Actually guilty gear strive is a fishing game. it just comes with a soundtrack and a 4-hr anime movie and i guess a fighting game too

It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that this video chaged my life, I had never heard of guilty gear or even played a fighting game, now a year later I've put 100s of hours in gone to tournaments and made friends I never would have met. So, I guess, thank you dunkey.

Bonus points for sounding close to Crush 40's répertoire (the group that made most of the lyrical Sonic songs)

I was up against a Potemkin last night with 211ms ping, and the game noticibly lagged only twice. Every other game has been flawless. It's like rollback netcode is magic.

You should really check the series if you're interested, it's underrated. The previous games are cheaper and are even wackier (although they are less friendly to new players)

Strive has done really well bringing in new players to the genre, i've been playing GG for years but the tutorial missions really helped me understand some stuff better. Even so the game is made in a way that you can have fun if you're a casual or an enthusiast in fighting games which is really impressive.

That was a really weird example since uniclr has an even more diverse roster than strive.
Combos are also super freeform so two players using the same character will play completely differently.

Since every character plays so differently yet they have the same weird anime look, I am not motivated to try different characters because their “character” is not appealing.

May's super is officially "Troupple King" but, more importantly, the poke into dolphin is officially the "Dunkey Missile". You know, Axl's English actor is a UA-camr, maybe you can get in touch with him and he can get in touch with May's English actor and she can actually yell "Dunkey Missile" for you.

@@crinine6174 That isnt always the case. Like I'm pretty sure theres not alot of people playing Tekken 6. Though Xrd is an interesting case, the game was already dead online to begin with but theres probably some people out there who still play since Xrd still is a sick ass game
Yes and no. Xrd has terrible netcode however Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R for like $5 on steam has a bunch of players because it recently got a fantastic netcode update and some excellent replay features where you can watch a replay of your match against someone else, and then jump in at any point and take control of your character to see how you could have played those few seconds differently. It’s great for learning how to fight against a character you don’t play.
You’re right usually it’s two games of a series that are being played but it varies from series to series.
I.e. SFV and SF3: third strike (not really sf4); GG strive and GG XX AC+R, , etc.
@@crinine6174 xrd is still populated, but you have to work for it unfortunately. you'll have to look for games in the discord and try to find your local scene, online and/or offline. but there's definitely a community for it.

I got into this game in this year's Steam sale, and after watching a few "for beginners" videos that throw a million bits of jargon at you, I'm amazed at how concisely Dunkey manages to summarise everything - and while still being funny!
I could listen to Dunkey jam out to the Guilty Gear OST all day.

I never thought I’d see Dunkey talk about Guilty Gear…especially not in a positive way. Although, that jab at the story is totally warranted. It is needlessly complicated.
