Awesome video man! Do you launch kayak in main boat ramp?
Not at Trinidad. I usually park next to the water somewhere on the south side of the lake and launch from shore
@@bigfishbucketlist thanks for the feedback. Have you ever camped out there?
@@alanreyes29 nope never done that
Is there largies in the lake?
Yes there are! There's a decent population of them in there and I will occasionally catch one while targeting the smallies
Just out of curiosity when you have a tournament like that. Do you stay the night in Trinidad or drive up the day of?
More often than not, I'll stay there the night before, but I have driven down the morning of a few times
@@bigfishbucketlist How do you keep your kayak safe on long trips like that? Or if you stay in a hotel. After having the kayak stolen that is something i'm taking very seriously this time around
@stevenc3946 I've stayed in remote airbnbs where I wasn't concerned about that. When I've stayed in hotels, I've moved my gear into my room and locked my kayak to the truck by running a bike lock through my scupper hole. If someone really wanted to steal it they could but it'd be a total pain.
@@bigfishbucketlist Thanks for the advice.
Do you like this place for fish or horse tooth more ?
I like Trinidad a lot more. It's much less pressured and has a much bigger population of big smallmouth. The downside for me is I live close to Horsetooth so Trinidad is quite the drive for me!
Did I talk to you that Saturday I was in a white red black skeeter?
No I didn't talk to any boaters that day
I fished Trinidad for the first time earlier this summer…I was really impressed with the fishery…especially the small mouths. Thanks for sharing.
@@gregroden8523 it's a cool place for sure! Wish it wasn't so far away but maybe that helps it to be the fishery that it is
