Nice job. These camera bumps really need to go though. Or at least build on something that protrudes like 1mm beyond the lens so that it’s not so easy to break.
Bought a replacement lens, watched this video, looks like I'm taking my phone to the shop lmaooo. Good video though thanks for sharing. But yeah I ain't doing this alone ahhaha
I was wondering that does a crack have any impact on the picture quality? Or let's say there is no crack but you hit the rear camera so badly by a mistake, can it have an impact on the image quality? Thank you for the answers.
So if you removed without heat, would you still recommend taking the phone apart? For example, and I'm sure there a few different ways you could do it, but if you're replacing the glass then its probably safe to assume it's broken. If it's broken then you may able to get a chip out from the spider web fracture. If you get the chip out then you have an access point to begin prying up and removing further pieces?
Might have torn the camera cable, but I don't believe you can replace it because Apple links it to the Face ID system. Might want to take it to Apple and see what they can do
I just got all the necessary tools to replace it. I’m trading in my phone for the XS max through Verizon. Will they be able to tell I did this and is it fine if i don’t re apply the adhesive
I've read somewhere that the iPhone X has an electronic opening and liquid sensor which cannot be circumvented, and can be read by Apple diag software. The opening sensor is probably a magnetic/hal effect sensor which senses when the screen frame is opened.
At that rate, I would recommend replacing the back frame of the phone all in one piece, but it is not a fun repair and is high risk. Personally, I would change just the camera lens and put a case or skin on the back of the phone. Repairing both is high risk for the person doing it (glass shards flying everywhere) and will take so long to repair.
Hi , I am having problem with my TrueDepth camera because my iPhoneX drops down in water, Everything is working fine but their is moisture in camera glass! Can you help me with than
This break is exactly identical to mine wtf.. also I JUST noticed my camera was broken it was fine yesterday took a fall but the only thing damaged was the tempered glass screen and barely I obsessively checked my camera, and haven’t dropped it since, I had the days off and sat on the couch watching tv all day and yesterday.. all of a sudden it’s shattered..
Real World Review It seems like your method is a lot safer whereas the method of just removing the glass without opening the phone keeps waterproofing, but the risk to screw up the camera is greater. What a pain
I have removed the glass before without issues, but these iPhone cameras are super temperamental, so even if you do the repair correctly, it could cause stuff like FaceID and Portrait mode to fail. So because of this I just take the camera out altogether lol Disclaimer, I doubt the phone is water resistant after the repair, regardless of how it is taken apart (but accidental drops should still be fine)
I did this without taking the camera out but was unsuccessful as little pieces of dust got onto the camera lens!!!! It was impossible to clean the camera - pics had black dots everywhere!! So I would recommend this method as it’s a lot safer, although involves taking the screen off etc.
Never waterproof, only water resistant. But I doubt the repair will keep water resistance, but breaking the glass probably kills the water resistance. Keep it out of water lol
My phone was run over by a few cars, surprisingly the only damage to the phone is a shattered glass to the back camera. Everything in the phone works except for any camera features. The funny thing is that the back camera works when using facebook. Could the back camera be repaired and get the front camera working again?
I have done maybe with no issues. The high lower is the chip failing. I have seen it happen with many stock (never been opened) iPhones. I have vendors selling hundreds of X, XR, and XS Max’s with the higher lower issue. Very rare to get the “FaceID not working” message.
@@RealWorldReview i don’t think it’s the message because on my iPhone XR current phone the Face ID doesn’t work because there is a large crack that goes right over that sensor and I never got any messages
It never was waterproof to begin with though. There's an IP67 Protection but Apple doesn't cover liquid damage in the warranty (neither does Samsung), so you shouldn't really use your phone in water at all. Replacing the camera lens, back glass, or display will remove the IP67 Protection but even after that the phone is still water resistant to a certain level, and can still take some water splashes here and there.
You saved me a lot of money, thanks for this tutorial! Everything works fine for me after the installation of the new glass.
Are you kidding me....
I mean, excellent video... But there is no way I would do all that.
Yeah, it's not a fun one!
S Gons I would repair it for somebody if the price is right
this is a pretty easy fix but the problem is not being guaranteed that water resistance is back
i really wanna make a "of course an apple user would say this" joke but i'm an apple user so i would be dissing my self
I did the repair. I never want to do this repair again lol. Apple should have copied Samsung and made the back glass easier to replace.
This is a great insight on how to repair the lens, however I’m gonna pay someone to do it for me lol
XD I have the same thought after watching this video hahahaha
Pussys

