance by the time the season starts.

Mac Jones wasn't ruined. He is an awful QB. Poor arm, poor instincts, zero leadership abilities, and completely lost the locker room. Curren needs to stop carrying this narrative for Kraft. Kraft says jump and Curren asks how high.

Wholeheartedly agree. They sold out Patricia, then the OL, then BoB, then Bill himself in order to save face on drafting Jones. That's embarrassing.

Belichick definitely didn't help with his coaching choices but at best Mac was average.
Mac is the type of player that can function is everything is perfect but crumbles when it's not.

We're seeing why the best move for the draft was to trade down, get more picks and get a good LT and a #1 receiver. Getting a 21 year-old QB who needs a lot of work and nothing else of top quality was a mistake. Now, Maye has to be taught the game AND wait until the offensive line is stable. Which comes first is anyone's guess.
if bill was here that's exactly what they should had done. and it was the right move. you're not there. Kraft thought he was going to hit the lottery with one pick. and it was the 3rd pick. think about that. at #3 they choose the 3rd best player at that position when they had the best wide receiver. the best tackle or multiple picks this year and next. it's comical. But now I see why Kraft despised bill. Because bill didn't want that fool anywhere near the operation. So, Kraft kept bill from trading Mac Jones and when Mac Jones went bust he blamed bill for it. armed with the media at his backside Kraft was successful at pulling off the biggest mistake of his life.
Give Drake Maye time. He will be great. Joe Milton is the a solid Qb. Very strong

I think the more important statement is the condition of the OL. If 2's are as bad as he says, Pats' fans better pray they don't get a bunch of injuries. The best QB in the league is toast if he's protected by a collection of speed bumps.
The picture maye looks special. They did him wrong. However that's how he looked to me in college. His feet weren't always aligned towards his receiver and those were bad throws. I have never seen that get fixed ever. Mitchell trubiski doesn't point his feet to the receiver. The ball flight is a crapshoot. He's a bust. Calling it now.
To contrast, Justin Fields has baseball footwork. He can aim a football but he looks like a second baseman throwing to first half of the time. I think he can work. Kyler Murray has baseball footwork too. He can throw a football.
Milton looks slow but his feet point at the receiver. So I would work on getting him to see faster and pre snap reads. I think he can be winner in this league. I want that kid to be the next late round beast or send him to Vegas.
That's why Zappe is still on the roster. Cannon fodder. He'll eventually get cut and will end up on someone's practice squad, maybe even the Pats.

In any given year there are only perhaps ten good NFL teams competing for the playoffs. So it’s kind of silly saying the Patriots aren’t a destination for free agents. If they have the money and they do, players will come. Mass taxes are a real problem & so is cold weather. That said, it’s laughable that anyone turns down 120 Mil. Most of the these FAs fall short of the teams & fans expectations.
Mass taxes are not a problem in any way shape or form. Several states have higher tax rates for sales tax, land tax, and other taxes. People overstate the millionaire tax and income tax differences because states like NH, TEN, FL, TX, etc eliminate specific taxes completely. Football aside that's a problem with selfishness and lack of community contributions. If a guy wants to go tax free I don't want him on the team TBH MA people are proud of their nation leading state government and well funded education.
MA income tax is 9% for NFL players, who make more than $1,000,000/yr. MA sales tax is 6.25%. real estate taxes are high, too. Players' agents and lawyers must disclose inconvient truths whether team owners or fans like it or not. Tax flight or avoidance is real.
