  • Yankee Hill is the very first offroad trail for many people. It's a go-to spot just outside of Denver, Colorado, for beginners looking to learn or anyone who just wants to get away for the day.
    The route takes you directly into the Yankee Hill Network, where you could spend a day or two exploring many different trails and route combinations, giving you plenty of offroad miles to enjoy. With two different destinations at each end, one being the popular St. Mary's Glacier and Central City/Blackhawk, you can fit in other activities besides offroading.
    Vehicles in the video:
    White Jeep JL with Ursa Minor is 35" tires with a 2.5" lift.
    White Jeep JL 3.0 eco diesel is on 35" tires with a 2" Mopar lift
    White Toyota Tacoma is on 32" tires and stock

    I work here in the CCRD on the OHV crew and I really appreciate your informative video and proper use! I spent a large amount of my season patrolling and working here this year installing brand new FS road signs to help visitors know the routes they are on, compliance, and trail work!! We just installed a Brand new Kiosk at the TH too so please please check it out! Some great literature and QR codes on there for mapping and rescue!!! And always, STAY THE TRAIL/LEAVE NO TRACE!

      It's our pleasure! We started our company over there in St. Mary's Glacier area, so we want to see it treated well! Don't hesitate to contact us anytime for any help or assistance in clean-ups, messaging etc. Most importantly - Thanks for what you do!

    OHHH was just here yesterday! 8/11/2024 and the trail is much different then the video. For the most part rocky with loose traction but 2 spots that make you think twice. Be aware of your line - we had a close call! Stock PRO versions can make it but a few upgrades make it worth your while. We went the same direction as the video and everyone recommends the other direction.

      That trail gets so much use and abuse, those obstacles get much rougher every year. Leave a trail review if you already haven't on our website/apps, we would love to see the adventure. Thanks for watching!

      Best thing to do is go to our website. The link is in the description above. There you will find all the details to figure out if you and your jeep are ready for this trail. If you still have questions, you can ask the crew that did this trail recently what they think at the bottom of the website.

    Ordered my first Jeep, expecting it by February! '22 JLUR. The white Jeeps have 35s, did you put a lift on there too, what lift? Doesn't look too crazy. I was thinking of 35s and a 2" lift. I've heard a lot of people say stay away from Mopar because it's not complete. It will be my daily driver so 35s with a 2" lift will be plenty for what I want to do.

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  2 роки тому

      The white Jeep with the stock wheels has the 2" mopar lift with 35's and Todd has been very happy with it! My Jeep is the white Jeep with black wheels and white top running 35's and a 2.5" Clayton Offroad Overland Plus kit and it has been an incredible lift kit, especially if you run more weight. These rigs are super capable with 35's and lots of people run 37's as well with factory gearing and axles so your options for a capable rig are endless! Thanks for watching and enjoy the new rig! The new JL's are awesome!

    Really enjoyed the video! Beautiful country. I understand before airing down to 17, the Tacoma tire pressure was 32 psi. What wheel and tire size was installed on that truck?

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  3 роки тому

      Hey Jim, there is a lot of factors when it comes to airing down. Weight/tire size/rim size/type of offroading are the 4 major factors.

    Hi, do I need AT tires for this? can a LX do it with just street tires?

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  Рік тому

      AT tires are highly recommended. The rocks out there are sharp. However, plenty of people do this road in street tires, but your chance for a sliced tire and loss of traction go up!!! Definitely don’t attempt it in snow or ice with street tires. If you’re looking for roads/trails better for street tires, look for the easy rated trails which you can find on our website or apps, this trail is considered moderate.

    How do you know when to air down the tires and to what psi?

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  2 роки тому

      Hi Bryan, it's always a good idea to air your tires down for a couple of reasons: 1) it cushions the ride out. 2) your tires will be less prone to puncture on sharp rocks, and 3), more grip! What to air down to is entirely dependent on your tire/wheel size combination.

    I have your app and you list stock SUV can make this. I have a stocked subie forester w/A/T tires and can air down. Outside of recommending me to your website. Already a member do you think this is doable? Yankeehill area (not the hill) to central city?

    • @Trailsoffroad
      @Trailsoffroad  2 роки тому +2

      Overall it wouldn't be a wise idea. Especially now that there the trail is torn up a bit more then normal.
