- My Honda civic 2001 1.4.had too much noise after driving over pavement irregularities, I checked the bushing, and they were broken. I decided to replace the lower control arm, and I can feel way more better, In the next days I will be replacing the front Struts , thank you for watching please like and subscribe
gonna save me $500 doing these myself instead of paying the shop to do it. thanks
looks pretty straightforward. thanks.
Need a video like this but for a 5th gen Civic.
You made it look easy good job. I'm trying to do this myself. I was intimidated because i seen other videos from professional mechanics sawing off the control link bar, and maybe because they have the car lifted overhead. Good video. Do you know the proper torque specs for the control arm and link?
Tight as hell
Hello sorry mate i dont have the torq specs. normally in the old school, when you are in the rush you already know when you are tightening. I used torque specs more on camshaft, headgasket, timing belt. But if you want to be sure in the repair manual by Haynes or similar you can find all these torque specs, sorry mate
Also thank you for the comment, yes sometimes i see some mechanics on internet they have all the toys to make the job, it is not fair 😂😂😂
Anti-roll bar clamp bolts and drop link nuts (use new nuts and bolts) 39 Nm/29 lbf ft
Bottom balljoint nut: Stage 1-minimum setting 49 Nm/36 lbf ft, Stage 2-maximum setting 59 Nm/44 lbf ft
Driveshaft/hub nut (use new nuts) 181 Nm/134 lbf ft
Front subframe bolts (M10) 59 Nm/44 lbf ft, (M14) 103 Nm/76 lbf ft
Lower arm pivot and inner mounting bolts: 83 Nm/61 lbf ft
Strut piston rod nut (use new nuts) 44 Nm/32 lbf ft
Strut-to-hub pinch-bolt nut: 103 Nm/76 lbf ft
Strut upper mounting nuts 44 Nm/32 lbf ft
But I wanna know is do you need to line up the car after you do this job
Get a alignment
No, only need to get your wheels aligned for track rods
Good video
Glad you enjoyed
I think 01 -05 civic is the same right ?
There are some differences, this is the European version, but normally the the principle is the same
Thanks for the video, bud!
Hello everyone I hope you enjoy this video, I will be replacing the ball joints, I recommend loosening the ball joints with the proper tool as this link, they are obviously worn out as shown in the video, thank you, best regards

Nice
Can I use a pickle fork for removing the ball joints, I’m going to replace them as well when I do the front lower control arms
I wanted to do the same but I researched and The ball joints in this model must be extracted with hydraulic press, or there is a special tool for that, thank you for asking
Hey I was looking for a rear driver lower control arms with end links. Any idea where I can find that part? Thanks
Hey mate sorry for the late i think you are referring to the ball joint , you can buy that one separately, the problem. Is to install it you and remove it, you will need a proper press tool, or go to the workshop and pay for that job, you can find the part no pobrem in europe in autodoc or maybe autozone, eBay, etc, but the problem is to remove it with basic tools, this is why normally the people in this model bay the whole lower control arm, thank you for your comment, good luck matex you can use this home tool but still will be a little difficult , but if you have the time , you can try and patience you can try

How are you loosening all the nuts so easily…
Spray WD 40 on the threads and nuts before starting, let it act for a few minutes, that helps, use some wrench extensions
