His acting skills are paramount. He was incredible in Sling Blade. He is the same person, still hunts/fishes and has that southern accent. His youtube channel is awesome.
We Southerners ARE nice people and I'm SO proud of Lucas. My son told me about his youtube channel, so I've subscribed to it. He is a wonderful, kind family man and above all he is a Christian. I love you Lucas!
Never gave up his accent. That’s what’s awesome about him. I’m the same way, mine is extreme like his, been made fun of quite a few times in my life about it but it’s never bothered me!
Loved him in Slingblade and Crazy in Alabama. Being from Alabama, the accent rings a bell :) I get a kick out out the comments about him being from Bama and it actually being true. He is a doll on NCIS NO. Love a true Southern gentleman, and from all accounts, he is. Stay true to your roots. Ya'll.
Lucas Black is a genius. When he was a kid he was the most natural little actor out there. In The Glory Days of Hollywood a kid like Lucas would be as big as a Mickey Rooney or a Jackie Cooper. And as Lucas grew up he was still a natural. He never gave up his precious Southern accent in spite of being advised too. God bless him and his future planes on whatever he chooses to do career wise,
I love him. He is the only person on tv or in movies that I see and makes me think of where I grew up. Hollywood has so few southern actors and it is so refreshing to hear an authentic accent instead of some colonial bullshit or unintelligible mountain man accent
I never watched her show, but O'Donnell was a very good interviewer--at least in this instance. Now Slingblade...there was an underrated flick. Lucas wins Best Leading Young Actor in a Feature Film
About twenty years ago, I took my little nephew to an audition in Charlotte, NC but I couldn't get him to talk. The kid completely froze up on me! He was the cutest little curly-headed boy there and everyone was like, _"Aww, he's so adorable!"_ But, I couldn't even get him to say his name!
they keep their accents but tone it down unfortunately, it's a real shame, but in hollywood they just won't let a person with a noticeable southern accent really do any other accents, I mean mcconaughey will never play a NY mob boss no matter how good he fakes the accent or be a superhero with his real accent, maybe never say never but I mean..it's very prejudice, but they'll cast a brit to play a southerner of course...which drives me insane, but yeah there's nothing better than a real accent, they all sound a little different and we can notice when it's faked and it really weakens the character when it's faked, when it's real it pops, it's sad when people lose their accents
@@wheelmanstan That's because Hollywood is run by a bunch of ultra-liberals, who hate the South and who tend to be Anglophiles/Europhiles. But the cumulative populations of Canada, Australia, England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland don't even equal HALF of the U.S. population, so it's ridiculous to look for talent there (especially to play American characters/icons) since the U.S. also has some of the best drama schools in the world. Alas, Hollywood developed an anti-America bias within the past decade, as the industry shifted toward the far-left, politically. In general, liberals care more about foreigners and illegal immigrants than their fellow Americans; conservatives are generally patriotic and believe in America/Americans first. As the country rejects woke politics/culture and shifts toward conservatism this decade, it will be interesting to see how that will affect the entertainment industry.
I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE THAT PERSON DOING THE INTERVIEW. I still wonder why he/she didn’t move out of the country as promised. But I’m such a fan of Lucas Black and Slingblade, I still had to check it out. He was and is a fantastic actor and good ol southern boy. Embarrassed to say I’ve never seen Crazy in Alabama but I will be watching it soon.
omg he's so adorable and innocent, mainly down to his southern roots. Too bad Hollywood decriminates against them and the accent. Hollywood is mainly new York and L.A. ACTORS
His accent is pure Lawrence County, Alabama. He hails from a little wide place in the road called Speake and graduated from Speake High School, which is now closed. I live about 20 miles from Speake, in the next county to the east. I don't sound like Lucas, but his accent is very much rural Lawrence County. If you want to hear how most people in North Alabama sound, listen to any of the guys from the group Alabama. Their accents are pretty typical. Lucas is a sweetheart of a guy. His family still lives in Speake.
Definitely a Bama accent. He grew up not far from where I lived in Moulton. Amy P is right about the pure Lawrence County rural. Accents vary from county to county, so some aren't as thick as his. My father's side of the family speak just like this. I do too when I'm relaxed at home with friends and family. When working I try to tone it down a bit. :)
I Like Lucas Black he is cute an a very talented young actor, he is only 17 yrs old here, in this interview. I love the movies he played an such as Slingblade, The War, and and the disney movie Flash.
He was so small, his feet didn't even touch me floor as he sat in the chair. He was 16 during Crazy Alabama and I thought he was about 12 in the movie!
I have no idea who that kid is, I got to this video by mistake and I've never seen or heard of him in my life but he is just a little ray of sunshine. He's beautiful in a strange way, sort of a 1990s Liam James I feel...(and I've just realized that, by the way, as I was typing.) I'm glad I watched it and I will definatlly look him up.
Rosie was such a good interviewer. Compare her to someone like Ellen. Ellen asks bland questions and is pretty bland. Rosie is leaning in, engaging, having an actual conversation!
And after meeting "Rosie" his career became mediocre and his name was mostly forgotten. Thanks Roastie. Lucas should have waited till he was well known like Tom Selleck then walked off her smugg laden stage. 🤢
Love that he’s such a regular kid, and that he talked about fishing and sports.
Didn’t appear that he let Hollywood get to his head.
What a sweet soul. You can't beat a Southern accent
His acting skills are paramount. He was incredible in Sling Blade. He is the same person, still hunts/fishes and has that southern accent. His youtube channel is awesome.
He's also a patriotic American and a devout Christian.
We Southerners ARE nice people and I'm SO proud of Lucas. My son told me about his youtube channel, so I've subscribed to it. He is a wonderful, kind family man and above all he is a Christian. I love you Lucas!
I’m from Texas. His voice is so comforting to me. Makes me feel home
I’m from southeast Kentucky and he sounds A LOT like us.
He had no clue he was gona be drifting a lancer evolution a few years into the future
What an amazing and down to earth young man. God bless his in all his endeavor's. Loved him in Legion!
Never gave up his accent. That’s what’s awesome about him. I’m the same way, mine is extreme like his, been made fun of quite a few times in my life about it but it’s never bothered me!

