Multiple Domain Names - SEO Benefit? BEFORE you buy 10 Domains, WATCH this!

Many people buy way more domain names than they need thinking there is a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) benefit to having several variations of their domain. While there are a few reasons to buy multiple domain names, SEO is not one of them in most cases.

Having different domains that feature a variety of keywords USED TO BE a good strategy to rank higher in Search Engine Results Page (SERP) but it's not the case anymore. In fact, doing this tactic may cause duplication issues, which will negatively affect your website's SEO and ranking.

What if what if you purchase additional domains that contain keywords and city names. Then build completely new content that targets a specific area of your main website?

There's definitely a benefit to having multiple websites with unique content. The words contained in the domain name are a factor but not as big a factor as they once were.

What if your main domain was "chicagostemcell" for SEO/search purposes and the actual name of your business was the one that gets forwarded to that domain. Would that help at all? I feel with the way google indexes, if people are looking for your business google will populate it anyways, so would having a keyword specific url do anything for google rank if that's the one with the hosting?

Yes, there are some benefits of having keywords in the URL. I did another video on that. ua-cam.com/video/ISR8LCqdS1U/v-deo.html
The reason local business names often show up is because they have little competition since they are unique. That's why a search for a business name often ranks the website for that business very high. Alternatively, if you have popular keywords in the domain, there will naturally be lots of competition and it won't be as easy to rank high.

if i have a business for which I have 2 websites with same address mentioned..does it effect my traffic..should i change the address on one of my site

Same physical address? It's curious why you have 2 websites for one business. This could definitely affect your rankings with Google maps and search in some way.

disagree mate, some of the existing domain and expired domain names have anywhere from 200-500 hits. This is directing all that traffic to the linked domain thus more traffic.
