I wonder how many people know the ending before they watch it for the first time. I saw it on TV for the first time in the late 70s and the ending was such a revelation at the time.
I watched the documentary from 1998 on BBC4 recently, very interesting to see Lee, Ingrid Pitt, the director Robin Hardy and even some of the locals who had bit parts in the film and seeing Edward Woodward going back to the original locations was the icing on the cake. I'm with you Davey, this is easily in my top five British horror films.
That's my favorite Christopher Lee movie. He is so fucking cool in this. He even has a cool singing voice and looks cool dressed up like a woman. Haha. Dude was a rock star.
What no Nic Cage remake in your top 3 😂😂😂😂 Excellent review buddy im enjoying your thoughts on this film. This is a outstanding masterpiece of a movie.
Excellent review as always. More Christopher Lee impressions please!

Thanks Andrew - there's stories that to this day, the pub still shows all the relics left by the cast and crew!
Cheers!

Fantastic!
Have you read the book the film is based on, Ritual by David Pinner? Always been tempted myself, but never got round to buying a copy.
Had no idea it was based on a book, thanks for the tip.
Not the bees! Love the Wicker Man😂
One of my favorite movies - and soundtracks. I have the Wooden box version which is nice.
