      I ain't good at world history. What happened to the Russian army especially in 1837? With such an army population it doesn't look like any foe could do that without taking heavy casualties. I've not yet found this foe. "Even an army of pigs could not be wiped out in a couple of days"

      Doesn't quite work that way. Once a country bombs another and starts a war... and then loses that war... the winning country then usually occupies the losing country and forces them to disband their military until new leadership is in place that won't bomb the winning country. This is what happened to Japan.

      Does the Guerrillas Commandos count? South America has over 10 millions Lethal Guerrilla Commandos ready for suicidal missions to repel invaders in case the Army fails. Each Guerrilla Fighter is a bad ass worst than the Vietcong, the Japanese soldier of 1945, ISIS, Taliban, Al-qaeda, the French resistance. Luckily, they are mostly for defense for a 100 years war.

    • @saurillian
      @saurillian 4 роки тому +54

      Yeah, a lot of people died, not saying they didn't. But a lot of why army sizes dropped dramatically here is because a nation either lost a war and one of the conditions was a reduced military (Germany 1918), or because a nation lost a war and was dissolved (Turkey 1918), or because a nation stopped being an empire (UK 1950's), or a nation totally collapsed (USSR 1991). There are more reasons for less soldiers than just death
