Afegbua has to defend someone, always. It used to be a Babangida, now it is a Tinubu. So, I don't pay heed to people like him. It is wrong for Tinubu to have implicitly ordered for a reprisal attack. He didn't order direct attack on the said community, but he didn't try to prevent it before it happened. The killing of the patriotic soldiers must be condemned, in strongest terms, but so is the erasing of a whole community.

I think it’s another suicide mission to let the police we all know are incapable to handle this. Boko haram fighters are not military but armed civilians like these, you don’t disagree with the president’s many orders to go after them including the recents in Kaduna, Borno etc. The caution for the army is to avoid collateral damage.

People are asking why army was sent and not police. If they were living during ODI time where 12 police OFFICERS were sent to Odi and the twelve of them modered. If that had once happened, would you expected another Government of the same country still send policemen on such Peace Mission?
People were blaming Obasanjo. I think he should be praised for his method. When it freshly happened, Obasanjo did not say, get the criminals for me. He waited for a long time for the criminals to think Government had forgotten about the incident. It was then he told his soldiers to get the CRIMINALS for him dead of alive. He did not say go and destroy Odi.
But even with his method, this criminals still got a wave of it and they all ran away leaving their own people to the problems.
I did not read the judgement on the issue, and know who and who were indicted. Obásanjó shouldn't have been blame. For I want to ask, if Government was made to pay compensation to the Village, what happened to the criminals? I see the judgement to be one sided. 99b naira was paid to Odi, were all the criminals fished out and KILLED?
Oh, what if these soldiers happens to be our relations? This is my question!

Nigerian security agents, especially the Nigerian Army shouldn’t be sent to any community for any peace mission. Secondly, it’s also very wrong to be sending Hausa or Fulani led soldiers or police to head any missions to South East or South South! That’s not a peace mission but an invasion of the community.
Even in the western world, law enforcement agencies try to use officers that can relate easily with a people when peace is intended! Nigeria is not one! We are ethnically diverse as there’s no such thing as Nigeria! At least not yet. If the army has a mission in south east, they should send majority Igbo officers led by an Igbo commander. Same as south south and the rest. Sending a Northern soldier to the former Biafran region is rather provocative than peaceful. Know this today and know peace!

I don't really believe it is true that military intervention is required in certain cases involving civil matters. Civil matters can be handled by the Police and DSS alone even if it means going back to the drawing board, go back and get more intel or get more equipped and backed up and work objectively and intelligently with the community leaders. We should stop involving the Military in purely civil matters as there is always the tendency it degenerates or escalates to even more violence. They are not trained for civil negotiations , dialogue etc they are trained to fight.

No blood is less or more important
Please let us know what happened that the soldiers went for a peace talk.
A land that has been peaceful before now
    There is something fishing.
The killings of the soldiers need to be investigated by the police by the provision of the law and the Governor of the state should give us reports on a day to day.
    This matter weak me shall😢

I don't know why Africa doesn't change, we've been talking thesame way all these years, and nothing has changed and yet we're not changing system, the truth is not government, the truth is: we're forced together to be one,and it's glaring that we are not one,all these grammar will not solve any problem, it's easy to stay in the studio to criticize government, but if Falana himself is in power thesame thing will happened, if police was there they would have killed more police than the way they killed soldiers

Mr Falana we disagree with you on this matter, even if police got the killers of our dear soldiers should got apprehended and arraigned will there not be some corrupt lawyers coming to defend them which in similar & such cases wil end in a way that those culprits will end up serving a limited period of jail terms & set free in the end.🥺😢

If a community where this happened don’t support the act, their leaders should have gathered them, fish out the criminals and immediately hand them over to the authorities without prompting. Anything short of that is aiding and abetting for which Nigeria will declare a war against that section of the people. If the people have respect for the Nigerian people, they should have stood up to protect the soldiers from harm in the community. They should have some of their people sacrificed their lives to protect the soldiers in their community. A case study is how Adekunle Fajuyi paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect the Yoruba people when the Head of State was to be killed in our land.

So what are the soldiers still doing ìn the north all these years'? The Northern elders forum should have handled the Boko-haram members to the Nigerian Army?

Are you even sensible? Why are the Northern Elders not fishing out the bandits and kidnappers in the North?

    • @raufuoseni2159
      @raufuoseni2159 Місяць тому

Your narrative is a false equivalency. The Bandits don’t live in any community, don’t fight for any community and are not being protected by any community. They live in the bushes/ forests and attack the communities. That is why there are no community leaders are responsible for them.

What really prompted these non actors to attack these soldiers? Did the soldiers crossed red lines against these crim*nals as they may think? These guests and journalists are avoiding more informations on what really happened. These non actors should be fished out.

It’s unfortunate that Nigeria is lost. NO CHAIN OF COMMAND IN ALL FACETS OR BREECHES OF COMMAND IN THE COUNTRY. All over the world, military forces are last option. Where are police reports, MOPOL reports, community’s reports before involving the military. Where in a sane country that they have been without bloodshed? In Nigeria the military is the first line responders and last line offenders. Every life line in Nigeria is military forces by land, sea, air ,AI and Herders. How can we know the uncompromising truth in situations like this. What were the military doing there and who sent them, other than the enemies of the opposing side(s). Did you know or find the perpetrators? Never. Therefore collateral damage as a result. Operation No Mercy, after all who will intervene other than what we present and the so-called press gagged.

Falana, you are wrong. Killing a soldier is not equal to killing a person. They attacked our symbol. You don’t treat the killing of a person as you treat the killing of a soldier.
The First World War was cause by the killing of a diplomat not just an individual. There are differences in murders, every persons are not necessarily the same when they symbolize something.

The truth is, in the absence of big grammar, the police has lost its respect by the people, that's why you can't send the police. Funny thing is, it all falls back as the fault of the government. If you want the police to gain its respect back, there has to be a reform or restructuring of some sort in the police.

Where are the political figures in the state?
