So slight spoiler alert for 31.39 dialogue but it's not Henry it's definitely ice cream man, later in the series (if mat keeps reacting) you'll see it from a different point of view and find out then that it's him

Here is what I think the characters are matching with Martin (the father)= the clown (toy maker) Son?= Henry the puppet Daughter(Macy?)= Sofia the singing marionette Wife = smiling figure Arthur= ice cream man Dog= banzo There are also faces in the tape prior to “what did you do!” Which match up to the characters! If you think the Emergency Broadcast tone is awful, you've never been woken up at 3AM by the NWS tornado warning phone alert sound. That scared the crap out of me when it happened back in March with a storm passing by my house in central Indiana.
Theory: The puppet/thing in front of the wallpaper is the thing you're learning baout in the video. The background talking/noise is how the soul that inhabits that puppet/thing died. So Henry is in the icecream and we heard his death while looking at said icecream. Mark is the abusive dad and we heard his death while looking at the clown.
Ok ok hear me out… With Ollie and him trying to learn that now everything he does gets him something try this; Every time he does something good/polite give him a a coin ( or just a mental coin), then anything that he wants say that he has to “buy it” with his coins, this was he can learn how to save/spend for the things that he wants. But try not to put the “price” of the toys to high or it will discourage him to think that even if he does a lot of good things he doesn’t get anything. - advice from a kid who grow up with this method!

The older one likes being able to visibly see her money grow, the younger one loves to pick out her stickers. So both children can learn about long and short term investments

I'm really relieved this one wasn't as heavily edited as the last one. I am almost through the witty banter so I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but I just love the raw feeling of it. Editing is fun and has it's place, but there's something special about these videos that feels more like I'm connected to them and I like it.

The laughing when Macy's dad started shouting before his presumable conversion into an animatronic definitely suggests to me that there was atleast one other person there that helped put Macy in Sofia. That person probably in my opinion was the icecream man and they betrayed Macy's father.

In grade 7, I handed in a 75 page horror story (with illustrations) for my French language arts class. Everyone else wrote around 15 pages. So, yeah. I feel MatPat's pain with the accidental overachieving. I was supposed to tell a story, and I felt like I needed those pages to tell that story. LOL
Also I have something to add only this wasn’t in AP this was normal literature/reading in High School, y’know, and we had a project that made it to where we had to make a short story and I made a book that was like 84+ pages…it happens to the best of us. The more similar stories i can give is a teacher making an assignment about writing a small chapter of a book we were reading, and having to introduce a character that fit into the narrative (that one was fun tbh) and then me randomly doing a 1000 or less essay about the history of swearing for my math teacher (he said he made his students write small essays when they swear in class, so i did one in advance lol)

I bet it was a lovely story and you don’t need to worry about how much you write down as long as you enjoyed writing it and you did your best. Besides length isn’t everything and it was kinda hard writing my story because I wanted to make it good, of which luckily it turned out pretty well or at least I think it did according to what my teacher said about her loving it, but if I wrote 100 pages of essentially reusing the same sentences or the plot was too confusing/boring and there’s no good story then the book wouldn’t be very good. Sorry if I made you feel insecure about yourself or your writing I just wanted to add in but you don’t need to worry about it my guy/gal. The only time I think that made sense was is in outer space horror stories where you have a alien to worry about but no idea what it is.

I think my favorite english/literature reading was this short story we had to read in class "The Yellow Wallpaper". I don't know why i enjoyed this story so much but it's my favorite
I’m like Ash, the tv emergency testing or just general testing with the screen going blue or different colors has given me nightmares, I have gotten a little desensitized to them after watching a lot of MatPat’s content, but still kinda sends me over a little
I believe there are actually 2 ice cream men. There's one thing that leads me to this conclusion; THE EYES. The first ice cream man had bright green eyes that look more silly, while the other one had more serious and creepy - looking eyes. I think that the green-eyed one is Arthur, and the other one is the father, Martin.

