    Thanks for the video! Does the Thermador create a buzzing or clicking sound when in use? It seems to be an issue with some brands more than others. Thanks!

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  Рік тому +1

      Hello! When you use any type of induction it may have a low buzzing or hum. This is due to the magnetic fields from the cooktop interacting with the pan, so it's completely normal! The intensity of the noise can depend on the type of pots or pans you're using too.

    I love, love, love my Thermadore 48” range with six gas and two induction burners. But, moving and may not have the option to replicate the 48” range - so I may need to choose gas burners or induction and I am finding it may be a full induction cooktop in my future. Doing the research now. But the cooktop will be in the Island counter so no option for an overhead hood exhaust.

    and with the freedom part I would assume that you can also use a griddle anywhere on the surface so long as it fits, and put a paper towel in between if you want

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  Рік тому

      It does create a burner based on where you place the cookware (as long as it fits like you said). And it is safe where you can place a paper towel to catch drippings or splatter!

    Is there anyway to quickly swipe to high? This cooktop looks awesome, except the swipe up, swipe up, swipe up ..swipe up!!

      Hello! If you swipe and hold it until it reaches maximum, then you could quickly bring it up to high heat. Hopefully this helps!

    what would be cool is an induction cooktop setup like a french top. A large surface that depending on where you place the pot or pan will determine the amount of heat. In the center would be super hot and the further out you place the pot the cooler the temp would be and it could handle a dozen different pots at different temps

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  8 місяців тому

      This is a great idea! You could always set the temp to cooler once you move the pan. This cooktop is great because it lets you have different temps wherever you create a burner!

      Gaggenau's 400 series induction cooktop has a feature very similar to a french cooktop although it works from back to front rather than center out

      @@stefanslivinski290 I've used a french top just once and will forever miss it. Sooooo intuitive and imho, the way to use proper copper pans.
      I've just ordered a ranger cooker in the UK with the freedom style top. I'm hated an old induction hob as it was so slow to slected and change the power with it's stupid + & - "buttons". This new one looks to be a lot lot better with quick swipe gestures and set temps for melting, warming and simmering.

    You called what looked like paper towels under the sausage parchment paper. Is it parchment like you use for baking or a special paper towel. I'm very interested in the answer to this. My new Freedom top was just installed.

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  8 місяців тому

      You can do either one on induction. Paper towels, parchment paper, etc. won't burn on induction.

    Looks amazing … can you please explain why induction cooktops can’t be used with a WOK for stir fry?

    • @cailinanne
      @cailinanne 4 місяці тому +1

      They can, you just can’t do the sir fry motion with the handle since it comes off the heat. You just have to sir it with a spatula. Honestly a round induction base designed for a wok is better than using a traditional gas stove or flat induction. But so is a round gas stove designed for a wok…
      I guess what I’m getting at is that it’s no different than a gas cook top. 🤷🏼‍♀️ idk why people always say you can’t use one, I do all the time.

    I am curious if pasta water boils over , will it affect the touch screen? I know u showed a bit of sauce splattering, but what about watery? Can it damage the touch screen controls?

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  10 місяців тому

      As long as there isn't a crack, or a space in the seal on the countertop, it won't be damaged. The cooktop's surface protects the touch screen. If you can avoid getting liquid in that area though, just in case there is a crack or space in the seal, that would be best. (This applies to spraying cleaning products as well).

    Wait? Doesn’t an Induction capable pan need to be on the surface for it to activate the heat? A cat, or a child, cant do any damage if there is no Induction capable pot in contact with the surface, Right? Also, is the heat applying to all surface that is touching the cooktop - i.e., such as, a rectangular or large oval griddle pan?

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  Рік тому

      Hello! They could, it depends on the cooktop. What we were trying to say is if it did accidentally get turned on, it wouldn't burn or hurt anything since it needs a magnetic pan to activate. Hopefully this helps clarify!

  • @user-we6bs9yp5v

    Why does this cooktop, since it is induction, have an unwanted inaccurate 0-9 heat scale. When this thing should have the ability to choose a precise temperature. Like 350 degrees. Why are you cheating yourself out of customers with a product that does not perform to the capacity it has the ability to perform? This makes it inferior. Disappointing.

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  8 місяців тому +2

      With different pan types, ventilation, settings, etc. cooktops temperatures would fluctuate. It wouldn't be able to accurately predict or distribute the correct temperature to a cooktop pan since it is exposed to what ever environment you're in. Ovens trap the heat and can provide an accurate read/consistent temperature, cooktops are exposed so they cannot.

    • @JackChristensen
      @JackChristensen 5 місяців тому +3

      There is wireless sensor (about 1.5" diameter) you can stick to the side of a pot which will automatically maintain a temperature within that pot. This is an optional accessory for the cooktop called the TCOOKSENSW. You can change that temperature via the control panel at any time (with 2º F resolution).
