Excellent video, Gord. I was completely unaware of the edit option stitching. This whole time I've been simply splitting the track at two spots, deleting the what I didn't want and then clicking and dragging the separated track together. Well, damn. This'll save me a LOT of time.

Hi Nicholas. I currently use Camtasia and Adobe Premiere Pro, but I have contemplated PowerDirector. I have heard great things about that software. But for now, I am afraid I am not knowledgeable in that one.
Hi Gord, great vids. One thing I struggle with is the lag between the stitched clips. The second video clip "hangs" for a micro second (audio still plays ok) which makes editing very difficult. I thought it was my computer so went and bought a brand new "beefed up" laptop with dedicated graphics card and the problem still exists (not as bad though). Any suggestions on how to resolve this? I tried running in Software Only mode but that was worse then using the dedicated graphics card. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Mike
Hey Mike, are you referring to lag in your rendered video, or lag in Camtasia as your playing through the content on the timeline in the editing process? I ask because it's not that uncommon to experience a lag in the editor while working on your project. One trick I do to see if there's a "real" lag is to select a small portion of the timeline - e.g. where you have a stitch scenario - and then render that little piece to check out the playback performance. If there's no lag then you know it's only internal to the editor.
Fine, how can I delete a long part of video without continue moving & pulls the marker to the end of the video. eg, I have 5 minutes videos but I need only 2 minutes so the rest of 3 minutes in the timeline is a long, can I do it simply ?
To delete a section, be sure you have it selected first, and then you can use from the menu "Edit - Cut" (Ctrl + X on keyboard for shortcut), or "Edit - Delete" (using the delete key). The main part here is that you need to select all that you want to delete. Sometime, you many want to make a Split/Cut (Ctrl S) to help you separate what you don't want to cut from what you do want to cut. Also, you may want to be cutting multiple clips from the timelines, and to do that, you need to be sure you've selected multiple media/clips from the timeline before you do the cut/delete. Note, you can use the Ripple Delete as well - explained in this video.
If you use the "undo" (or Ctrl + Z) you can undo your last change - in your case, maybe the ripple delete. If the change was done several steps ago, you can keep doing more "undo"s to get back to a state that was before the ripple delete. If you left the project and came back in then, unfortunately, that "undo" won't solve the problem. There is a way to repair the ripple delete, in a way, and that involves using the "unstich" feature and adjusting the media length on both sides of the unstiched parts. This approach would require you knowing what you deleted from memory and adjusting accordingly. I hope this helps.

4 months later, I came back and learned something new. Using the CTRL command keys for ripple deleting. Wow! Time saver! Thanks.

Yes. All you need to do is be sure that you've selected both clips if they are layered one on top of the other? Does that answer your question?
