Lmaoo fax , that's why he's a goated character superhero
@@starsdealer3473 facts I grew up with Tobey as my Spider-Man he’s still my fav
@Marco Santos LOL
Spider-Man was the best superhero movie of all time.
Obviously there was x men in 2000 but I think the 2002 spider man is what really made superhero movies so much more common and profitable, I mean its just a few superman and batman movies from the late 70s - early 90s until then (Obviously blade aswell but that's still very few over 25 years), then we get loads of superhero movies ever since
Seeing how far ahead Endgame is from the second on the list, its record is going to be really, really hard to beat. It's going to stay there for a very long time. Major props to the '78 Superman film too. Hopefully it holds out until 2028, so it would have been top grossing for half a century. That's insane.
I reckon Avengers: Secret Wars will blast it out of the water. The premise for that film is HUGE. Would include the X Men, fantastic four, the Avengers, the multiverse, everyone! Russo Brothers have just said a few days ago they'd love to direct it.
@@tristanrobinson9900 I doubt it. Why Endgame became so big is because it took years to build up and then the Infinity War gave everyone a big cliff hanger that everyone and their mama and people who are not even into superheroes or marvel movies wanted to know what happens next.
Unless secret wars take years to build up too I don't think everyone will be as interested in it.
@@Felix-co4jh it won't come out for years Felix considering Fantastic Four and X men haven't even been out yet and won't be till at least 2025 or later. Take a look at tne comics, the scope is HUGE. one of the covers of the comics for the series is just hundreds of varients of Thor lol others the avengers, X men, fantastic four etc all fighting together.
I'd love to see the list with this newest spiderman on it

@@rosvel92 your probably just a hater cuz it's not kiddo

Blade is a very underrated. It is the series that started the competition with DC.
Yeah, so true. Everyone always says "it was spiderman" but an awesome trilogy was already going from blade same with x-men. The latter x men United generally considered best in the franchise, sadly kinda underrated and overshadowed by spider man 2. This whole list breaks my brain once iron man 3 gets up there though. The fact that Superman 1978 is hanging in at the end is incredible. That movie stood the test of time.
Well technicly it just made a lot of money in 5 decades. While the newer movies made more money in less time. Think the dollar was worth more in the 70’s though…
Prefer Superman 3 myself, but the first one is a good one as well!
@@harrihaffi2713 You're not wrong. Though the fact that Superman 78 continued making money at a good enough clip to keep up with newer movies shows how it held people's interest over time. They adjusted it for inflation which most places don’t do for box office numbers - I think Tom Holland is the only Spider-Man to ever actually make $1 Billion at the box office
Bc how well they edit/scripted the movie if you have seen it, it’s very well made the edits are not that bad I think that’s one reason.
The animation is taking absolute numbers and then animated them over time. You can’t tell me they know how much money the original Superman actually makes every month in box office and digital as well as DVD and Blu-ray sales. It’s all a wild guess. Box office mojo has four weekends listed in 1978 and that’s it.

no on religion is gay, ASSEMBLE MY ATHEIST BROTHERS
@@poggers4392 oof well first of all, let's not assume religion's sexual orientation it's 2019 after all. Secondly, we're theology grads so this is a bit awkward. But we can definitely bond over the fact that ultimately due to our limited perspectives as humans we cannot make absolutist statements either way but must follow our convictions according to the prevailing evidence. Regardless, can't we discuss something less controversial, like politics?

Joker 2019?
@@dalto7887 , it is not technically a DC Universe film, so doesn't count.
Hahaha is true
The MCU was created w/o X-Men & Spider-Man. Makes me wonder if the DCEU would've actually been established if WB didn't have the movie rights to Superman & Batman.
Kind of obvious from this that over time, Marvel just had a much more diverse universe to draw from, for it's movies...
Nah, MCU has done wonders with their team…. Idk how or why but they have learned to mix the perfect amount of cheesy humor with seriousness. DC is a very much darker universe and it shows, Batman was so high grossing IMO because 1. It’s Batman he’s been around since 1930’s. 2. Batman in itself is a very very very dark story and the way DC movies have been (dark) Batman is the easiest to get spot on. 3. Heath ledger is the goat and bane was fucking brutal
No wonder Sony didn't want to give up the Spiderman rights.
Fr
Sony works for DC
Why would they..?lmao
@@Ad-zu8bt really?? Disney level money
Ikr disney would make spider man all happy and stuff I'm pretty sure that is what they did with star wars and marvel
**Blade appears**
DC: I feel a disturbance within the force....
lol
This is cursed in so many ways cinaidering disney owns marvel
*Disney Lawyer appears*
LAWYER: Hey DC, you can’t say that. We own the force.
Marvel: " Uh everything under control. Situation normal. Had a slight weapons malfunction but uh everything's perfectly alright now. We're all fine here now thank you....."
The fact that Steel is on the list in 87 for its 2 mill box office in 87 but Howard the duck isn't on the list for its 17 mill box office in 86 is a travesty. Hell even Punisher outgrossed Steel.