He's currently doing well these days, that's why he doesn't bend to Hollywood like others do.
@@SuperKhalid95 He used to be an alcoholic. When he left NCIS new Orléans, he said he had been sober for 5 years.
I love him. He is the only person on tv or in movies that I see and makes me think of where I grew up. Hollywood has so few southern actors and it is so refreshing to hear an authentic accent instead of some colonial bullshit or unintelligible mountain man accent
he honestly sounds like the dumbest dude on earth.
@@zimonslot but yet he is 100 times richer than u are, so who's the dumb one now?
@@zimonslot no lol
And he still spends most of his time hunting and fishing! Seems like a really nice and honest guy.
I miss american gothic tho.Who was watching back in the day and still like it??
Great show!!!!
Fast forward to today, one of the leading actors on a spinoff of a very successful tv franchise! Good for him.
Still down to earth too.
I never watched her show, but O'Donnell was a very good interviewer--at least in this instance. Now Slingblade...there was an underrated flick. Lucas wins Best Leading Young Actor in a Feature Film
Love the innocence and humbleness . Great actor and person.
He had no idea he was gonna join the Marines, drift in Tokyo, and save the world from the apocolypse
I coulda sworn he was killed out in the desert by Federales but then I saw him playing football in Odessa.
The audio is terrible on this. I love it. Why didn't anybody tell me that LB has his own UA-cam channel?
ALWAYS LIKED HIM FROM YOUNG TILL NOW, PRETY HORSES WAS MY FAVE WITH MATT DAMON AND ETS FRIEND. JT FROM MEX
Great film, down in ol Mexico/Texas 👏
Damn, and I thought my family from West Virginia had thick accents. Lol
He is so humble and relatable.

RIP " LaSalle " . Will miss you terribly on NCIS.
He has a UA-cam channel called Real Life Lucas Black. Check it out!

I was waiting for that Roll Tide

And now he has a fishing UA-cam channel

Other than him & Mathew Mccaughey. I can't think of actors that stayed true to their Southern accent their whole careers
Tommy Lee Jones. Billy Bob Thornton.
Holly Hunter

I really enjoy watching Lucas's fishing videos
He was so cute and I had the biggest crush on him back then. I first heard of him when he was in Disney’s Flash.
Same. He was adorable in this movie.
He's so adorable 💓💓
Lucas nearly stole every scene in Slingblade, that he was in. A natural. This interview was before Rosie became....what she is now.
An original, that makes folks like you shake in their boots.
Rosie was always Rosie. It just wasn't popular to hate her back then
Yes, he would be well known now if he walked off her stage "left" like Ton Selleck did years ago.
@@doctorfeinstone6524 We started not liking her after she showed her true self, she either changed or was faking niceness on her show.

thank you for uploading this! i used to watch 'flash' all the time when i was a little kid and i've wanted to see this for years!! i can now die happy
