If there's anything I've gathered from watching your content over the past months, it is that you and Mauro are incredibly capable and skilled in making things work for how you need it, and adapting your desires/designs around what is feasible and practical for you in terms of not spending excess money/energy/time. It's so exciting to watch you grow your space again and again, and to see these more intricate designs blooming in your minds as you work things out.

I would be reluctant to plant the false acacia. It can be incredibly invasive and is also extremely flamable. In fact a lot of the wild fires here in Portugal are fueled by acacia and also Eucalyptus. They are also a very fast growing tree that shadows out the native trees. I would look for native trees that have the shading properties you want. I think you already have some carob trees (Ceratonia siliqua) but that could be an option, other native species to consider could be sweet chestnut (castanea sativa) European beech (Fagus sylcatica) or how about Strawberry trees ( Arbutus unedo).
Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines. In the area where we have them it's imposible to get rid of them. We would be giving ourselves a new task 😅 Thanks for the suggestions. We have carobs and a strawberry tree we could try to reproduce.

If anyone can make that vision a reality I know it’s the both of you ! And some future help from little Santi I’m sure 😊 Amazing for me to think back to when I was growing up and my Dad worked for Bell Labs and brought home a solar panel from the Telstar satellite 1 and 2 project and it was larger than an IPhone but we could connect to our 9 volt transistor radio , point it at the sun and no batteries needed and it has taken far to long to get to where we are today when it comes to solar power… Telstar was in 1963
that's so cool! Yeah, every year we see they are selling bigger, more efficient panels (more watts in a smaller space), it's amazing to see how far it's come. Even if it had a slow start!

Hello everyone welcome back
I'll risk being Mr. Negative. Great future plans but once that little one is home, life will change drastically! Both my wife and I were avid doers, had livestock, and spent most days in the growing season out in the garden and doing many projects. Then came our preemie. Do you realize how tired (exhusted) you will be in the next year + with the whole focus being, looking after the baby. Up most of the night breastfeeding or your husband up to give you a break bottle feeding. Hopefully baby won't have colic! Whose going to be in the garden or looking after the animals? Your hubby needs to be online working as well. I would spend any current free time getting the house ready. Are the windows and spaces around the doors all now sealed for the winter, to keep the place warm? What is the plan when it is 40C next summer? Will there be an air conditioner? Those shelves that were recently installed need baby proofing. Is the woodstove baby proofed? Time will pass quickly with him up and walking and getting into everything. Many plans end up on the backburner for a while. Boy Scout motto, "Be Prepared."
Yeah we are mostly working on the house. We won't start any of this until that's where we want it to be! And I'm sure it'll be a long time before we are ready to start any kind of big building project. Other things like planting some nurse trees can be quickly done whenever, if we decided to prioritize it.
I am aligned with you. A baby changes EVERYTHING and for practically the first 1 or 2 years of his life, it is super difficult to get to do any house project.
Babies have a difficult time regulating body heat, especially preemies.That BLUETTI may need to be put to use to power a space heater in the winter and for sure an air con in the summer, to keep the little tyke comfortable.@@LittleSpanishFarmstead
I am so jealous of your pomegranate tree,I love them but in Wales we are limited to Apple's as our soil is very heavy,I hope Santiago is doing well,looking forward to your plans coming to fruition good luck in everything

Interesting to see the ideas for the future think when you do the office and you both want to work in there together where is Santiago supposed to be. Play area school area etc. don’t forget to get that sink down there on some bricks now you have decent water supply
When I work I can do it in short chunks, I don't need to be at my desk for hours, so he could be with us sleeping.. or in a rocker.. I have no idea, I don't know what's realistic, we'll see!

The battery is a good addition to the farm, good job. Now you have 2 batteries, so I think there will be easier with them. Maybe, after a while, a review of those with pros and cons, using them for some time.
