Nice vid & commentary. To clarify the roads/networking point - currently, to get the grand bazaar you need to have unlocked roads tech first even if your cities are connected via sea trade routes i.e. ports. In this new update you simply need to connect two cities together with a road OR a port and the task will start even if you haven't researched roads tech 🙂
Ohhhh, thanks for that explanation! That makes perfect sense. I guess I almost almost always have roads before I connect 5 ports, so that rarely comes up for me. Heavy shift to sea-based gameplay, eh?
By the way I am pretty sure that Cymanti is pronounced sigh-man-T, I only point this out as it confused me and could confuse others. Also great video, we need more polytopia youtubers.
@@ItsJoshNorman i dunno, the only thing they have over other tribes in terms of navy is dragons, but also they nerfed lumber huts, which is elyrions main way of upgrading cities, so it’s gonna be much harder to get a good navy for elyrion regardless because of the economy management
@xander6153 elyrion doesn't rely on lumber huts, sanctuaries were waaay more efficient even before the update. If anything, the lumber hut nerf actually puts elyrion even further ahead of other tribes in terms of eco since their primary eco source wasn't nerfed while all other tribes were
@@seventeen777 actually i’d beg to differ, while sanctuary’s are a big part of elyrion’s econ, u go to any pro player, they will most of the time try to use both, if theres one animal, but 2 trees, its best to convert for military might, and then put lumber huts down, and if ur good on military and u need econ and theres 2 or more animals, a sanctuary is good. Both are good for different conditions, and saying it isn’t a nerf to take away one of elyrions key resources for economy is bogus, especially considering sanctuaries and lumber huts are both in forestry

This might convince me to come back and give polytopia a go again

Haha thanks for the pronunciation tip. Thanks, I appreciate the support!
This update looks amazing, if theres one thing I dont like its that they removed navalons, though.
I really liked the Navalons as unique units too. However, Elyrion with all the new ships + dragons + navalons would probably make them overpowered
Yeah. The update notes said, “We gave every special tribe a special upgrade. Except Elyrion. Actually we only removed features from Elyrion.”
