She's always been a classy lady, a consumate actor, and I LOVE her for Shambala! The BEST to you always, Ms. Hedren!
She looks fabulous for 80 years old instantly recognised straight off shes kept her looks really well, i did not realise she was this old i though she was about 69 now shes 83.
LOVED the birds and marnie
I still remember the first time I saw "The Birds". It was in the 1960s. My eyes were glued to the tv screen. What a suspensel film.
The Birds is one of my favorites of Alfred Hitchcock! He did so well with his films.... Alfred Hitchcock will always be The Master of Suspense!
She aged very well. Quite Stunning.
My God! The woman is nearly 80 and she looks incredible!
If she's had any work done it's the most natural I've ever seen.
She still looks very much the same as she did in "The Birds" and "Marnie". So many people of her age are totally unrecognizable from their younger incarnations... but I can still see the beauty of her youth.
What a classy lady! I just love her. Still beautiful and so elegant.
Elegance and beauty also inner beauty is timeless - Dear Mrs. Hedren you are a splendid great Lady 💖💖💖
Love Tippi Hedren!
"I fear for the success of that film."- Tippi Hedren on the remake.
Amen to that!
Beautiful woman...great actress..
@BigScaryJoe: I think Hedren is referring to the brilliant Ub Iwerks, who Hitchcock "borrowed" from Disney Studios to oversee the special effects on "The Birds."
I love Tippi so beautiful still!
I remember watching that movie many moons ago.
I love her!
The Birds is one of my favorite movies. I must have seen it at least 30 times. Tippi Hedren is still very beautiful and elegant.
A very poised and polished speaker and presence, Miss Hedren. Impressive - Thanks.
Meet her at Saturday Nightmares Expo June 3rd-5th, Q&A and the screening of the Birds as well as autographs by Tippi all weekend long!
Isn't it funny that in the Birds, Tippi's name was Melanie&then she named her daughter Melanie. Such a GREAT film&such a GREAT actress!! And wow Melanie Griffiths looks EXACTLY like her mom 👌!!
Melanie was born before The Birds was made.
Yes Melanie was born in 1957 long before Tippi was ever cast in The Birds
lol the shade at the end
She found her way around addressing Hitchcock directly, and thanked the AFI invitation as the reason she is there. Must have been really hard to remember a traumatic time in front of an audience when her abuser is being celebrated. Not to take from Hitchcock talent, I admire his artistry but kudos to Tippi for her strength in this situation.
At the outset, Tippi Hedren, who is now 82, is one of the most breathtakingly stunning mature actresses around. She appeared at a Film Society of Lincoln Center gala for Sean Connery on stage to introduce clips from Marnie in 1995 and also looked great. I believe that there is validity to her account of sexual harassment by Hitchcock during the filming of The Birds and Marnie and his vindictiveness in wrecking her career, as dramatized in the forthcoming HBO movie, The Girl.
I LOVE THE BIRDS AND EVERYTHING HITCHCOCK
I COULD NOT SEE THIS FILM BEFIRE CAUSE IT GSVE ME BAD BAD ANXIETY BUT NOW I ENJOY IT TO ITS FULLEST
thank you for posting.
"The Birds" scared me to death as a child! I kept drawing pictures of birds attacking people after I saw it!
She is amazing!!
damn i wanna look like her when im 80
She still looks great at almost 80!! :)
"I fear for the success of it"
I am so glad she said that. So many times when a remake is made, the original actors tend to be polite and wish them luck, hiding their scorn of the idea (which is good in its own right). However, I like that she is upfront about her opinion that the movie will fail.
She looks better than Melanie ..:P
I had no idea she is related to Melanie. I agree on the looks.
@@malenyluna5275 Yes, she's her mother.
@BigScaryJoe The animators at Disney could still help create effects for other studio movies. Heh, back then they didn't have Industrial Light & Magic or WETA so they had to use The Walt Disney Company xD The effects are great though, even today.
Du Maurier's story isn't about a "peasant family" by "the seaside". It's about a farm worker and his family living on the very wild and beautiful coast of Cornwall, a county which Du Maurier knew and adored. And the attacks weren't in "the middle part of California" but specificallly in the beautiful town of Santa Cruz on the Monterey Bay. I hasten to add that I revere Ms Hedren, especially for her work on behalf of animals, but she was clearly quite nervous at the AFI appearance.
@Juliaflo fun fact thats the reason jamie lee got her role in holloween the director didnt want her at first then he learned he mother was janet leigh so he decided to go with her thus another briliant movie was made
She is still a beautiful woman after all these years.
What is that another Bird film she talked about at the end? is that released or still in making?
@GEVMM I SECOND that. Lest you are interested, 2010 marks the 50th anniversary of a Hitchcock film that seems be to the standard by which many of his later films are measured----PSYCHO.
