- The Association of British Muslims invited Pervez Hoodbhoy to speak on Islam and Science at Birmingham University on 10 October 2023. A lecture on the same topic was advertised for 13 October at the Regents Park Mosque in London. Threats from extremists led to its cancellation.

Internal discussions like this are essential for the development of Scientific temper within Islamic world. Kudos to you Mr. Pervez Hoodbhoy for the effort through your Black Hole program & now these lecture tours. Wish there were more people listening. The irony is this comment is coming from a technologist narrating Ramayana from Sanskrit to English. Scientific temper comes easily to us as we have so much content, you just have to discern science & belief constantly. Scientific base was introduced before 7 century at European countries by Galileo and others .
Other places were only civilizations like Indian civilization, sindhu civilization, misra civilization etc.
But Gulf countries have no research on science, but reapeting believes in introducing faith of religious beliefs with radical mindset.
Only a few scientific people like ibne Musa were there.
Nowadays, this is Reapeting information as proud.
But the base is very weak. 🙄

Sir,only islam has serious issues with science, all other prevailing religions large and small have no such issues with
it and are making material progress. Despite Professor Sir's efforts of almost 50 years he is still trying to inculcate science in his country's systems.

Next time I would love to see Dr Parvez and Dr Istiaq at Uni of Oxford. Recent Pakistani students at Oxford couldnt even invite any decent person from Pakistani, they invited the typical problem creators, totally incompetent students.
