I watched this film on DVD in the mid 2000s damn near 10 years after it was released and was shocked how great it was.
It’ll go down as a classic I hope.
Lucas Black was awesome I like the way he talks. He was on NCIS New Orleans when he grew up.
His acting in SB was excellent, quite believable as lil Frank but in NCIS he was craptastic --mostly hard to watch
Great movie and will be great forever....timeless ....
I saw it when it first came out on VHS. Being an indy film I was not too sure about it when I rented it. Wow, was I in for a surprise. My wife and I were drawn into that film and the intensity of the acting. What an amazing and famously surprising movie.
Those Conan years were my faves. Just as great as Letterman, so basically the golden age of late night.
Everybody was great in Slingblade. One of the all time epic movies

I think all should see “Doyle lose it” at least a 1000 times!! It’ll help others understand us Drunks a little better!!👌👌😜
D.Y. Is an amazing actor and performer and I hope D.Y. Will do more movies 🎥 I saw him at the Sacramento Cali state fair a few years ago ………………and what a great show 🤩
We saw him and Gary Allan do a show together in Corpus Christi in November. Gary Allan actually opened for Dwight. We are going to see Dwight next month at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
Sling Blade could have been written by Faulkner or O'Connor. An incredible film.
I really like the insight on the Faulkner reference.
Col. Bruce Hampton (Ret) had a small part in Sling Blade. He's one of my favorite blues/jam band musicians.
