For my homebrew chapter of Space Marines, I've decided the icon as a black urn silhouette with a teardrop centered on the urn. Hearing how you talked about the difference between teal and cyan as the duality of water, I'm torn between making the tear either cyan, or darker. Thank you guys for the in-depth explanations and discussions about this. I hope if you guys have a discord, I can show off my final marine when I get around to it.
Yeah... it's good but it is super dry, I think it was one our better pieces of work. Three pieces I really like is that, In-depth and colour harmonys which I think is probably the best works but I want to re do both in-depth colour psychology due to the sound and application so I can do it with a little more passion so more people see it - Cal
Yet another banger. Kinda understand now why I like metallic alpha legion now - deep sea (dark and chaotic), that works really well with Hydra theme, + high reflectiveness of chrome trim parts + added reflectiveness to the main color does add some meanings to the mix.
This is genuinley a great way to teach people stuff. some really good amounts of color psychology and its all done through this over expensive geeky wargame.
i do have ome teal death guards (my first army). i ended up making them aquatic themed, the bone protrusion being replaced by coral as the basis of their plague
@@WhatareyouPaintingnow less than i wish, but i work on it. Since i discovered this video, its amusing to think what these Colours now say about me, especially because i had no clue of the meanings of most of those
Before watching the video I like the iron warriors and the world eaters the most so that's lots of dark metallics with some black and yellow and then lots of dark red with bronze
Cool video, sad you didn't reference Copper, would've been been interested to know whether or was considered a metallic red or orange & what that inferred. Also regarding the stormcasts, your critique of the initial promo colours is pretty accurate, at least from my opinion, so do you think they purposely changed the figurehead army for this latest release because GW finally worked out (or received enough feedback) to say the same?
@@SgtT8ie well it's always hard to figure if games workshop figured something out or they just finally figured that perhaps that mob with pitchforks isn't going away - Cal
Can we hope for a part 4 where you go into the rose-golds, reddish-golds green-golds, verdigris, copper, blue-steel and similar? Saying "I want this to be golden" is pretty easy, but I feel like there is so much that can be conveyed with the subtle differences in tint when it comes to metallics...
Im trying to design a colour scheme with as many colours as possible, but i can't work out how. They are supposed to be a very artistic chapter of space marines aswell as a very creative one about self-expression (grimdark i know) but i can't work out how to use lots of colour without it looking messy and horrible. Have you got any advice?
you forgor slaanesh has magenta, purple n violet all around it is the god(dess) of excess, the prince of pleasure, she who thirts, the youngest of the chaos gods, also, when looking at the negatives of magenta sharing with yellow, you can see that within the primary colors of the chaos gods, replacing the slaanesh magenpurviopinkish with yellowish seems to make a little bit of sense, but because is chaos, magenpurviopinkish takes place :)