Hi, i lost the microphne filter, is there any way i can get one? Thanks
Bought a replacement lens, watched this video, looks like I'm taking my phone to the shop lmaooo. Good video though thanks for sharing. But yeah I ain't doing this alone ahhaha
Where can i get the Microphone filter (Or the Flashlight Lense) if lost???
So is the phone no longer water resistant?
if the glass is completely off already,do you still have to take the phone apart to replace the lens or can you do it with everything still intact?
Idk but can’t u just heat up the camera to melt the glue then use a razor to get the camera glass off then replace it??
Yes but you risk melting the camera which has plastic lenses on it.
If I remove the back of the iPhone will this allow me to get into camera and dry out condensation I’ve ordered a iPhone Screwdriver
Short & simple 👍
Great Video On iPhone Repair. It's nice to see a good POV to further my knowledge
Where can you buy the camera replacement
I got the protector changed
But now it’s not focusing as before
I did the same without watching video, also replaced the cameras too. but now it get blurry when you zoom it in / who knows why ?
Excellent video. Clear and concise.
Thank you! Hopefully this video helped
How hot does it need to be ? I don’t have heat gun but I can get hot air up to 400°f
Hi, where did you buy the glass replacement?
They can be found on eBay or Amazon. Here's a link - rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202008748959
Sir how to fix glue haze on camera lens
In the UK, one retailers was iPhone X Rear Camera Repair
£99.99 😳.
Pretty high! I generally charge $80 USD.
My iPhone X camera just smashed a little where do I get this repaired? It not smashed that bad
In America, if you give it to apple, it costs $570
Hi, what kind of glue do you use to paste the new glass?
Me : Hey iPhone...
IPhone : F*ck You!!
😂😂
I was wondering that does a crack have any impact on the picture quality? Or let's say there is no crack but you hit the rear camera so badly by a mistake, can it have an impact on the image quality? Thank you for the answers.
Oğuz Çelik It depends on how bad the lens is damaged. Small hairline cracks shouldn’t impact the image quality. Anything worse probably will.
Yes due to the fact that dust particles and other stuff can get in there and cover the lens
The cover of my camera lens fell down what should i do?
Fix or replace it
Extremely simple. Except that i wont do it myself🤣
Thank You Sir
I don't understand why the phone needed to be opened? You removed the glass from the outside
Because adding heat to the plastic cameras is a terrible thing to do. It's possible to do, but mainly for the experienced repair tech.
So if you removed without heat, would you still recommend taking the phone apart?
For example, and I'm sure there a few different ways you could do it, but if you're replacing the glass then its probably safe to assume it's broken. You can, just make sure not to scratch the camera sensors when doing so.
Joshua You my friend think like a Technician!
After changing the glass the camera did not work, I bought another one and it does not work either, any idea of why the camera does not work?
Might have torn the camera cable, but I don't believe you can replace it because Apple links it to the Face ID system. Might want to take it to Apple and see what they can do

I personally don't think they'll care. Just as long as it isn't cracked they'll take it in
Opening the phone breaks the warranty?
In a way, yes and no. But the quick answer is yes, I would assume your warranty would be void after opening up the device.
I've read somewhere that the iPhone X has an electronic opening and liquid sensor which cannot be circumvented, and can be read by Apple diag software. The opening sensor is probably a magnetic/hal effect sensor which senses when the screen frame is opened.
Mine broke but it also affected the screen turns off every 10 secs and its green screen sht
If your screen is green it’s likely the lcd.
Okay BUT what if my back glass AND camera lens broke? Do I have to remove the entire ring/frame? How do I put that back on? :[
Hi ,
I am having problem with my TrueDepth camera because my iPhoneX drops down in water, Everything is working fine but their is moisture in camera glass!
Can you help me with than
Just buried your phone into a pile of rice. The dry rice will absorb the moisture.
This break is exactly identical to mine wtf.. also I JUST noticed my camera was broken it was fine yesterday took a fall but the only thing damaged was the tempered glass screen and barely I obsessively checked my camera, and haven’t dropped it since, I had the days off and sat on the couch watching tv all day and yesterday.. all of a sudden it’s shattered..
couldnt you do that without opening the whole phone? just asking. (i know this way you are not jeopardizing the camera). Thanks
Yeah you can, but the amount of heat might damage the camera sensors. Just be light with the heat and make sure to not scratch the sensor.

I’ve dropped mine and my camera is smashed and I want to know how to fix my camera any vid ideas anyone?
You can use this video, just replace the camera with this one amzn.to/3sTlsdG
sorry but that was Not Profi ,u opend all display and parts only for Changing lense ?
i replace lens glass without open anything .
Lol, that sounds pretty non profi.
A guy broke my back glass trying to place the new camera glass on the frame. I don’t know how that happened. The glass was already off.
No idea lol sorry for your loss
The crack on my lens looks exactly the same hahaa

That is really odd. Might be the camera sensor, but they're expensive to replace.
a heat gun is 7 dollars???
Clearly not. Neither is the device needed to watch this video
Oh yeah... Really nice. My Camera Glass is missing on the top camera and since I don't want to pay 500$ I can do this shit... Anyways good video.
Awe dang no longer water resistant
Do not attempt take it to Apple to get a replacement if u have warranty
Warranty doesn't cover physical damage and will cost $99 if you have Apple Care and $599 if you do not.
Real World Review $599 for a camera repair 😭😭😭 you can literally buy 2 phones with that
Maybe not iPhone X's, but yeah lol
And now the Face ID doesn’t work cuz you put your finger over sensor
It still works lol
@@RealWorldReview and your very lucky for that because if you cover that sensor your screwed

the device is supposed to be water resistant! The glue you used and the amount won't make the phone water resistant anymore
Correct. Apple does not cover water damage
@@RealWorldReview Is there any way to replace the whole camera housing?
smh I dropped mine the other day /;
very scary
ohhh man 5:13 looks like a broken finger LOL
😂
Not very jolly video
ahahahahaahahahaahah
iPhone is for the old people.
How?
