Hey Peter, I'm so glad you are doing the Hawaiian series. I watched a YT vid about a cruise ship that travels within the islands and it talks about the crew. I don't believe there is any historical value to the video, but I was surprised to learn that people would spend the money to cruise inter-island. I was saddened by the fire that hit Lahaina, especially all the historic buildings that were lost. There is new growth on the damaged Banyan Trees, it looks like they will make a complete recovery. I live in MA but have vacationed in HI.

I feel their pain. we have people in this world that could careless about doing the right things in life. Wouldn't it be nice if we the people had a way meaning ''us'' stay in control of these important things in our lives. There's more of us and we as a team should come together to better handle and control our most important things. We have a democrat and a republican party manipulating everything and they are all making more money than they should be. George Soros and others should be stopped!! We know they have a master plan to take all they can leaving the rest of us in the gutter's.

Maybe I'm missing something here. In the last year I've heard nothing but bats#it crazy, far-right conspiracy theories claiming that these rich liberals want to steal the land in hawaii from native Hawaiians. But apparently no one can get around the 99 year land lease agreements. That's the one important detail all these far-right nut jobs seem to leave out.

I love this guy’s philosophy, “people move here and try to change it exactly to the place they came from.” A warning of all states. If you move out of your state for better opportunities, leave your old place behind. You moved for a reason, don’t make the reason be you.

This car ride where the elder man was speaking about the owl meant the world to me! Yesterday was my 51st birthday. My Dad passed in March and in 2018 my 23 year old son was murdered. Long story short I had bought a bird feeder a few months back. Not one single bird has even paid any attention to it. Yesterday as it was pouring down rain a beautiful Red Robin and countless other birds decided to have their first go at the feeder. Eating together in the pouring rain! The Robin came and sat on my window and starred at me for what seemed like an hour. I cried like a baby! Holidays and Birthdays are always difficult for me and yesterday wasn’t any different UNTIl my son and Dad came to say Hi 😊 Thank you for this video Peter and thank you to the gentleman in the video. I paid very close attention to everything you were saying and I felt it with all my heart ❤️ 🙏🏼

I'm retired, living on social security, and I had that same feeling of not being able to afford to travel. But watching Peter's videos made me realize that I'm surrounded by interesting people communities I know very little about. A few blocks this way and a few miles that way. Filled with exceptional people living lives very different from mine. Peter has encouraged me to start speaking to who I used to think of as strangers, but now think of as characters in my very own video. They're waiting to tell me things I've never even imagined. A few blocks this way, a few miles that way; suddenly, I'm rich enough to travel.

Thinking about family in Oklahoma for generations and his comment of “if there are no Hawaiians, then how is this Hawaii?” truly speaks to the difference between the “state” of Hawaii and the mainland states. The rich heritage of Hawaii breaths through the people who have stayed in their land. We, as “Okies”, have a heritage, but theirs is deep and beautiful.

It is true about listening and looking for the omens or ancestors or amakua. When my boyfriend and I were out fishing between Maui and Lanai, we accidentally hooked a whale, probably on a barnacle. The whale pulled our boat backwards until my boyfriend was able to unhook us. Then the whale spy hopped in front of the boat, checking us out. We bowed in apology. My boyfriend was so overcome, that he proposed to me. I should have figured out that the whale pulled us backwards, and said no. Instead I said yes, thinking of the awesome thing we experienced. The marriage did not work out.

Mahalo Pietro for covering Hawaii. It is so sad how we took away their land. Hawaiians are very kind people. In your series hope you cover other islands, level of homelessness and steep prices for everything. We, tourists, drove their prices up and Hawaiians have to pay the same.

I have lived here in Maui for 25 years. This man speaks wisdom. Love it. So cool this see this beautiful island from your eyes. I don’t know how you found your contacts for these videos but it is excellent! Great work representing Hawaii the right way. Mahalo nui loa for this gift ❤