Adding to the school reading chat, the best book I ever read for summer reading has to be “The book thief” that i had to read between my 8th and 9th years. I left it until basically the last moment, I thought any book for school had to be boring, but I knew I had to finish it. So it was the night before the last day of summer. Open stage to me hiding in the closet at 9 pm. My sister always hated having too much light when she tried to sleep, and since we shared a room, this was my only option. I had previously read about 45 of the first pages earlier that summer, and was not looking forward to what I thought was bound to come. I had my sticky notes, pens, highlighters, all at the ready. For the first hour it was slow yes, but mainly just because I had no hope for it. But after that, Oh My jejwbrjejdjqjdjwjdjfngkwkqnf I was suddenly so inthralled in the pages, all 584 pages. Time has never flown so fast. The next thing I knew it, it was 4 am, and I was sobbing my eyes out in the closet. That book ripped my heart out, played with it like it was a game of football, and then rammed it into my chest again. So yeah that’s the best summer reading book I’ve ever had.
Whenever I hear the word Henry now, I think of Henry Creel from Stranger Things Season 4. The puppet and the boy literally look alike and they're both evil in a sense. Except Vecna is the one puppeteering, not the one being puppeteered.
I normally can watch these videos at night and be fine but this one really made me have to click away and watch some funny videos before bed, and even then I was a little nervous about how dark it was outside
I had summer reading requirements at my lower and middle school, and there were two books that I read that I loved. One was “We Were Liars”, which is an amazing mystery book that I have since read in my free time because it’s just that good, and another was a book called “Popular” by Maya Van Wagenen about a girl who decided to follow advice from a vintage “popularity guide”, and she learns a lot along the way. In the book “Popular”, one of the things the main character does is sit at random different lunch tables each day, regardless of the social norms of her high school, and becomes somewhat of a separate social circle in and of herself because of her confidence (or more specifically, her fake it til you make it attitude). It was a big inspiration to me growing up to keep making new friends and pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and it’s a book I probably never would’ve read if not for it being assigned to me. That being said, we only ever had to read one book each summer and we got to pick which one from a pretty long list. I think anything more than that is just infringing on the students’ summer vacation, and honestly they could’ve assigned that for English class during the school year. I never really understood the concept of summer assignments.

I remember How to Read Literature like a Professor, namely because my grandma got me like the 2007 version for me when we needed the 2016 edition. So I ordered the 2016 one through amazon. Then amazon sent me the 2007 version, and after asking for a refund they sent the 2016 version. So I had three copies of the same book but only one was the "right" copy. I think I gave one to the teacher and still have the other two.

3:30 going into my high school, I was already a grade ahead in math. we had summer homework of an online math course. Similarly to matpat, they didn't give me a bar to meet, so I decided to just grind out an hour a day in the morning after waking up, listening to music while I do it. Come August, I did the entirety of Geometry over the summer, and boosted up to Algebra 2 honors.
How to read literature like a professor, sucked. You could have just written "look for whatever symbolism anywhere" and you've pretty much assumed summed up that book.
I agree. It was basically "everything = bible" a lot of stuff is, but christianity isnt the only religion. I dont think a lot of it could apply to certain genres or time periods
OMG! Even in Portugal I read "Things Fall Apart" for World English Literature class in college. It is a good book and the explanation they give about mosquitoes always buzzing in your ears has stayed in my memory to this day! But my favourite book from that class was actually "Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence" by Doris Pilkington. It was such a good book to show you the perspective of the first Australian peoples when they were colonised by the British, I totally recommend it!
Ash is so right though. I LOVED How to Read Literature Like a Professor and it permanently altered my reading and writing skills. I still go back to some of the lessons in that book; I improved so much after reading it.

Theory: The puppet/thing in front of the wallpaper is the thing you're learning baout in the video. The background talking/noise is how the soul that inhabits that puppet/thing died. So Henry is in the icecream and we heard his death while looking at said icecream. Mark is the abusive dad and we heard his death while looking at the clown.

Ok ok hear me out… With Ollie and him trying to learn that now everything he does gets him something try this; Every time he does something good/polite give him a a coin ( or just a mental coin), then anything that he wants say that he has to “buy it” with his coins, this was he can learn how to save/spend for the things that he wants. But try not to put the “price” of the toys to high or it will discourage him to think that even if he does a lot of good things he doesn’t get anything.

@@loisrabies8713 we have a sticker chart, bad behavior loses you stickers, good behavior earns you stickers. Then when we go out to do things the kids can cash out the stickers for money. The older one likes being able to visibly see her money grow, the younger one loves to pick out her stickers. So both children can learn about long and short term investments

The "SP" in SP, LP, and SLP stands for "Standard Play" not "Slow Play," because it was the default setting. Long Play and Super Long Play turned those 2 hour tapes into 4 and 6 hours.

I'm really relieved this one wasn't as heavily edited as the last one. I am almost through the witty banter so I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but I just love the raw feeling of it. Editing is fun and has it's place, but there's something special about these videos that feels more like I'm connected to them and I like it.