Yes, it starred Jamie Lee Curtis's mother Janet Leigh.
@fannyanne2 I think you may be right, I didn't know, but Tippi is a natural if she did some procedures,it don't look like it on her.
@terelon I totally agree!!!!!!!!!!
Gorgeous classy lady, better looking than many younger gals.
Wishworks, I was thinking the SAME THING. haha
my mother 53 years old but Tippi looks much young than my mother
Was The Birds Hitchcock's revenge for Hedren being so beautiful.
yes. I saw an interview she did and she said he was 'possessive'' and he promised to ruin her career if she were to walk away from her contract at Universal
...not only, it took her quite a few years to finally get out from under his contract to move on and make 40 some more movies, as he HAD ruined her career. He was a genius...yet a narcisisstic man of means! I always held him in such high esteem...I was saddened that he was like this to Tippi!
hitchcock was infatuated with tippi, was stunning in her younger days
I didnt know that. But even if there is some project on the remake of the birds, you should come out of your Nostalgic state to clearly see the efforts and appretiate.
Personally I feel there should be new and better ideas rather than the remakes.
She still sounds the same. =]
She is still classy looking.
@bowler8 Maybe you need to look at a few more of tippi hedrons interviews, instead of slamming my comments down.
Some comments seem to say she was whining about her career after Hitchcock. I will view this over again because I couldn't hear the first part. But Ms. Hedren is very posed and beautiful and like another commenter, I love to hear her talk! I like her daughter Melanie but she just doesn't come real close to her mother as far as beauty and grace.
Hear,hear
You people that put down Alfred, your only hearing one side of the story.Dead people cant defend themsleves, take it at face value.
Hitchcock was slippin' it to her....
She's my grandma
This must have been difficult for her considering what she went through whilst making the film ... I've recently watched HBO's ''The Girl'' and all I can say is wow she has dignity, I couldn't and wouldn't have been so gracious and polite. Yes he was indeed the Master of film making and directing but it seems he was also a monster if the short film ''The Girl'' was anything to go by.
I just watched the HBO movie "the girl" and was appalled at his behavior being a huge fan of his work and he was a very powerful man who used his power to inflict such abuse on this strong woman. Why we must protect our rights. With his power he would definitely have used his influence to discredit her. Touche for her for standing her ground
Talk about a class act! Today's so-called actresses would do well to take a lesson from the likes of Tippi.
Why was this voted down? Nothing but fact.
@lady00010 Now I see where Melanie griffith gets her beauty, naturally from her momTippi.
Looking forward to her hosting TCM while Robert Osborne is unavailable.
Tippi almost looks younger than her oldest daughter-Melanie Griffith; at the very least they would pass for sisters.
She is a stunning woman, dunno if its a nerve thing talking in public but its one of my pet hates (bet I subconciously do it myself) but the constant erm, um between sentences LOL it really is annoyinh when your aware of it. Anyway I don't wanna strike up any h8 messages I just felty the need to mention it and as I say I bet I probably do it myself, I always thought it was a Scottish if not politicians thing but obviously not....
She is so freaking two-faced, and an okay actress.
😚 not true.
Tippi only got better with age. Women that age like this are very lucky. Yes, Tippi does look better than Melanie.
70 something and still gorgeous. Hitchcock was a fat pig but a great director. He was crazy as a loon but talented.
How come she looks like her daughter NOW, at an old age, when she doesn't look a thing like Melanie in THE BIRDS, when young?
Hitchcock wouldn't leave her alone, he wanted an affair, think tha'ts why she only made one more movie with him.
Poor Tippi, caught in such an awkward position. She called Hitchcock a "fat pig" when he made advances while filming 'Marnie', bitterly alienating each from the other. Yet her star is forever tied to Hitchcock, who discovered Tippi and put her in the two movies people still watch, so she can only say nice things about him.
she looks like herself
@mp01juve Tippi looks like she had some good plastic surgery; plus her daughter was attacked by the lions that Tippi held as pets, that caused damage to her face and I would imagine the subsequent phychological damage too...
And now...she hates Hitchcock's guts.
I would love to see the remake and Michael Bay's career both flop, but I understand that it probably won't Even a Bay hater like me will peek at it eventually cause I need ammo to tell people why his films suck.
Dadgum.....she was "fine" back in the day. Old age plays no favorites.
Terrible actress .
No, he was trying and she did not want him so he took vengeance against her. Very uncool.
I agree she strikes me as a whiner,Hitchcock has been dead for over 30 plus years, and know she comes out with this revelation.
She's talked about it for many years. I believe her 100%. He was brilliant as a director but was a total pig to his actresses.
