I literally have bought a lure and did what Matt said.. caught fish after fish. I'm 3000 miles from California and it still worked. They are my favorites.
I lost one over 10 recently on a bed. Once She got hooked the first time, she took off out into the deep. Almost wish I hadn't swung on her that time...Learning and Getting better. Thanks for all of the Tips guys!!
Thanks for emphasizing the catch and release protocol. As most of us are aware of the males protect the beds and the hatching fry. If we disrupt this process the predators such as the bluegills, crappie or sunfish will eat the defenseless newly hatched baby bass and at worst, the majority of the fertilized bass eggs. Mat, you're the pro and I thank you for your sound advice to keep this hobby healthy and enjoyable.
Not much of a protocol. Where I'm from there is a clear law on closed periods for any predatory fish (Netherlands, pike, perch, cat fish, trout etc) during Spring. Fishing them during this period can leave you with a USD 1K penalty, including confiscation of your rods and gear. Outside the season we maintain rules about minimum sizes for each species (this goes for both river and sea fish), this to guarantee the fish survive and fishermen have fish to catch. I'm currently living in South Korea where these kind of rules don't apply. Result is that the whole nation is fishing for bass, but nothing to catch. It's like throwing lines into a dry desert.
@@jurgenkonings137 Another effect of this is so many people fish in the same areas and those fish stress themselves into developing illnesses and dying. Here in Michigan, this is a common sight on inland lakes and along the shore of every single body of water. Any fish within these bodies of water either slow down bite wise and hardly touch anything due to being caught too many times, seeing the same baits and get wary, or gain immune based diseases that are specific to their genus, specifically black bass. The latter will of course give them lock jaw and not bite till they die of starvation. Overfishing does exist and it's unfortunate not enough laws exist to express the importance that natural resources are not infinite and should be respected, this includes the nesting times for fish. A penalty and the loss of fishing rights should really be in place for all spawning seasons for fish in my opinion, because really, it's not the end of the world if you have to wait 3 weeks or so for the fish to finish their nesting and protecting of their fry.
Gotta love when you give off positive vibes animals tend to pick up on it. Those deer weren't even bothered by you talking to the camera. Now thats truly blending into your environment
After a 9 year hiatus I’ve recently picked the bass rods back up again. Stumbled upon these guys and it’s made my re-entry soooo efficient. Thank you gentlemen!!!!!
Netflix and other video streaming subscription companies are missing out big time. I'd have a tacticalbassin season 1 on my platform asap. Just traveling, fishing, teaching. I know I'd binge watch it

