I get tired of the fumes and heat waves from a gas stove but hate the idea of dealing with the lag on a traditional electric stove. Hopefully an induction stovetop and electric oven will be the best of both. Responsive without the fumes and wasted heat.

You need another video to show when the induction cooktop is turned on, the hood will automatically turn on also through home connect. I like wireless sensors can be installed onto pots and pans to maintain a specific temperature. I do not think anybody else has this feature.
i love my freedom 36 in It is the most innovative experience i have ever had. i can not get it hooked to my wifi and i can’t get the temperature control unit they keep telling me it is on back order just like the freedom down draft i can’t seem to get it ordered with out it taking me months to get i need your help

How many kwh does it use say on the high setting? And what's the price?
I thought it was a no no to slide cookware across the cook surface, but I'm seeing lots of product videos (including this one) where they do just that. How fragile is the cooktop surface? Can it be replaced if needed without forking over another $5k?
A replacement glass ceramic top for the 36" frameless Thermador Freedom induction cooktop is available for about $1200 (part #23002834).
Would this work with skillets or griddles with negative space on the bottom? Namely, old cast iron stuff. The rectangular and round griddles have raised perimeters, so the opposite side of the cooking surface sits maybe 3/4" off the stovetop.
Great question! Yes you can still use those pans. Usually, we don't recommend using cast iron on induction or electric cooktops since they scratch easily, but if you have a more expensive cast iron pan or griddle that you don't want to part with, be cautious and avoid sliding them back and forth as you're cooking. Cast iron does a great job at distributing and maintaining heat evenly across its surface, even if 100% of the surface isn't touching the cooktop. It just might take a bit longer to get your pan to the desired temperature.
Being good with low heat is actually the important part to me. Yah, having access to boil faster is great, but so many electric stoves I've used have trouble with any temperature that wasn't within Max heat. I'm definitely interested in looking at a induction stove/cooktop in general.
Yes we agree low heat performance is essential! I'm not sure if you watched through entirely but we showed an example of simmering a delicate sauce and melting and holding chocolate. This cooking is one of the best we have tested for low heat.
Lifting pan turns off heat you say, can you saute with the wrist without a hickup?
All of the pans used in the demo are round except for the special Teppanyaki pan. Does the system recognize square pans like a roasting pan? Does it show a square shape on the display and heat evenly?
Yes, the Thermador Induction cooktop will recognize any pan size as well as show the shape and heat evenly on its surface. But first, make sure the pan works on induction cooktops. An easy test is to get a magnet and see if it connects to the bottom of the pan. Hope that helps!
Do you know if the Thermador and Gaggenau induction cooktops are the same under the skin i.e. same manufacturer? They both have the "freedom" feature and very similar controls.

How many units of the Masterpiece Freedom 36" induction cooktop are out in the US? I really want to buy it, but I'm seeing very limited reviews. Is it worth and additional 2K?
Good question! You are correct, there isn't a ton of reviews of Thermador's new Freedom Induction cooktop. We have been using it live in our showroom for over a year and have no major complaints. We even have Chefs that come for events and use it with no complaints - they actually love it because of how responsive and flexible it is. Our house doesn't even have the choice for a Gas stove, some places don't bother installing gas lines these days.
Don't live in NJ. I live in Ga. I would like to upgrade my electric glass stovetop to this. Do you provide installation as well?

I got an Error code E0241. the screen told me disconect the power and connect back again. the problem persist. the Right half side of the cooktop doesn't work. What is the problem?
What cookware are you using? Is that stainless steel?

Correct! All Thermador appliances are Wi-Fi enabled using their app Home Connect. With cooktops you can monitor custom heat settings, child locks and even sync with a Thermador hood.

Yes, although the price of these will be going down. Regular induction cooktops and ranges are already the same price as average priced regular stoves. So induction is really for everyone.
