Paddle around Neist Point and west coast about 10 years ago with Gordon Brown. Calmest ocean paddling I have ever had. We were lucky. A beautiful place.

We went to the Isle of Skye on our honeymoon back in 2014 that place is majestic to say the least.

Funny how scenes and memories change in the sixties we had an old uncle who lived on Raasay and all I remember about Sky when my mum asked about it I said well it reminded me of a very wet quarry.

I'm pretty sure I know the guide you're talking about in Plockton and I agree with you that she is not a 'typical' sea kayaker (i.e. unfriendly). I'm not sure how she got her guide's ticket!? I enjoyed your video mate... I'm off up to Skye next week again, so your vid's got me right in the mood!

Fantastic adventure, great video!!! You did a good job!!!
Gretings from south Spain. I see the dolphins from time to time too, and is a very exciting moment, as you know.
When you came to Spain, visit me, and I show you our coast....

Thank you. I'll definitely take you up on that offer if I'm in Spain. Dolphins have become a fairly common sight in Northumberland but usually the much larger Bottlenose Dolphins. It was a nice change to see some Common Dolphins. 👍

Looks amazing, I had been on Mull for a week then and the wind was dreadful! Still managed a few trips. Skye on my list for 2023.....!

I went to Skye as a young lad, seem to remember the Highland Games were on - really impressive - tossing the caber, tug of war. Would love to go back now that I’m at the other end of my time here. Stunning. What more can I say.

Great video and a nice trip. Not sure which direction your wind came from over Loch Carron but I've been out to the west of Plockton and got caught by a fierce north easterly. It was quite an effort to get back in - can't imagine how those beginners felt (or what their leader thought she was doing). Lovely area for paddling.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. The wind was pretty much from the south that day, hence why we were trying to find protection from it keeping among the rocks west of Plockton. We managed to stay out of the worst of it all day but that last paddle back south towards Plockton was when the wind really kicked in and it was pretty strong.

Love the overall vibe. Love the sit down presentation and footage. Too bad about what I assume is a BCU coach going off on a friendly paddler to cover her own insecurities with respect to an outing perhaps not well thought out. She’s probably too myopic to be self aware. Regardless, looks like a magical area to paddle.

Curious if you know the name of the tour company you came across on the water. I'd like to avoid them when i'm there next year.

I'm in Canada, Zegul's are becoming a popular and available brand here. I have a Zegul Arrow Nuka GT. Yours is the first Zegul branded paddle I've seen, do you know if they will be selling carbon fiber Greenland paddles as well?

Hi, I’ve not paddled a Zegul myself, that is Kirstie’s the other leader on this trip. She absolutely loves the boat and the paddle though, speaks very highly of the company. They aren’t a make that you see very often in the UK, I’d like to give them a try sometime but the danger of trying other boats / paddles is that it could lead to a big dent in the bank account 😂

@@mountainsofthemind9294 Yeah, I have that problem too, the Zegul is my third and hopefully last kayak, but I tried a SUP last year, now I have two inflatables and am about to order a composite board comparable in price to my Zegul. The kayaks I can't afford to try would be a NDK Latitude or Explorer. But they aren't very accessible here in Southern Ontario anyway. Cheers, happy paddling.
