Thank you for this comparison, we needed to see this. I agree with everything you said: paint gems has such trashy drills for such an expensive kit. I’m saving them in an EW container and it’s filling up 😡 Every edition I’ve done is filled with trash. The individual drill bags at DAC are bad for the environment and a source of pollution and a turn off. The green and other color mats at DAC are almost a deal breaker, ugh. Such nauseous colors and so off center. So thank you, I think I’ll finish up the few editions of PGM in my stash and call it good. 👍
Thanks for your review. I actually did a similar one a few weeks ago but my channel is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than yours 😁 I could not agree with you more though. I did not like the separate packages of drills. I had 95 bags to open for 23 colors. Too much. It’s stopped me from buying any more (so far) even though I’d like to have their fairy dust for spares, and instead got me to buy more Paint Gems. I feel like you get more for your money, especially if it’s the 16 packs, or a sale like you said. Always enjoy listening to you. Have learned a lot from you. Thanks so much
@@Rubies_And_Moonstones 95 bags! Wow! I don’t think I counted how many I had. It is nice to have the fairy dust for spares, but I also bought some myself from DP with Sparklers. Congrats on your channel!!
Thanks, Daphne. I find it disappointing that these are so unavailable. Sell outs do occur with PaintGem, too, so I guess that's just the nature of new arrivals. 💜😐💜
I think the only DAC mini I'm interested in is the flowers and patriotic. But that's for later down the road. As always, great info from you. Take care.
Thank You for the review, Daphne. I haven’t worked any Paint gems. I think they were pricy. I don’t have a big budget for paintings. I’m saving for Black Friday. They’d be really cute for my grands who like to DP though. Have a great day.
@@DiamondPaintingAnonymous Yes! They also have mini kits similar to paint gems. They are much cheaper and you can even get them lower when you apply the online %30 off they regularly have. They are also only 6 pieces in one package. Their themes are so similar to PG.
I have done both. I feel the DAC ones are better quality. Maybe a bit much on the special drills, not paintgems doesn't have any. They are great to save for other projects. The kitting up for DAC was horrible. Some colors have 4 to 6 bags of one color. I use them as a break from a painting that I am over 100 hours on. So when I finish a section, I get to do a small picture. As far as offerings, yes Paintgem has more, but they have been doing this for a few years now, and DAC a few weeks. Also, you didn't mention the coveted new tool kit. I LOVE the small trays, as their newer large ones are too large for me, the pen, well, it's a love/hate relationship at the moment. I am looking forward to doing another mystery kit with Paintgem. Here is only four pictures in it. They have come out with some newer ones that take up most of the space on the canvas, so they will take longer to do.
@@elnoralouisa1 I’m not personally a fan of the new toolkit. I like my trays to have taller walls, but everyone works differently. Thanks for sharing!!
I agree with having the diamonds packaged together rather than separately. I don't kit up my drills. I leave them in the plastic, but I would still prefer them to be all together for a smaller kit like this.
Paintgem drills drive me bananas lol. I'm hoping dac expands the minis but I'm not sure how I'll like all special drills. I haven't opened the 2 dac minis i bought yet, so thanks for the video of yours
@@DiamondPaintingAnonymous yes. I’m thinking of contacting the company. I bought it new from the company and it didn’t have a perforated cover sheet, which wasn’t a big deal to me, but was an indication that it was old stock. Then there have been half old and new drills. What would you recommend?
Sounds like DAC is branching out? Seem to be trying to branch out from just huge DP's or taking away from smaller businesses? Special new trays with lids, special refillable and thicker pens, and now mini gems of various things (not licensed). I kinda wish they would pick up on some other things like PD and AI.
I'm curious how you were able to finish them in 3 hours? I've done the paint gem ones and one canvas took me 3 hours. I guess I'm just a slow dp'er lol
@@DiamondPaintingAnonymous That makes sense! Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed paint gem has a good amount of trash. I was surprised when I was working on mine how many had tabs and how much trash I was pulling out. But they are definitely a fun project and helped me when I needed a break from studying.

Thanks for the review. I’m with you about the diamonds being packaged separately for each kit. Such a waste. Hopefully DAV will improve that in time.

Please include the Make market kit in that comparison. That would be interesting, especially because they are round!

I’m doing a DAC Silver Husky kit and it will probably be my last DAC. Due to gapping and trash. It’s been a challenge.
