I've now followed Stephanie Trick 3-4 years on UA-cam (What should We do without UA-cam), and - as many co-followers are writing in their comments about Stephanie's jazz piano playing - She's getting better and better. More mature and with greater feeling! I'm looking foreward to be hearing her live with her husbond Paolo Aldarighi at the annual Riverboat Jazz Festival in Silkeborg, Denmark, June 23 and 24 2017! Like in 2016!
This is one of the best versions of this piece, no doubt. Even though there are faster versions out there, this is still very fast, and I'm not sure the faster versions people play have the full range of left hand like Stephanie have. This must have been a wonderful memory for those listeners. Of course Brian Holland have a great version too.
Wow, wow, wow. This kind of music deserves a wider audience. Why does only classical music get the subsidies (at least here in Germany). Actually, I discovered Stephanie on youtube and the next time she performed within driving distance, I went and sat marvelling at her feet, first row. See you next time!
Thank you! Very nice to hear. I couldn't agree more! This music is great and should be funded much more! And Stephanie is absolutely fantastic, and one of the all time best to play Fats Waller and James P Johnson, and of course much other also! True World class! And wonderful music you could listen to forever! Best regards, Tom
Stephanie Trick is only getting BETTER, this performance is sheer perfection..the Sweetheart of the Stride Piano strikes again! This is a MARVELOUSLY terrific performance! Thank you Tom, for posting this great video! :>)
Yep. And most of that is in the fingers (except for the stride of course). Great musicians don't waste movement, so what's left all gets done very precisely. Again, stride requires total focus on the big two-octave jumps of the left hand, so the right-hand gymnastics have to be drilled until nearly automatic. Notice what she's looking at most of the time.
I played piano for the better part of my life. I can't grasp how people can achieve this level of mastery. What a delight to listen to.
Stephanie your the best at stride piano.
That stride is very wide and the piece covers the whole keyboard. Such athleticism.
Tight! Tight! TIGHT! She is why we love UA-cam. ❤Trick❤
That bass on that piano is just amazing!
I love her playing and her.
This the First time I've seen this woman play. Frankly I'm astounded!

Sooooo incredible.

That's a lot of fun...Almost a touch of Fats Waller!

Maravillosa !
Sehr gut!!
super ! ! !
Her touch is sublime. More sublime than anything I've heard in a long time.
Also, I thought Bach Up To Me was in E flat?!
I just checked -- Fats played it in F.
Paolo is the luckiest man alive!
Similar to Fats Waller's "Piccadilly" from his London Suite.
Is she ever going to try the organ like Fats did? She would be just as awesome.
Quelle main gauche , c'est du stride au tempo digne des plus grands .
🍬
It always fascinates me to watch slim performers playing Fats.
🎀👌💥🔥👍💯
