i learned about them from your channel and now own the 1974 and 1973...their gear is unmatched when you weigh all the factors...versatility, quality and price....RIP to Mr. Drawmer.
These Drawmer “year” products are perfect examples of the difference between what we get out of a digital plugin vs a real piece of hardware. Back in the 1990’s the older Drawmer DS-241 compressor was my go-to compressor for rap vocals. It just simply delivered. I think that’s something that could be said of all Drawmer products
No wayyy David! This morning I did added this unit to my wish list for the next purchase and said, weird David who likes drawmer products did not do a review! Thanks biiggg man 😁
Wow this sounds awsome, im considering going for drawmer units as my outbord chain. But have you tested their saturation box 1976? Keep up your great work btw, learning a lot from your channel 😊
Great video, David. I appreciate your spotlights on Drawmer pieces. Every Drawmer unit I've used has been worth way more than it cost. Their aftercare support is amazing too. Underrated brand.
David, Thank you for always responding. What heard you use the word smooth with the eq for this 1977. Since I am not near able to purchase a hardware. What would you say your top 5 musical or smooth eq's you've ever used in plugin form?
Plugins aren't that smooth unfortunately but probably Acustica Audio Erin, Make Belive Sontec MES-432D, Nova GE (parallel eq), SPL Passeq (only the top band), MAAG
Hey David, thanks for the review! I'm considering a channel strip and I am wondering why might you choose this unit over the Focusrite ISA 430? Thanks.
the 430 is a great strip but is discontinued and not supported anymore. Something fails you got nothing. Also a matter of sound, 1077 is much warmer than 430 which is fairly transparent
This looks and sounds like a great channels strip! I have a question tho. So I've heard that you never want to process audio on the way into recording a track, but, this channel strip seems to have a dedicated preamp only (direct) output in addition to the Main Output. So that being said, can this be wired to where that direct output goes directly to DAW track input of an audio interface, and then after recording, the same recorded track can be outputted from the DAW (using an audio interface output) back into the Line Input of this device to where audio processing can occur, and then the Main Output of this can go into a summing mixer, or back into the audio interface via a separate input?
Yes, you can use it as hardware insert and you can even keep all the cables connected and simply select which input you want to engage from the front panel
Awesome demo and sweet unit, so much professional grade bang for the buck. RIP Ivor Drawmer, his brilliant circuit designs will live on, that's for sure.

Same here. My 1974 and 1973 get a lot of use.
Oh… I am so sad to see that Ivor has passed. I have thought so many times about how brilliant and lovely the Drawmer engineering has been. 😢
Drawmer is big bang for the buck for sure, thank you David!
Impressive unit for sure, also Bella's voice is amazing!
This
May he RIP. I love my Drawmer 1974 that recommended I buy. Thank you for that
Not fair tho', everything sounds amazing with @bellakellyofficial voice lol jk great unit

What sold it for me was how great the Drawmer 1977 worked with Bella's voice.
I was hoping you would do a review and demo of 1977. I do rap vocals and will be new to analog. This was very helpful. Thank you.
That FET compressor sounds warm wow
i like the 1970 for drums... I don't know why this not.... =(
does the mix nob also affect the eq or just the compression and saturation?
So much packed in one unit, thank you David!
Very bitey. I bet this thing is killer on electric guitars.
drawmer is magic for acoustic guitars.
Thank you David, always the best reviews!
Seems to have a hell of a lot scope right across the board! Thanks for this demonstration.
No wayyy David! This morning I did added this unit to my wish list for the next purchase and said, weird David who likes drawmer products did not do a review! Thanks biiggg man 😁
The delay was our fault. We ran out of metalwork 🙈

I tested everything. Search and you will find ua-cam.com/video/hLzQbuzsb_w/v-deo.html
@@mixbustv I should have known 😅 thanks 🙏
Very nice unit!
Have you tried the Tube-Tech MEC 1A Channel? That would be cool to hear!
It's amazing, I recorded a full acoustic project with just that. It's also 6K lol
@@mixbustvand tube tec is so backordered right now it’s crazy. CL1B wait time is over 2 years on sweetwater smh
Ya too bad about the price! One day it will be mine.@@mixbustv

My highest regards Mr Drawmer and his legacy. Another awesome demonstration of Drawmers magic. Thanks to this channel for continued respectful work.

Hey @Mixbustv - thank you again for another excellent review and demo! As always, Bella sounds great!
Thank you!
Thanks for this excellent (as always) review David. ❤
🙌🙌 anytime!
Sounds rich and expensive
I'd liked to have heard a bass and guitar go straight in, though it looks cool for a vocal mic on its own. 😊
Watch the 1970 video, same front end, vocals, bass and more

I had this device from Softube and is Amazing congrats for you buying original device David
No you didn't :D you had the 1973 which is a multiband compressor. This is a totally different unit. But I do have the 73 too
@@mixbustv Yes sorry my bad
