I personally don’t care about a larger scale “reissue”.
I think the 1/5th is already fairly large, and holds a fantastic presence as it is.
if hot toys wasn't coming out with the battle damaged Vader I would get the statue, but you can pose the figure more than the statue, so I'm sticking with my figure preorder.
i got the obi wan Vader and is amazing , i preorder as well the new one deluxe , the new one is with the nylon material so no flaking and you can pose it finally,, also the cape shaped as vader helmet is amazing
I am just not a statue guy. Got in to Hot Toys because i can change the pose when i get bored. Not that i ever really do, but i can if i want. After a few months this would be invisible to me where as not a day goes by with out me thinking "shall i i change the look today?"
I don’t have a problem with this. There are all type of collectors with all types of desires on what sizes fit their collection as well as different incomes. More the merry
Except they intentionally did the first wave in a scale nobody wanted and didn’t listen to fans who said not to make that scale. Then immediately turned around and did the rescale when they had sold the 1:5. It’s bullshit
I slow rolled the 1/5 Vader Mythos at the time since I was trying to wait out a discount opportunity on it that never came. Seeing it'll be available in 1/4 scale size is interesting esp. since they may make it have light up features as well. I don't think the full edition size on the 1/5 scale one was made since I doubt they would house 4500 statue boxes at one time in the warehouse. Most likely 1500 were made initially and they'll do another batch of 1500. I have the Maul Mythos as well so it now begs the question which size to go with on the Vader Mythos.
I personally passed on the HT figure even though it looked great since I planned on getting my hands on a Vader Mythos statue (regardless of size) one way or another. One representation is plenty enough esp. at the bigger scale.

I feel like all companies are doing things like this. It makes me hesitant to purchase things, if I wait a few months and the newer version or variant comes out. Prime one just did something similar with Hush statues releasing quarter scale statues of popular third scale statues. But at least prime one changed them, tho very slightly

Mythos is a 1/5 line. As long as future releases are offered in 1/5 scale I’m fine with it. Although with a roster as deep as SW to get the same character in the Mythos line over and over while not having a Ahsoka, Luke, Leia or chewie is just ridiculously disappointing
Well, that's the point. With any new star wars PF released, the chances to see a new 1:5 scale Mythos piece gets thinner and thinner, probably the 1:5 scale line has been discontinued already.
Reissuing it in a larger scale is annoying as hell to those of us who bought this statue already. I had to convince myself to get the 1:5 scale pieces because I loved the Mythos line. All my other statues are 1:4 or bigger. So why didn’t they do these in 1:4 scale to begin with? Or instead of a reissue, drop a new Vader in 1:4 scale? It’s like they’re deliberately crapping on the product they just sold us. With vendors like this, maybe it’s time to keep my money in my pocket.

Does the PF have interchangeable pieces? If not I think the 1/5 will keep its exclusive. Either way keeping mine.
They should have done what they did with the Obi Wan Mythos PF, use the same concept design from the 1/5 but at least use a different pose and add/ remove some elements. I just hope the K bros are properly compensated.
I have the Darth Vader Mythos exclusive statue and I love it. I also pre-order the 1/6 scale battle damage Vader to pair with the Mythos statue. I think they will go well together. The thing that pissed me off was I just received the Obi Wan Kenobi damaged Vader, had it for a month and they released another damaged Vader that is better than the one I just purchased!
No problem with the upscale. Only thing I would have a problem with is if they add on things we don't have. Like a lightup feature would piss me off. A straight upscale is no problem, I like 1/5 scale
As not having room yet for statues, I think I will stick to my battle damage Vader figure pre-order. But if I had the room for statues I would go for the premium format figure over the 1/5th scale just cause as you said bigger piece which has a bigger presence.
Depending on the Price this 1/4 scale is a must for me. I already have the Hot Toys on my waitlist, need that exclusive head sculpt.
I love my 1/5 Vader. 1/4 would take up too much space in my shelf.
I think that the 1/6 scale figure for some reason looks much better, itnmust be probably because I fell in love with it since day one, but besides that, I think that the helmet and the head sculpt in general is way superior in 1/6 SCale figure compared to 1/4.
Just sold the Mythos Vader for a nice profit a few months ago, then they announced the hot toys battle damaged and this. Whew 😅 perfect timing
Companies will always reproduce things make them bigger with more features I am happy with my 1/5 scale it’s in my office I see it everyday and I love it

I own the 1/5 mythos along with Assaj and Maul and they look awesome together. I really want the Obi Wan Mythos but I’m not sure about mixing scales. It’s upsetting to see sideshow release in 1/4 and it’s a slap in the face to the current owners of the 1/5 who prefer 1/4. But hey Prime 1 did the same with their Hush Supes and Bats
I have the 1/5 scale and I don't mind it coming out in 1/4 scale, but what would piss me off would be if the 1/4 scale has light up features.

The capes between the mythos and pf are different to the HT version. The HT cape is shaped like vaders helmet
The reason this is different from the Hush Superman re-issue is that 1:3 scale is a thing people want. There is demand for it and it’s a normal scale for statues.There is NO demand for 1:5 scale but they did it anyway despite fan protest. Then once they sold as many as they could, IMMEDIATELY swapped to 1:4 scale. Thats not at all what Prime 1 has done in the past. This is a blatant and shady cash grab by sideshow.
I own it , great statue. Personally the size works for my setup and I don’t mind the new 1/4 scale. Not sure if it comes with the battle damaged helmet, if that stays with the 1/5 scale to make it unique it would be less of a jab from SS.
To be honest I wasn’t too bothered until I saw it had light up features and I was like damn!! Might have to part with my fifth scale to get this one, I don’t blame SS though as they’re a business there to make money and I’m a sucker for light up features. Great content as always!!

Bro the sideshow hate is getting out of hand. Don’t like them? Don’t buy from them. It’s simple.
I generally prefer 1/4th so to see this now be offered as that is kinda annoying. Don't think I'll upgrade tho. Three reasons, size, this one is already huge and takes up a ton of space and is hard to display with the cape and saber pose. Light up will eventually fail as all do, and finally I would have to lose money selling what I have to upgrade and not really worth it at that point to me.
it is just pure money grab and giving the middle finger to who bought it ! bigger is better but maybe not with this one, its already takes a huge shelf space because of the cape and putting it side by side with other 1/4 i have ,you can't tell this one is 1/5th. Vader is 7ft , at 1/5th it matches with your 1/4th statues /figures perfectly with the new 1/4th it will not. also the 1/4 will be more expensive probably pushing $900 or more.
How, you bought the product because you liked it did you not. You didn’t buy this one, you bought the last one, this statue doesn’t effect you at all so stop bitching about making a statue a bigger size because if you really wanted a bigger Darth Vader statue you would have bought one instead. It’s called simple economics sideshow thinks this will sell so their making it.