*This place is beautiful, beautiful fishing Congratulations! God be with you!!*_ 👍🎣🐟😊
The other day I found a bass bedding and watched him approach 3 different baits but wouldn't bite them and now I think I know how I can re-rig for better results :). You guys are the best
I cant even begin to describe how much i learned from this video. Really helped me understand alot about bed fishing. Ive never done much in the past but they are bedding around me right now and this helps me out tons. Awesome job homie
Awesome video man!!! Lotta knowledge you dropped there... I've caught a few off bed and you literally ran down the exact scenario I went through to catch the bass.
Hey Matt & Tim! Thank you for the tips you guys show on here. If it wasn't for you guys, I would not have persisted and caught my PB bed fish yesterday. I caught her on a micro jig, which I learned from this video. My fishery was a local pressured pond and it took me about 45 minutes. Again, without the persistence that I learned from this video, I would have gave up and went home after 10-20 minutes.
Nothing better than tactical on my bday. I've said before in the comments that I'm really working on my jig fishing this year so I really feel like this one is for me lol. Thanks guys!!
I'm glad you guys teach us what you teach us Matt. We enjoy watching you an what your friends teach us is great info to be better fishermen. You should compete in tournaments Matt. I believe you an your team competing in tournaments for bass you guys would do very well
So true about catching the male bass. I had a 3.5 male and what looked to be a 8+ female on the bed at Santee Cooper and caught the male and the female left quickly never to return. Hard not to set the hook when you've got 0 in the livewell in a tournament lol
I’ve been in three kayak tournaments so far with zero fish, and someone else walking off to their truck at the end of the day with my $40 entry fee as part of their prize package. Days like that, I’d set the hook on a small male too. 🤣
Just the video I needed. The big ones are on the bank on the Chick Matt!!!! But I know you already know. Come to the back pocket of Harbor Lights Marina. I'll be there.
Had an EPIC day of fishing yesterday. Broke my PB twice in one day and slaughtered em. We found em stacked up in one spot and killed it. Best day I’ve ever had on the water so far. 1/4 oz Underspin with a 3.3 Keitech in Sexy Shad. We had over 19 pounds for our 5 biggest bass. I have Tactical Bassin to thank for helping along the way. Thanks guys!!!
The pond that I stop at after work doesn't have any bass larger than 4 lbs. I've been using my ultralight gear the past couple of weeks and it's a blast.
Matt and Tim give us all their real time info. They don't hold any secrets. They are in my opinion ........on of the best to follow! But what the heck do I know......... I'm only 45 and grew up in Clear Lake/Lake County. And no we have not met........yet!
Great video. Best fishing channel out there. I watched your chatterbait video from months back and got some good info. Never had any confidence in a chatterbait, but I caught my personal best 7 lb 6 oz this weekend. Don’t know where I would be without you guys. Thanks!
Lake without bed fishing pressure...I wish I knew where that was...lol. fishing has taken a huge jump in the last year in popularity in my area at least and I'm having a lot less luck it seems. Still catching em but the quality of fish has taken a seriously big dive. GREAT VIDEO! THANKS!
Since I watched your video on glasses years ago I bought a pair and I have love them ever since I’ll never buy a different pair of sunglasses for fishing these are cheap and the best I’ve ever used thank you so much for your input and advice. Happy fishin!!
Thank you very much for he video. Yesterday i tied a ned rig with a zman craw. Wow amazing i downsized an worked a bed for about 30 min. Nice 15” bass. My 1st Ned Rig Bass. Thanks for the tips.
Found some absolute tanks in the back of a creek on Joe Pool yesterday afternoon. 12-18 inches of water in a rocky area. Took 15- 20 casts with a white pearl Swimmin Dinger to finally get the big girl mad enough! LOL 20inches long about 5lbs. There was a 7 cruising but she was super skittish. ZOOMING around us in the rocks
I literally just had this happen to me yesterday.. dropped 10 inch culprit on their bed over and over and they just grabbed the tail and removed it lol 3 hours later... NOTHING ... sizing down today 👍... line's tight boys!!
Finally, I've been waiting to see you mention the zman craw, that thing is awesome on my home river. Also, Big bite baits a great small sunfish imitator worth checking out.
I absolutely love your guys videos. I trust every tip that you guys give. I am from Ohio and there is still snow on the ground, so we are a little ways away from the spawn up here haha but best believe I can't wait to try your tips as soon as that water hits 50!
I've noticed fishing beds for years the male is the only true parent. So when it comes to tournaments.. pulling bucks is the problem. They will protect and guard the fry 99% of the time. If your conscious about fish predation just put the males back. I know its ruff to have 4 in the box and need that limit but hey. It's your decision to make.
What about using something like a necko rig? Can put the hook further in the back so you can use a slightly larger bait and put the hook in the back where the hookup ratio would still be good.
As you said some people are against bed fishing I'm one of them as mentioned it is legal but use your better judgment .there are a few study's out there explaining the numbers of fry being decimated only after being removed from the bed for 10 minutes it's around 50% and 100% if not returned, see a recent study by Gord Pyzer for more details .I like to explore my options at this time of year trying to find fish that are pre or post spawn as you no not all fish will spawn at the same time in the lake or Reservoir giving the fish a better chance of reproduction, maybe a video on finding non-spawning bass would be way more helpful
the first time i went bed fishing it took me 4 hrs to get a bedding fish to bite. After i caught it i finally realized how much time i put into it. lol.
I can’t believe how cqlm The deer 🦌 in the background were. It’s almost as if they know when they are in season and when they aren’t. That bigger one seemed too be a pet.
There was a dude who only bed fished at the same lake every year and he was on bass magazines. The rest of the year he didn’t even fish. He had his won Phoenix rod even... That lake had a massive die off, and his career was over. The universe corrects things like this.
That was Joe, the fishing community is very small. 👍 Its a shame the golden algae hit that private lake. I got the chance to fish there once... caught a few fish on lipless cranks, nothing special, but it was amazing to be on a lake with that caliber of bass.
I agree, that lake was fire! I used to get harassed by the lifeguards as you couldn’t cast anywhere near the docks. Lots of people pinned bluegill or re-hooked stocked trout there. That Joe guy was a fraud like Mike Long. I appreciate what you guys do more than you know. I can tell it’s about the love of fishing and the joy you guys get from sharing your knowledge so others can feel the same joy. I’d like to wish you guys a very merry Christmas, and a happy new year! May 2020 be the year you get that new PB! Cheers!
You guys are the standard for bass fishing info keep putting out fire vids....

anyone else notice the fishing line coming from that Bass's body at 19:30 ?
Fred McCormack someone must not have followed Matt's instruction for a good leader knot 😀

Bet you this is Tim’s favorite time of year!!
The ned rig might be my go-to for the spawn
GREAT video, dude. One of the best tutorials I've ever seen on bed fishing. Congrats, and keep up the good work:)
I've been using the same techniques for years sight fishing and I've honed it to produce what I like.
That was awesome Matt,I completely speechless, I can't wait to bed fishing, good luck everyone 👊👊👍🍻🍺

I just bitched at a youtuber for putting a fish in a live well..... he got mad. You guys have the best fishing channel hands down
Wait what's wrong with that?
@@FruddyG nothing lol

Man that was a giant fish in first 1:30 seconds of the video. Giant fish
Last year I started using a kamooki smart craw it’s a stand up lipless hard bait for bed fishing works really good
Thanx guys love these under water vids.

Hang in there!!
Late comment idc your insight is just great
Down here in the south!! I’d like one a third that size. I’ll have to shop around.
Always love watching videos from people who have the same addiction i do. Keep it up.
Thanks Gary!
Another great video
Thanks Matt.
awesome video!! Thanks for all the great tips!
Best class on the web
Shoutout to the deer in the back.😂😂
Your videos are the best i always learn something new with u guys..
Thanks for the tips, Matt!
Another to notch video. Thanks for all the info. I'm amazed at how the stuff you show in California works here in Tennessee too.
You are the nature whisperer lol.
Awesome video. Loved seeing the underwater action and the deer was cool too! 👍

Priceless information thanks ! 👍🏼

Love the deer video-bombing!
Can’t wait
Excellent vid!
Great video Matt but do you offer guided deer hunting from your boat?
What if the place you fish has a sandy bottom or a muddy bottom what would you suggest for locations where they might be or what lures to use?
Same lures apply but look for fish on any/every piece of cover... anything that stands out from the norm.
Finally, I've been waiting to see you mention the zman craw, that thing is awesome on my home river. Also, Big bite baits a great small sunfish imitator worth checking out.

Firm believer on the 5-6 inch area of the bed that a guarding bass will attack. Find it and it ticks them off.
the first time i went bed fishing it took me 4 hrs to get a bedding fish to bite. After i caught it i finally realized how much time i put into it. lol.
No bed fishing here in Ontario, Canada. No bass fishing till the last Saturday in June.