The more similar stories i can give is a teacher making an assignment about writing a small chapter of a book we were reading, and having to introduce a character that fit into the narrative (that one was fun tbh) and then me randomly doing a 1000 or less essay about the history of swearing for my math teacher (he said he made his students write small essays when they swear in class, so i did one in advance lol)

I bet it was a lovely story and you don’t need to worry about how much you write down as long as you enjoyed writing it and you did your best. Besides length isn’t everything and it was kinda hard writing my story because I wanted to make it good, of which luckily it turned out pretty well or at least I think it did according to what my teacher said about her loving it, but if I wrote 100 pages of essentially reusing the same sentences or the plot was too confusing/boring and there’s no good story then the book wouldn’t be very good. Sorry if I made you feel insecure about yourself or your writing I just wanted to add in but you don’t need to worry about it my guy/gal. I believe there are actually 2 ice cream men. There's one thing that leads me to this conclusion; THE EYES.
The first ice cream man had bright green eyes that look more silly, while the other one had more serious and creepy - looking eyes.
I think that the green-eyed one is Arthur, and the other one is the father, Martin.
I feel like it's a Circus Baby situation, where the eyes changed when "The Ice Cream Man" became possessed by Arthur.

Adding to the school reading chat, the best book I ever read for summer reading has to be “The book thief” that i had to read between my 8th and 9th years. I left it until basically the last moment, I thought any book for school had to be boring, but I knew I had to finish it. So it was the night before the last day of summer.
Open stage to me hiding in the closet at 9 pm. My sister always hated having too much light when she tried to sleep, and since we shared a room, this was my only option. I had previously read about 45 of the first pages earlier that summer, and was not looking forward to what I thought was bound to come. I had my sticky notes, pens, highlighters, all at the ready.
For the first hour it was slow yes, but mainly just because I had no hope for it.

Whenever I hear the word Henry now, I think of Henry Creel from Stranger Things Season 4. The puppet and the boy literally look alike and they're both evil in a sense. Except Vecna is the one puppeteering, not the one being puppeteered.

I had summer reading requirements at my lower and middle school, and there were two books that I read that I loved. One was “We Were Liars”, which is an amazing mystery book that I have since read in my free time because it’s just that good, and another was a book called “Popular” by Maya Van Wagenen about a girl who decided to follow advice from a vintage “popularity guide”, and she learns a lot along the way. In the book “Popular”, one of the things the main character does is sit at random different lunch tables each day, regardless of the social norms of her high school, and becomes somewhat of a separate social circle in and of herself because of her confidence (or more specifically, her fake it til you make it attitude). It was a big inspiration to me growing up to keep making new friends and pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and it’s a book I probably never would’ve read if not for it being assigned to me. That being said, we only ever had to read one book each summer and we got to pick which one from a pretty long list. I think anything more than that is just infringing on the students’ summer vacation, and honestly they could’ve assigned that for English class during the school year. I never really understood the concept of summer assignments.

I remember How to Read Literature like a Professor, namely because my grandma got me like the 2007 version for me when we needed the 2016 edition. So I ordered the 2016 one through amazon. Then amazon sent me the 2007 version, and after asking for a refund they sent the 2016 version. So I had three copies of the same book but only one was the "right" copy. I think I gave one to the teacher and still have the other two.

3:30 going into my high school, I was already a grade ahead in math. we had summer homework of an online math course. Similarly to matpat, they didn't give me a bar to meet, so I decided to just grind out an hour a day in the morning after waking up, listening to music while I do it. Come August, I did the entirety of Geometry over the summer, and boosted up to Algebra 2 honors.
How to read literature like a professor, sucked. You could have just written "look for whatever symbolism anywhere" and you've pretty much assumed summed up that book.
I agree. It was basically "everything = bible" a lot of stuff is, but christianity isnt the only religion. I dont think a lot of it could apply to certain genres or time periods
OMG! Even in Portugal I read "Things Fall Apart" for World English Literature class in college. It is a good book and the explanation they give about mosquitoes always buzzing in your ears has stayed in my memory to this day! But my favourite book from that class was actually "Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence" by Doris Pilkington. It was such a good book to show you the perspective of the first Australian peoples when they were colonised by the British, I totally recommend it!

Ash is so right though. I LOVED How to Read Literature Like a Professor and it permanently altered my reading and writing skills. I still go back to some of the lessons in that book; I improved so much after reading it.
