- We install the Starlink satellite dish and run a speed test for you. This internet has changed the way we are living on our homestead. We HIGHLY recommend this to people who live in rural areas and have no other option but satellite internet.

Totally jealous from NW Pennsylvania.. been on the wait since Feb 9th.. Hopefully we get ours soon!
Hopfully! It's awesome and will be worth the wait!
Glad for the both of you. We just got our yesterday and it's absolutely amazing. Insanely fast.
Thanks!! And congrats, its so nice having reliable fast internet!
@@PootsPastures Agreed.
Jealous…still waiting for ours in WV. Been on the wait list since February. Enjoy!!!
Thanks, hopfully you get yours soon!
Thanks from the EnStore Dawn Project
I've been eyeing Starlink for a while as we look for internet at our new property. I was glad you showed your upload speeds as that's the most important metric for me, as a fellow UA-cam creator. I was a little bummed at the upload speed to be honest, but that's always the side that ISPs slack on. Few questions: What was the turnaround time for you from deposit to availability email to arrival of your device? What is the power draw of the electrical components? Thanks!
The upload speed is actually pretty good and will likely only get better. That is the thing about Starlink as satellites get added to the system everywhere gets better. The turn around has a lot to do with where you are. They have broken up the earth into cells and they are limiting the numbers in each cell. They are holding a little buffer as they are now allowing existing users to shift addresses. They are also production limited to around 5000 dishes a week worldwide so they are really not working through the backlog quickly. As chips become available and with the new dish design they expect to hit 20,000 a week quickly so that will help as they continue to add the new version of satellites at the same time.
It can draw up to 160W when the heaters are on. But the new dish is supposed to help with that.
Just like @JudeDornisch said the tag says 160 watts but passed that I'm not sure what it is usually using on a day to day basis. Also the upload speed isn't bad. We used to go into town and use a University's internet to upload videos and it takes about twice as long as using their hardwired internet was. That being said it only took about 5 minutes to upload this video (which isn't bad seeing as we don't have to make the 30 minute drive to town, and when we would use our wifi hot spot it would take about 5 hours to upload a video!
Well done I am thinking about Starlink if I get to build my log home in the USA.
It's fantastic, and rumors have it they are opening up to the entire US soon!
Nice, I noticed that the pole was a little wobbly, does it affect the bandwith if you stabilize it somehow or does the bandwidth increase on calm days? Since the satelite is so far away a little wobble will crate a huge shift sideways for the signal going back to the satelite.
The slight wobble has not affected the speed at all. Because starlink uses a mesh satellite system, where satellite are constantly going in and out of view, and not just one satellite that is always in the same spot, the field of view of the dish is pretty big.
My dish is on it's way, I have my pole concrete in the ground ready for the dish. I have a clear view of the sky with no obstructions, it should work great.
That's awsome, sounds like your install will be nice and easy!
Solar powered crypto mining, great way to generate heat. Starlink is a game changer. Love the channel.
Starlink has been awesome! Glad your enjoying our videos!
Where are you located and when do your order it and how long did it take to get?
From when it was available in our area to having it in hand took about a month or so.
Great video. Thanks for the information. I am planning on getting StarLink for my cabin which is in a remote area of Missouri. What I do not know is the cost. How much should I save up?
It's a $100 deposit, and then $500 once it's ready to ship, and then about $100 a month. Its a little pricy upfront, but worth it once you get it.
@@PootsPastures Thanks for the info. I appreciate your response. Blessings
@@PootsPastures I was just looking at this today. It's telling me only $99 deposit. Then $499 for the hardware when it's ready to ship.
Your right! I don't know why I put 500 twice I'll fix it. Thanks for correcting that!
@@PootsPastures my email says it's coming to NC by the end of this year! I hope it does, because we've only used our cell phones as a hotspot for the last 6 years! I'm excited for good internet!
Waiting in north Florida. What latitude are you guys?
It's worth the wait, and we are at 35 degrees N
30.5 here so coverage is moving south, can hardly wait!
What general area are you living.
We are in northern area
We live in Flagstaff and Suddenlink is trash here.
Starlink is going to tear up the internet world!
Yes it's fantastic sudden link was terrible when we lived in town!
i ordered a year ago and still havent gotten anything wtf is this
There are people who ordered the same day I did, in the same area, and have not recieved theirs yet. From what some other people have said it sounds like there is a cap on how many units there are for specific areas. Probably because they are trying to keep their speeds fast.
My guess is as they launch more and more satellites they will be able to send out more units.
That does suck, but hopfully you get yours soon!
This will be me soon
That's awsome! We are still living it!
@@PootsPastures when did you order it?
We ordered back in febuary/March, but we were on the wait list for about a month or two before it was redheaded in our area. Then it took a few weeks to get it
lol 200!!!??!
