I'm psyching myself up to replace my keyboard because a few different keys no longer function. This looks like an absolute beast and I'm pretty scared of putting it back together wrong haha. But thank you for the walkthrough! (Typed from my external keyboard haha)
The disassembly was slow enough, but reassembly skipped through some bits too fast for those of us who are new at this. I eventually managed it, but it took a bit. Thanks though, I couldn't have done it without this.
I seem like im always HP bashing but they deserve it after making a laptop like this, talk about over complicating things Great Video Tim keep up the good work.
Thanks for the tutorial! This thing was a beast to open. accidentally broke the power button ribbon connector on the motherboard, had to tape the power cable ribbon in :( Luckily it still works, although the power led for the power button doesn't. Ah well, that's what happens when you repair things yourself.
Hey, can you do a video for screen replacement or for removing the screen to clean it? My screen is all dirty inside and I have no idea how to get this thing off this computer. Thanks.
I know this is old but is this replacement relatively the same concept for an HP envy 17t-s100? I spilled some syrup on it (lol), and all of the keys work. Can I just take out the keyboard and wipe it down with like Lysol wipes do you think?
It looks like the procedure would be the same for a keyboard replacement for that model. if you are going to go through all of the trouble to remove ther keyboard you ight as well replace with a new one. Wiping the keyboard down would not help if you spilled something sticky on the keyboard. Good Luck!

Thanks Migsy. They seem to be following Apple's lead.
Why would in this world , do we have to suffer so much to change a keyboard. Is HP serious? Great video and very helpful, God bless you!
It's painful!!!
where can i place an order for the keyboard replacement
The break down video is great.
Note: the keyboard in the description link does not come with the backlight cable.
Good job Timster
